A very nice car. I've been thinking about getting one for my wife. She's had an Astra G 2003 2.2 convertible from a year old. Still only 71500 miles on the clock. It's been a great car and one of the few true four seat convertibles. We needed four seats for the children when they were young and in booster seats, with their legs straight out in front of them. Nowadays, it's just my wife or I that drives it. It's fully loaded, but the paintwork is looking a little tired. When you have a car like that, what's the point in getting rid of it, unless you are going to get something a little special. A Boxster seems just the ticket.
Got the same wheels on mine they were a factory fit option. The hardtop alone is worth £800. Check for damp under passenger seat and if wet clean out the soft top drain holes, the ECU can flood and it’s expensive to repair.
@@flightographist Well, the last time, they cleaned the drain holes for free, without me even asking, even though that requires to remove body panels. How much more does Porsche charge for that than BMW or Toyota?

I got my 02 plate with 97k mls for £2800 as it was a trade-in through a mate's garage, I expected it to be ropey but it was very good, even had virtually new Michelin pilot sports on very clean wheels. Spent £2200 with a Porsche independent getting it up to spec with coil packs, new AC condensers, brake lines and a new water pump being the main issues, but now it's a great little car and stands me at £5K knowing everything is done. From the bits I did myself, get the impression these were very well built which I think helps the longevity, massive bang for the buck as a summer fun car.

Amazing video on the Boxster. My only negative comment would be that the headlights could have done with a compound polish to remove the yellowing. It really does lift the Appearance of the car. And also brightens up the night drive.
Original wheels similar to the 993 turbo wheels, possibly what your confusing them for. Also that oil on the engine is usually the crank seal. Those are 986 early wheels. And the 4 spoke steering wheel means the first 2.5l. Not the 2.7l. You can paint them ‘satin poly gold’ and it’s same as satin aurum from Porsche
Yes, I’ve never seen a 2.7 with the 4 spoke steering wheel, and I e looked at 100,s 0-60 in 6.9 so sports car where as the 3.2 is Porsche performance .. 2.7 would do me though ..

This woulda been a top series🙄
Totally agree. It all sounded a bit rushed which i presume is to get it gone before winter fully sets in.
If i was the buyer I'd want that laquer peel done as part of the deal I'm afraid - so you might have been better off waiting until Friday for the end result and then selling it.
Love the quick flips guys. I've been doing it for years as a side hobby. Keep up the good work 👍
They are Porsche Boxster wheels
Known as twists also come on some 996 911 models
Rob they are Boxster genuine wheels for that model. Had exactly the same car years ago but in Silver on a 'P' reg.
Only went live 4 minutes ago and some pratt has disliked..? 🤨
Yeh. Single videos are very enjoyable. I get that the damaged Copart cars dont lend themselves to one video but when possible they do add a nice little treat.
We brought a 2001 for £500 pretty bad paint work but they suffer with water under the passenger seat and the alarms and central locking always suffers. It is almost the same story as yours.
Lol would you like double your money back on it !
@@sruk my mate has kept it his other half is now tooling about in the cheapest boxster out there :)
Nice one, good film, good flip. Deffo keen to see a few more quick flips alongside the projects. Cheers lads
Great video again guys and just watching your update as I type this. Not surprising that Porsche sold that quick that’s a bargain. Had a few questions about other projects but all questions answered. Looking forward to seeing how the Escort goes. Always love the content definitely love to see more quick flips but also the salvage jobs and how you repair them. Thanks again Rob and Chris
That had top must be worth 500 notes.. steal at £3250. Nice one lads!!!
Great stuff. Delighted to see you doing well on these projects. Thank you for sharing.
£2200! That's insane. That's a bargain all day long. Lovely car for the money, even with the advisories. I'd give you guys 4K for it.
If you really want to pay 4000 for it, I'm sure you can get it.
@@thefreedomguyuk Already sold. I've checked prices here in Oz, probably 10 times the cost or more!
If you live in oz it would cost you more than the car is worth getting to Australia ..Plus I doubt very much a tatty old Porsche with 104,000 miles on the clock would be over 10 times more with prices over £22,000..
@@leebolton9913 Check it out, you’d be amazed.
Nice to hear Chris talk a bit more!! Also good to see that he was the one to joy ride it round the yard.
Nice one guys good car for that money
Theres a little button to the right of the drivers footwell on the fusebox to manually lift the rear spoiler mate for cleaning.
I have a 1999 boxster those are boxster OEM wheels through and through
Nice quick flip guys !😀
For the brakes, to clean em up just run it down road and slam brakes on.
I own one, and that exhaust sounds like it had the Creos modification done to it. Gives it a beautiful drone.
They sound tappy when they’ve been sat a while. After 20 mins the noise disappears
Shhh. These 986 boxsters are the only bargain sports cars left! Sweet sweet drive for £5000. Nothing compares, bite me. Already going up in price
