The entire song is about the tragic love, that will never be, the type of first love you can't shake. When you are experiencing all of these intense feelings all at once for the first time. That beautiful tragedy that is one of those coming of age stories. It is a piece that reflects heartbreak, but it isn't afraid to show the beauty in it those feelings, the beauty of being alive. It is such an existential piece filled with prose and movement and is just so beautiful. An Oscar nomination that was well deserved for this piece.

I transcribed the sheet music (first time I ever wrote sheet music, period) and yes, the rhythm was quite tedious to work out >_

It's so weird how a love story It's marked into you especially when it has a sad ending. Like, we all want a happy ending, but when we don't have it we take it so personal that we feel like It's our story, this is so powerful and heartbreaking that we can't do anything about it but listening to this sad but somehow happy, beautiful song that reminds us all that we felt living that story that's never been ours.

That composition is a hell of a lot more complex and complicated than it first appears when you just listen to it.
Reminds me of my first love. My first experience of desire to be with another human, but was sadly rejected. It took me forever to move on - holding on to every last piece of what that love was. And now that is has become a more distant memory, it still holds true that no experience will ever be the same, and that I will always remember him as my first love. Tragic, yet undeniably so commonplace.

This song expresses so well what you feel on your first love
This book was the most phenomenal piece of literature I've ever read. It was heartbreaking and amazing. I loved the jumps from reflecting on the past to actually being in the past. The movie was also an amazing cinematic experience, I rewatch it all the time. Though it didn't as clearly show Elio's journey of emotions and thoughts, it was capturing nonetheless.

@@Nehaa18 Any level pianist can play just about anything. The thing is it will be harder for beginners to get the hang of it than someone who is advanced, but don't let a challenge deter you from a piece if you genuinely want to learn it. Start with the left hand. Then go with the right. Then combine it but very slowly. Gradually as you begin to form muscle memory with each hand you'll be able to speed up. Just keep playing it over, and over.

I'll be honest I like the original but then the lyrics started and I heard Sufjan singing in my head, this song is sad and yet the first time I heard it I knew it was a really sad song but had a really deep meaning to it. And that thought process never changed in me. I thank me brother for introducing me to all of this in the first place.
