E12 | The Big Lap of WA - Lake Argyle
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 жов 2020
- This episode we backtrack from the Bungle Bungles to Lake Argyle - the largest man made freshwater lake in WA. This was suppose to be our last stop in WA before entering the NT.
We do some swimming, fishing and boating in the Lake before deciding we can't risk leaving WA with the current state of Covid restrictions.
Next week we tow the van down the infamous Tanami Track to check out Wolfe Creek Crater, and find some ripper free camps on our way back to Broome.
Massive thank you to you all for helping us reach 20,000 subscribers! We're absolutely humbled :)

You guys are grouse. That's Victorian for you guys are grouse. I watch your videos and finish with a smile every week. Thank you.
Looking forward to the 2024 big lap . Must admit the lap of WA has been awesome . So right stuck in the best state ... West is the Best !
Great vid. as usual guys, thanks so much - Peter V.
Shouldn’t worry about getting back to the job Cam the channel is on the up! You only live once buddy go for it...
Thanks for another great video. Shown some cracking places and camps that we hope to be able to get to one day. Love little Chloe's input, gives us a laugh with some of her antics. Need more shots of Cam standing near a camp-fire or at sunset sucking on a tinny, just to make us more jealous😂😂
Enjoying your style guys, keep up the good work. Googling for E13 to see ya getting stuck, and tips for us wanna be Tourers!
Love your videos. Since you already had the fire going I would have cooked the pork on that. I always finish my pork crackle off in the microwave even at home sometimes I even cook it from scratch in the microwave for a really healthy snack lol just put it on a plate with paper towel on top of crackle
I think you guys are certainly making the best of a unfortunate situation so well done , to me any trip anywhere is better than the trip to work every morning 👍👍👍
Saturday Morning Cawfee, the Wild Touring Show and #CamsCuisine... bloody Awesome.....You won't need to work, the Channel will GROWWWW.... Exponentially !
Miss that lake mind blowing how big it is.
You had me in tears when you updated on the tasty catfish....I was watching when you caught it and filleted it and said you would eat it. I thought no way catfish is only good for cats to eat. Gold.... Great video again Cheers 🍺
Haha well the lake argyle restaurant had it on the menu so we thought how bad can it be...maybe they have a special knack to cooking it but geez ours tasted awful!
Your reviews are matching what I have read / heard elsewhere. We are heading up to this region next year and were told to do Lake Argyle as a day trip from Kununurra. Were also told to give Palm Springs a miss. My destinations are being planned based on your videos, so if I have a shit trip, it's your fault. 😁👍
Haha yeah lake argyle is easily a day trip! There is much more to see and do in Kununurra. Palm Springs can definitely be missed! Avoid that stretch of Highway all together and do the Gibb instead! 👌
Awesome spots , so jealous, b safe buddy 👍👍
Nice one Guy's 👌🏻
Bit late watching today! Awesome vid again. Cruise looked great and finished with a perfect sunset. Hope your car starts at Wolfe Creek!!! Catch you guys again next Saturday. 👍👍
Disappointed not to see more of your lap of Aus but excited to see more of WA! 👍🏻
Brilliant as always. The pork roast looked delicious and getting some good cooking tips off you Cam.
Another very enjoyable episode in this great series! A tip for you on the pork Cam, just hit the skin with a butane torch after the pork is cooked and it will give you perfect crackle mate.
Thank you for more wonderful scenery, commentary and photography. The fish, err tastiness, was a reminder of a Saratoga we caught up Cape York way that was an incredible fighting fish but taste wise would have matched yours. So enjoying your travels. Stay safe.
Tough for you I imagine, but they aren’t open until April next yr? You still have produced great content and I still enjoy watching you all😀👍🏻
Awesome idea with the canned potatoes 👍... will definitely be trying that. Great videos ... look forward to them on Saturday mornings 👍👍👍
WA is probably the safest place to be atm, but still loving seeing so much of it. 2024 will be a great year of travel. Thanks for sharing your trip
Well done guys I always enjoy watching your posts, SA is open to WA residents come down and visit the weather is just starting to come good.
We're on our way from WA ! ;) And will start our first episode of our trip in the next few days on our channel :)
Its not that they don't want to visit S.A. (or anywhere else), it's just that their joke of a premier (Victoriastan is not the only state afflicted with a buffoon ), won't let them return if they leave W.A.
Great videos, keep’em coming. Living my travel dreams through you.
love'n it
Really going to miss this series when it's completed, have really enjoyed it.
Nice spot over the dam wall for a picnic. We had a great picnic there in 2017
Great video. We are currently in Karratha staying in the Discovery Park since July 2019 and working here. Its a shame we missed you guys as you headed back down. Hoping to continue to head north next year. Giving us some great places to stay.
Awesome video mate
Fantastic looks like you’s are having a great holiday keep them coming
Great to see you are still enjoying your lap of WA.
Chloe cracks me up. Another good episode Team!
Another great video. Gotta love the travel buddy.
Another great vid! Thanks Cam
Congratulations on the 20k subscribers, you're obviously doing something right !!. On a different note, I'm always impressed by Chloe's confidence in getting into the water, it's a great thing. I'm really looking forward to your continued exploration of WA, the rest of Australia will always be there when the time is right for you. Thanks for your efforts and sharing, take care and stay safe, cheers.
Fantastic guys! Sad what's going on at the moment. Wish you could travel further. Loving your videos!
Some people want to do the big lap, but i think you have started a trend.. and getting people to do laps of their own states and then venture out later and do laps of other states 🤙🤙
Lucky buggers !
