What annoys me about that weapon is that you still have to reload it like an actual proper musket (ball, powder, rod, and cap), like I thought it being turned into a high-tech weapon would simplify how it's reloaded.
Actually I think it works like the soviet laser pistols. It required physical pyrotechnic flashbulbs that detonated in order to provide light to the weapon. With the musket I assume it would use a special powder mix designed to generate light focused through a single use lense to create a powerful laser. I agree with other sentiments however as it should probably be a railgun musket.
Realistically a good soldier (whether that be from the Crimean war, Napoleonic war, or whatever war, they could fire up to 3 rounds a minute [ a rifle had a tighter fit so ramming down the cartridge would take longer ] ) *edit : I forgot if it was up to 3 rounds or not*
Its a nice change of pace to visit somewhere else and the weapons, story and characters are more interesting than the previous fallout games. I hope they make dlcs and expand further
There is nothing wrong with pipe guns and Fallout 4's assault rifle (aside from it having an extremely wide barrel) in my opinion. It's just game styles, I think Fo:L's guns are the most Fallout feeling unofficial guns I've ever seen.
In a country where conventional firearms are restricted, I'm surprised there aren't more homebuilt energy weapons. A flintlock laser pistol, a DIY gauss rifle, or even a DB shotgun modified to fire plasma
Especially in this version of the world where the industrial bases of the western world weren't outsourced so tons of average joes and janes know complex machining

Now imagine There being lions and bears near Chernobyl. That would be monsters. Good thing there were no large predators there in the 1 place. Just imagine a bear with elephant size charging your arse. And Chernobyl is a relatively small ecosystem that was affected by radiation for a mere 80 years. Fallout has a full Earth size ecosystem and 200+ years of radiation. So theoretically this could lead to some dangerous new species popping up. Chances are low yes, but this COULD happen. Lasers on the other hand COULD'NT have recoil in any situation, cuz it's just light. Sience fiction is 1 thing, and defying physics is another.

As stated before, during the time in beetween the world wars, China was obsessed with the mauser pistols, most popular being the full auto versions. Strangely however, the mauser company themselves where pretty much the last company to come out with a full auto, detachable box mag version of their pistol, that being the m712 schnellfeuer.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s partially based off of the Mateba MTR-8, an eight shot double action revolver that has the trigger mechanism directly in line with the bore and cylinder. The semi-automatic operation and bolt is likely just the devs taking creative license with the design

I think the Fallout London team made a mistake by calling the musket with blue beam a laser musket. It looks more like a Gauss Musket.

The crude revolver actually shows the difference between a round that has its primer struck and one that doesn’t. Respect to the MOD authors.
