Yeah. Him saying DL is lying on purpose is a very bold statement. In reality, DL probably isn't remembering correctly or just doesn't understand. DL isn't an analytical person. Even with the lane swap thing, I understand what Dom and DL are saying. In general, they are doing a very similar strat. However, when you take a deeper dive, you can tell they are different strats.

The game DL is referring to is T1 vs Mad at MSI 2023. T1 does the sion diving strat.
they also did it vs geng in game 1

that's still not the same thing as a laneswap though. BDS and G2 both sent their ADCs (varus and jinx) top. in other words the bot lane goes top lane (hence the name lane swap). with the sion diving strat, the bot lanes stay bot and sion tp's back to top. so the bot laners stay bot and the top laners stay top. hence not a laneswap. doublelift said it's the same thing. no way doublelift doesn't know the difference between sending your ADC top and having your top laner top.

Grabbz said on Tolkins stream 3 weeks ago (german LEC co-stream) that no BDS player ever watched ANY LPL/LCK games. He tried to made them do it as a homework but even that failed. They only wanted to watch their old LFL teams (like KC). So you think its likely that this randomly changed and they watched a "random" LPL playoff game (not even close to the final as its playoff round 3)? Unlikely in my book but we will never know.

Do you think DL got his tourneys mixed up? T1 did do a Sion lane swap play at MSI vs GenG last year. Zeus double jungled, then went top, but swapped to bot after 5 minutes, so maybe that’s what he’s thinking of? That’s the closest thing I could find to a “lane swap” from T1 last year at all.
Also, am I the only one who could see the scrims still being leaked for the sole reason of “G2 has to have practiced this?” Like yes, we JUST saw it in LPL, but that doesn’t mean every team instantly knows how to play it, or play against it effectively. Like what is to say someone didn’t leak G2 scrims and say “this just happened in LPL and G2 has been practicing it, here’s the leak”

DL is wrong that it was Worlds. T1 at MSI game 3 vs MAD did the Sion strat of going with the jungler and then diving bot lane. They did not lane swap. I think DL is just misremembering. That being said T1 did not swap bot and top lanes that game, so DL is wrong. Don't want to bail DL out completely as you shouldn't throw your 2 cents in if you don't have your own facts straight; however, I think that is what DL was thinking of.
I think Dom's point is that when he makes a video or makes claims like this he has evidence and pretty objective information to back it up. When DL makes this kind of video he compares examples that are not even the same thing and spews random information that nobody can seem to verify easily. If you are going to make a claim or pick a side publicly, you better have the information on deck to back it up, just saying shit for no reason is weird😂Also, Monte is becoming unbearable bro, definitely hard to defend that guy these days lol

All he did was acknowledge that maybe there was information we didn’t know about or information that Monte did know about that could’ve alluded to BDS getting leaked scrims, but in reality nobody knows for sure. But he clearly said, that he is assuming that to not be true and that Monte had a bad, incorrect take.

This is a little rant but hear me out. There is something very dangerous happening worldwide. There is a spike in people not caring what the truth is as long as it benefits them they will make lunatic arguments and claim it's the actual truth. More than ever before and I have no clue why it's happening more than ever now. I'm talking in general in all entertainment and politics. Just look at Palestine vs Israël. No matter what your political vieuw is we should protect human life but this basic morality is shifting and the moment this starts nobody will care about the truth.
Doublelift's mistake (mixing up Sion bot strats with laneswap) is way more harmless than accusing teams of cheating without providing evidence. And Dom went way harder on Doublelift

Regardless if Monte was correct or not about the leak, Doublelift is just such a delusional know-it-all. It was funny whenever he did Co-stream with Meteos and Sneaky and they would consistently challenge his thought process throughout games. He was a great player years ago (nobody can really argue that), but his ego always comes off as if he is correct about any take and it makes him so unlikeable. Probably why he doesn't Co-stream with them anymore.
My favorite moment and I wish someone would help me find it was when Doublelift said some crazy off the wall shi and meteos and sneaky were both immediately disagreed and tried to change the subject cause it was so bad 😂

It seems like if there was any leak, it was something minor that happened close to the game because BDS looked like they had no idea how to play against the laneswap so they didn't have a lot of time prepping against it, but also if they don't have a decent plan to react to it then it doesn't make a ton of sense that they would recognize it ahead of time on their own accord.

