It is always a difficult question regarding the demand. I am planning to make a new video about salaries and working trends in Switzerland in 2021 very soon
Our health insurance is expensive but the health system is very good, it is not state funded, we pay for it ourselves. I have a Sfr. 500 franchise per year, once i have used that up i only pay ten percent of the bill after that, the health fund pays the rest.
ETH 's alumni named D.J. Rohner in 1961 under the UNESCO assignment he was coming to Thailand for the feasibility study of establishing a higher education for development in North East region of Thailand, since then the Khon Kaen Institute of Technology was the early named of the project to get the worlwide attentions for support and later changed its name to Khon Kaen University and this year 2024 is celebrating the 60th anniversary. Thanks ETH and I hope in the future there will be an academics cooperation between the two institutions
We have a lot of bio organic products here. Meat is dear here, you have to remember we are not a large country and we don’t have as many farms as a big country.
I laughed out loud when you said "Where in the world would this work???" when you talked about shopping directly at the farms !!! I'm still after 20 years incredibly amazed by that too ! Lovely video !
I can't agree with you about that health insurance is expensive. I live in Poland and here we also have "free" healthcare with some limitations, but we pay it in taxes and it is around 10% of my salary, in that case comparing my expenses in tax for it. I have low-end healthcare with waiting time about a year for anything to get and in most of the cases I end up with private medical companies where I have to pay additional money. I don't know how it looks like in Russia but I assume it looks a bit similar.
Our costs are higher here because we are not part of the EU, thank God, the EU has more people to sell to. Our wages are higher here than a lot of other European countries so things cost more, it’s all relative to where you live and how much you earn.
Live near Lugano for 10 years in italian alps part . Most swiss people do their shopping in Varese area who live near ponte Tresana area or Lugano. Italy is Clever coz they built a lot of super market in the boarder
Privet! I used to live in Geneva (foggy and boring) and not coming back (french language socks)...l am planning to move to Ticino soon Is Lugano or Locarno better to live in your opinion?
Lovely video 💕 it makes me happy when foreigners living here love it and embrace all the great things this country offers. Lol on the dining out part 😅 we do eat out a lot on holidays in other places we visit. In ZH we only dine out once or twice a month. Apero is another thing😄 that happens a lot. Us Swiss love an after work aperitivo🍹 The quality of the food plays a big part in the fitness of the population. We are not big on processed foods and like good and fresh to cook at home. Paying more for health insurance is a big reason for keeping our taxes really low.
Thanks for the video :) I'm ending my degree in App developer (basically programmer) and I would like to move to Switzerland about next year. I have a big question. I only can speak english and spanish, currently I'm studying deutsch too but, how important is have a high level on deutsch or local language? It's dificult to get a job being a junior? Cheeeeeers :) greetings from Andalucía Spain :P
Hey man, can I ask, would you consider Spain a good place for software devs? I'm from South Africa looking to live abroad and I was looking at Spain as one of my options
Great video, thanks a lot! How difficult is it to get a corporate job if you only speak English (but have corporate experience in an English speaking country)…?
Bravo. To be russian you speak very well. I could figure out your origen after de firts minute but I think it was cause I know russian language too. It seems to me you are well educated at the high level. One question althouth. How did you financed your study?.
Thank you so much! Do you or anyone you know have a space in which I can ask more questions and get support in my upcoming journey to move to Switzerland from the USA? Thank you, and you do such a lovely job. 👍🏻
Do you know anything about geneva business school? is it a good school to study at? I was doing research and I couldn't find many reviews of students studying there
I got more information from your videos ,I really like Swiss and I also hope that I will get a job in Swiss and can work there as a businessman or bank management job
Hello! I am from the US and would like to move to Switzerland, what language is the best to learn to live in Switzerland? Can I find work by just speaking English or would i have to learn proper French and German? I am a pharmacists so in the medical field what is the most common language spoken?
Please tell where exactly i get a job with this high salary without being upper management in a swiss company??? The median salary is abround 110000chf
It's interesting that even a few of the cons are pros to me: women dressing more comfortably and the slow pace and "boring" life. The cost benefit of services are mostly not great... including the medical ones.
Is it true that the Swiss judge when you wear dresses? I'm thinking of tasteful modest dresses, with sneakers, etc., not heels Nothing vulgar or offensive. I have seen many negative comments about that and the coldness of Swiss people etc. Do you have to be quiet in public spaces and in general? Are the rules the same as in Germany where you are not allowed to flush the toilet after 10 pm at night? Etc. I would like to hear the experiences of foreigners in that country, and the Swiss themselves about their culture. 🙂
I visited Switzerland from the US last year, and I was surprised by how many women were wearing dresses and skirts, especially in Zurich! Compared to the US, they wear dresses and high heels much more. Also, the people were not cold at all. They were very friendly, especially after my dad talked to them in Swiss German. The trains and trams are as quiet as libraries. You definitely don’t want to talk loudly on the train, or people will glare at you. I loved it there so much, I’m looking for a way to move there.
@@zaram131 Thank you for sharing your experience 🙂 people always tell me that I'm quiet and that I need to speak louder to be understood, so Switzerland would be ideal for me 😄 I'm not so much interested in big cities like Zurich, but beautiful villages 😍 If I could, I would move there immediately. Unfortunately, it's hard to get in Switzerland in general, especially when you are going alone and don't know anyone there.
Yes, it’s very hard to move there as an American. I loved the beautiful villages, but I loved Zurich too. The old town in Zurich is so beautiful. It’s all traffic-free, as are many of the smaller villages. Yes, for us quieter people, Switzerland is a dream come true. My ancestors were from there, so I felt right at home immediately! I hope you get to go, and I hope I get to go back!
I do not think they judge, I think most people don‘t care. People are different as everywhere but I was lucky enough to meet a lot of great, kind people here. You don‘t have to be quite in public spaces but you have to care about people around you, be respectful, sometimes, indeed, it means be quite. 😊 At home after 20.00 you have to be quite meaning not making too much noise, if the house is that old that you can hear everything than probably yes avoid using bathroom, but it is such a rare case nowadays
Honestly i am Swiss but never have i worked in a country that has such a high rate of Idiots and low IQ thinkers in the work place than in Switzerland. No one has the ability to think out of the box all new innovations are all copied from other countries.. The logic on how some think or behave is mind blowing. Team work is nearly non existent. Plus the indoctrination of fear amongst people frightened to loose their jobs because of some power hungry leader, supervisor or shift leader is insane... many just criticize, make up their own rules and threaten instead of giving CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM which helps a team thrive. Most of the verbal diarrhea coming from them is also going against work laws but they seem to think many don't do their home work. If your going to work and want a team that stands together go and work for an international company.

I would be happier if less people came here because we are already crowded enough here, our country is too small to fit a lot more people in. If more people turn up it just puts more strain on the environment, on the roads, on our infrastructure, on our health system, it’s not good.
Women fought hard to not have to wear dresses all the time. Why should women go several steps back. They also fought for their right to keep their name once they marry. Seriously women don't have to hide behind make up, or wear shoes that are too high which hurt their feet.
I think you’re just jealous because she speaks more than two languages. When you’re a polyglot, you will always have an accent. I understand her perfectly fine.
