Old Gal Fly Fisher Sorry about that! We are all brothers and sisters in this strange pursuit of the finned creatures. 😁👍👍
Old Gal Fly Fisher wow!! Great stuff on your channel sister!! I cut my teeth trout fishing. When I was 13 I worked 14 hours a day at the bait shops every summer and fished the other 10. Started guiding at 15. Browns Rainbows and Lakers. Light line. Light tackle. If you ever want to collaborate on a video Striper fishing or trout fishing let me know. Mikesmedley9@gmail.com.

AWESOME!! Thanks Adrian!!👍
Nice , but have you thought about using heat shrink for the ends instead of electrical tape?
I haven’t, but that might be good.
How does this grip compare to lizard skinz grip?
I've used Winn grips on my golf clubs for years, never thought about putting them on fishing rods
Yep. They just recently came out with this lineup for Fishing.
Do you think I can put my reel clamp directly to the wrap?
I don’t see why not.
What kind of fishing rods do you use are they good for line siders and black fish???
Enrique Baquerizo yes sir!! Striper fishing is all we do!! These are the Accurate 7020c Medium/light. I still have the first pre-production models, been using the same ones for over 10 years and really love them. We use them for everything. Trolling. Live and cut Bait.

Hello Mike thank you for the suggestion went looking for the rod and unfortunately it’s been discontinued any more suggestions on other rods and reels that I could buy?? Great videos keep up the great work!!
Did you try Seeker? They use the same numbers. If they changed the number get the 7’ medium light casting. I have seen it recently but not sure the actual numbers. If you can’t find it let me know and I will check when I get home later.
Where can I buy that wrap?
Jackson Vang I get it from Amazon. Cabelas has it too. The 44” will do ONE of these fore grips. The 96” will do both grips.
These wraps wont bond securely to cork or EVA surfaces, especially when
they are dirty. Results will be temporary. A MUCH better process is to
sand the grips down about 1/16" and apply electrical heat shrink over
the grips before adding the Winn wrap. This makes for secure bond and a
nice clean permanent grip. When sanding any sharp angles can also be
radiused to make a clean transition on the ends.
White Raven sounds like great advice. One of the biggest factors I see on both brands is stretch. If you stretch it has hard as you can without breaking it, they stay on really well. Both EVA and cork. Your advice will definitely make it bite in better. Great comment brother. Thanks!
@@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS If you sand a shallow groove about a half inch wide next to the reel seat you can have your wrap line up flush to the reel seat instead of being wider than the reel seat. Most of the issues Ive seen with the wraps is when you try to apply them over a worn grip with uneven surfaces. Once water breaches the overlap point and gets under the wrap its the beginning of the end. the heat shrink gives a nice smooth surface to apply the wrap over. BTW....Love your Vids!
Wow. Excellent idea!! Thanks!!!
Are you just hunting down these videos to post this. Loke the fourth one ive seen lmao
Perhaps you can help? I have a surf rod with rubber cork grip tape (lamiglas factory surf rod). I really love the feel of real cork. Any way to thicken up the skinny feel of the current rubber tape AND thicken it up ideally with real-er feeling cork? I know i'm asking for a lot lol.
Does it add much bulk to the handle?
A little.
