Sharon Blevins Yeah, I thought so, too. The shows from ‘74 are currently showing in my city, and he’s hilarious on those shows. I read he quit Match Game, because he felt they came up with the money wheel because the producers felt he won too much money for the contestants in the big money match.
This old match game with Gene Rayburn, is so much better than that new match game that they had! It’s real it’s to the point. It’s the way that this country used to be! It’s too bad that almost all of them are gone now. I know that Joyce Bulifant is still alive! and so is Bert Braverman, there’s just a couple of them. JOYCE had just written a book! And she still looks as beautiful as ever! And Bert Braverman is much better good looking than he was before. He has been through a lot. Yes I do. Miss BRETT mouthing OFF.
@@mary-annemueller9885 He said he's performed as Scrooge. That's what I'd like to see. I was NOT referring to his comic persona here on Match Game, which is very amusing. A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite stories and I'd sure love to see Gene starring in a play of it. But it does not seem to have been taped or at least if anyone did, it hasn't been uploaded anywhere online. At least not that I could find.
I never realized how tired the syndicated version of Match Game was until I’ve watched them in continuum by week. They rely too much on “how ________ was he” questions. And the audience is rarely ready for them.
Typical of Gene to mention the play he's in and neglect to include a co-star in said play who happens to be sitting right there! So arrogant. Then poor Bill Cullen has to say, uh, I'm in the play too...remember?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (unfortunately you know who got to you too, huh)? Oh well, Brett's well-loved by almost everyone on here (and you know that's a FACT if you read the comments), and that's all that really matters :) and by the way, I know you won't admit it, but if you watch this show regularly, then you KNOW that Charles is the one who hogs the camera all the time :)

I really hate Gene making fun of older people. In the MG documentary, his daughter insinuated that he had a rough experience going into his golden years, and he was a very wealthy man.
I've been doing that with all of Fred Travelna's episodes (I've already thumbs down like 10 episodes.... probably more; I can't remember if I started giving it a thumbs down in the very beginning when he was on or not). And I had to thumbs down ONE episode that Edie McClurg was on because of how annoying she was, but I don't wanna give ALL these episodes a thumbs down (I guess it depends on HOW annoying she gets. I haven't seen this yet)
Nice to see Bill Cullen!
Bill Cullen didn't drink Salty Dog. I don't want to drink Salty Dog, that would be too much.
Gene Rayburn is the best dressed MC on television always has been and always will be!
I believe that’s Tim CONWAY’s wig when he plays an old man
Gene looks like a cross between John Davidson, The grinch and Cornelius. haha
This aired around March 8, 1982.
This episode was taped on 9 October 1981.
Was funner with Richard Dawson.

What's funny is you saying that lol (I didn't like him, but he DID match a fair amount. However he was never FUNNY)

Old-timer references.
Stanley Zwick did those "Old-timer" jokes, and he got into trouble.
Salty Dog was also the name of a song; I have a recording of it by the Kingston Trio and it had another meaning other than being about a drink
I don't drink alcohol. God doesn't like that alcohol stuff.
Mrs. IRON MAN
Ahh, Bill has joined the Hug a Cop Club.
SCREEN door, perfect answer! I thought of REVOLVING door.
pace back and forth under his CAR

Chair six real popular with many actors. Betty White the most used. But who sat there the most?
Fannie Flagg?
Joyce Bulifant, Patti Deutsch, and Marcia Wallace.

Yea, and for Gene to act as if he forgot the man was working with him.....so self absorbed.
BRETT is blasted
Of course Bret Somers had to try and steal the spotlight! Ugh 😠
Every single show. No wonder Klugman left her.