Am i the only one who thinks that the fact that NIP played this is even more reason to beleive that it was a scrim leak? Like scrim leaks happen legit all the time, to every top team. Someone from BDS heared that G2 tried lane swap in scrims, they hear that NIP actually did it in a stage game and thus actually beleive it.
If someone randomly told me that a team does lane swap for the first time in 6+ years, i would not give it any merit or think it is just a random scrim strat.
And lets be real the reason BDS didn't react better to the lane swap in the next game is because they couln't come up with anything, they just simply didnt know about the 3 ward setup from years ago.
Here’s why BDS was waiting in top side. Soon jinx is an immediate sign of a split map. They invaded bot and placed wards at the entrance of both entrances so they know G2 is not splitting bot. Only possible split map is top. So they clear their own top jg and spot G2 in top river. That’s why they’re top. They did their work/scouting in bot and got rewarded for it. It’s not like they all sat in their top jg blindly waiting and found them.

I think Monte had a bad take, I listened to all his arguments and I think that considering the recent NIP lane swap and the draft from G2, the lane swap possibility was in their mind from the start. From the early bottom invade, were they dropped the wards, they could see that Sion was not doing a version of their own Sion cheese, so the swap suspicion was confirmed for them. From Double video, I just think that this is his level of knowledge and honesty.

i think DL was trying to reference the MSI match vs MAD, but even then it wasn't really a swap, just sion invading w jg - in that case it could be argued that BDS was preemptively swapping the lanes so their bot wouldnt be double killed early, but even that may still be a stretch - most all of the past jinx lulu sion games didn't have swaps, just sion jg invade into bot dive

I think Montes theory doesnt seem true but like Dom said who knows what hes been told by who, but I just cant imagine if they knew it was coming or an option from before champ select why their plan to counter it is something that would of been absolutely ruined if G2 had warded as most teams do to punish the bds invade they did before stacking bush. I feel like the stack is much more angled just to stop the sion invade and all the knowledge they gain from that stack and fight works out for countering the swap as well.

I remember a time with lane swaps being very popular but not recently. Maybe season 7 or 8? But i cant say ive seen T1 do it, much less at a worlds event. But lane swaps arent a new idea in general soooo...

Think its similar in that Sion would help take red side and they dive the Aatrox top side, the main difference is it was gonna happen top instead of bot. BDS just had a good read and good position to punish the invade. You kinda saw on DLs face once watching the actual clip that it wasnt quite the same but doubled down on his first take instead of saying my bad and readjusting his viewpoint.

I'm not defending DL, but, the T1 stuff, or the similar, but, not same strategy he cites he used, are just examples, what he wanted to demonstrate was that G2 didn't invent the strategy against BDS, and neither did NIP VS FPX. The strategy is old, that's the point, sure, he might be factually incorrect in his examples, but the point stands. It's not a new strategy, it's been used before, and recently so, therefore, it's not impossible to think that a player recognized it and called it out, even if they really didn't know how to counter it perfectly.

Sure, but if he spreads false info, he should be called out on it. If it was once then sure, lapse of judgement. But DL has a pattern of talking about subjects he really doesn't understand. Unironically I think Doublelift is just actually stupid and thinks they're the same. I have watched many things from him. VoDs and streams of him talking about anything from real life to the game. The frequency in which his take is quantifiably wrong is actually insane. This is why I think he must have been an awful team mate to play with. He thinks he knows things about macro but he is almost always wrong about his calls. He was always a hands only player.
Saying he's "lying" is kinda harsh. The Sion 4-man bot lane meta was last MSI, not worlds, but it was a real thing that happened.

@@iremainunimpressed1589 It was Sion top, invading red buff then diving bot lane level 1. I think that it started as Sion dying level 1 and teleporting in time to catch his wave and later evolved into a full lane swap.

So, here's my take: The strategy is not the same but they are similar, I think that this is just the old strategy evolved now because the whole point on the strategy is to do something to get out of a bad match up in bot lane, before the lane swap wasn't possible due to what Dom explained about how the turrets work, but it seems like now it's possible (for some reason that I don't know yet) so the strategy shifted to a complete lane swap in which you still give your bot lane advantage without completely sacrificing Sion's lane?
So Doublelift clearly fkd up with his ego by saying they also did this, didn't explain his thought process and just called both strategies the exact same thing, but looking at it from BDS perspective, knowing the old strategy I think they could had figured out that G2 wanted to do something in early game to get out of the bad match since it's already known that you would be looking to do this when Jinx/Lulu just completely lose and you have a Sion then they just connected the pieces with the LPL match and realized it would be a complete lane swap instead of just the old strategy.
No, the intent and setup behind the lane swap is different. There are some overlap in how the first base is impacted, but that's not the same as lane swapping. There are numerous sion lvl cheeses and then there are lane swaps. They are two different things. Sion is not intrinsic to lane swapping, but by definition he is needed to perform certain lvl ones. There's no reason to call them the same thing. At that one just make all LOL lexicon a monolith.