Hahaha that catfish was funny as hell mate! Id of done the same thing mate!
cheers guys refreshing to watch for us here in Saudi... mouth watering pork roast mmmmmmmm
Awww so sad you wont be going through to the rest of Aus! But can totally understand the concern! We have just arrived at Lake Argyle (we're from Perth too) and will be going through to NT and then onto rest of Aus for our version of the Covid Lap as we like to call it (we'll be skipping Vic). Our first episode coming up this week ;) Love watching your vids every week
Great stuff guys
lovin the series guys, that spiced rum must be good judging by the hammering you've givin it, with your canned spuds try cutting them in half and chop up some bacon and fry in a pan. Safe travels
Yum!
Gezz guys another great video, I reckon Chloe is getting the best education she could wish for.😁👍
Hard luck.
Any way i liked the show you all did a good job.
Cheers.
I love your show and really want to see more Austraila.. I believe you trying to circle whole country..correct?
We tried the Catfish at the Resort and it was yummie, they called it Silver Gobler I think lol
Big congrats on the 20k subs guys. I was surprised when you said you were gonna eat that car fish. Not surprised when you binned it lol 😂. I’ve been there and done that but with a tarpon.
Haha apparently they now call it silver cobbler and the lake argyle restaurant was serving it on the menu!
Geez... remember us little people when ya rich n famous lol nah congrats on 20k subs
It’s very watchable and informative as always
You still haven’t convinced me on the travel buddy oven but ya getting close
Well done guys
Ayyyy that’s me & the missus at the lake Argyle pool. Orange bikini and me on the phone 😂
Haha really!
@@WildTouring yea I was gonna come say hi coz I thought it was you guys but you left the pool before I got out 😂 pretty sure I’m showing the missus your UA-cam channel, that’s why I’m on the phone 😂
Still going strong with the vids guys, well done. I'm rolling through the back catalog too and I enjoying it immensely ..... but you've flip the gas struts in the canopy it's driving me bloody nuts.
That’s how I got it 🤷♂️ haha
I haven't tried it but if you batter the cat fish belly and fry it, its ment to be quiet good. Enjoy ya travels guys
Probably the better decision really.... lots to see in WA anyway
Catfish ! I thought hell here in SA we club them and throw them away for the sharks to eat
Haha the lake argyle restaurant had it on the menu too!
A lot of familiar places there, that spot below the wall at Lake Argyle the Ord river I thought it was full of Salties ? But it was a pretty picnic spot. Love WA maybe April I heard the other day might need a passport.
I think you might be right, do remember seeing some croc warning signs.
Jeez you showed a caption saying theres 35,000 Crocs in the Lake and yall are happily swimming in it!
they are only freshies and will avoid humans. however there are about 5 big salties in there which they choose to not mention to tourists..... but they don't hang around where the tourist boats go..... not yet anyway.... one day i recon they will.
@@geoffclarke5901 Ah yea, I heard the sick Saltwater Crocs head into the freshwater river systems to die.
@@swada02 yea look not sure about that! First time I have heard that. Might be true but we get some big healthy crocs come up pretty far inland almost making it to fitzroy crossing sometimes. I believe the ones in lake argyle have been there virtually most of there life as they can’t really get back to the ocean from lake argyle....🤷🏼♂️ but I’m also no expert ssooooo yea but 100% there are salties in lake argyle and the people who confirm that really are experts😬😬
Thanks for another great video. Pitty you can't continue on the big lap now. Try keep growing subs with short vids and daily life preparation for the next big lap how to do it. Most only show the trip but the preparation and planning for your next trip is just as important.
Love it every week watch your episode's. Just a question Cam how often have you used your awning on this trip around WA ?
P.S you will make it around the big lap. Good thing come to those how wait 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
On your car
Not a lot to be honest, maybe 4 times!
Gidday Cam, now you've had the van a while, would you go a pull out bed version again ? Cheers mate good vids
The pull out bed really isn’t too much of a hassle, does get a bit tedious when you’re on the road full time but for the average joe doing weekend trips etc it would be fine. I think we will eventually update to a full size van though, now that we know the van life is for us 😂
Hay Cam hope you r all well caught my far share of fork tail cat fish in qld too also gave up trying to eat them.Luv the series hoping our van arrives before Xmas so we can get out too cheers
Fingers crossed for you!
Thanks for your update, what drone do you use
Mavik air
Lovely video. What is the fuel usage for towing a caravan, thanks.
Averaging 17.7 L per 100
@@WildTouring Thanks very much.
Thanks peeps
Another great episode. Tiff doesnt like the water much or does she go in when the camera is down.
Usually when the camera is off 🤣
@@WildTouring Glad she is enjoying such beautiful spots away from the camer.
How long did you guys take to do whole lap?
hey guys what van would you be looking at when upgrading
Not 100% sure yet.
But like the layout of the family bunks from Nova, Titanium, Sunseeker, On The Move.
How’s the slide out gas cooker going?
Great as long as it’s not windy!!
I'll take that juicy berger any day over them nasty catfish!
Cheers
Another great vlog in the outback. Congratulations. I believe the borders will come down in November for a few reasons, Qld election will be over, constitution gave the commonwealth, not states, the control of borders, states are not permitted to issue passports, and trade of commodities, includes labour, was to be free. Besides, I believe the litigant hates the Labor Party. I believe, the premier of WA was reported to have said the reason for the closure is to keep WA money in WA, not much about health there. It’ gone. Look forward to the next vlog.

WA the best state? Tell me again after you see north Queensland everyone calls Australia gods country Nth Qld is gods backyard
Looking forward to seeing more of QLD some day soon!
Its ridiculous that you cannot move freely in Australia from state to state this virus will be here for years. Its spread can be contained by some basic hygiene and wearing of masks in public closed spaces.
