I just want you to know that this video singlehandedly saved my love for the Morphagene, and turned it from "cool module that sounds pretty neat at times" to "indispensable source of tape loops, generation of new patterns, and all around compositional workhorse." Thank you. The jam at the end with the rotating clocks was super cool too!
Great demo. Having a hard time fitting Morphagene into my work flow. Finding it's only useful for loops if you set up like this. Otherwise just nice for textures. Still have some exploring to do.
I am just starting to learn about this module after a bit of a hiatus from my Eurorack system. I am thinking about buying one. The one step that seems fiddly to me is tapping the recording in and out. Perhaps this could be achieved automatically with some sort of one-shot logic...
Nice explanatory video :) I'm still uncomfortable with sequencers but I think a Morphagene or Phonogene would be a great step for me to turn my modular into more of a compositional tool. Maybe a sequencer will find it's way in there too eventually :)
Nice video. Why tap in the speed when you have Tempi? Tapping kind of defeats the point of having Tempi. Let it quickly calculate 1/2, 1/4, 1/16 etc for you. MACHINE Programming is simple: [Hold] PGM_A for DIVISIONS (÷) or PGM_B for MULTIPLES (*) and [tap] the associated Channel Button the number of times corresponding to the desired DIVISION (÷) or MULTIPLE (*).
...Great Video, but there is one thing I don‘t understand. When Tempi sends a Gate to the play input, It‘s like a pulse, half way up an half way down, so Morphagene stops after half of the playback. How did. you solve this problem? Thanks
This might be a firmware thing. When I made this video, I had an old version of the firmware in which the splices would always play to the end on each gate. Newer firmware will allow you to change that behavior to where the splice only plays when the gate is high, and ceases to play when the gate is low. The newer firmware allows you to make some initial settings right on the SD card so there are more options to mess with.
I'm recording into a new splice, which is a key combination. New firmware that was released after this video was made, has the option of recording into a new splice with just the rec button (without the key combination), or a gate.

What Vikram said.
yep exactly this.
This is the BEST video showing very clearly, and practically how to sample into the morphagene. thank you so much.
just got the MG a few days ago, this is the second video of yours that has been a "game changer" -- thanks again!
same here, but 5 years later

Very nice!
I've been resisting wanting one of these, but watching your tutorial there I'm starting to see the power of the device. Cool.
Last part of the video is really inspiring. 👌
Manipulated tempi is amazing in the end!
This vid just changed me life. Thx
Excellent demo, thanks a lot, very useful.
Brilliant video. You’ve just inspired me to buy a Morphagene.
very helpful, informative stuff! Patching into the play input is a great tip. Thanks for this!
This is a really really good video.
Maybe made me gas harder for a shared system than anything I've seen.
Glorious.
Thnakyou so much for this! I have watched it a billion times! Finally figured it out.
Sounds good! I am still trying to figure out how to use the Black, and Gold.
cheers pal this is exactly what I need to see
Really cool and nicely explained. I am going to have to try melodies with my MG instead of the usual random noise nonsense. Very elegant.
I just picked one up and this video got me off to a good start. Thanks!!
Very nice you explaned that really good , its great to get tips like this thanx,s for the vid,
Very helpful demo. Thank you.
tried it , works great , I used clock divider in my set up , thx for the tips
Really good stuff....and without ball bearings.
this was dang helpful mate. i am going to try and use it to build chords.
Really good tutorial, thank you.
Very nice explanation 👍 trying it right away
Beautiful techniques, thanks!
Great video, I really like that last patch!
Great work with MG!
ace! such a great workflow.
simple yet fantastic video. let´s get broke..
Carsten Daembkes lol o7
LOL
Ah c’mon, it’s less than £500…

Again - brilliant!
Sounds great.

Very informative!
That's extremely helpful! Thanks!
Does the position of the morph knob have any relevance here ?should it be 'yellow' for a reason? Thanks.
My reels are always out of sync with the original. Do you think I have to change some setting on the SD card?

I remember the Tap tempo aspect being the main function in make noise videos
Or you could just use Pamela’s New Workout and dial in /4. Or /8, or /5.3 or whatever.
I’m not hearing good things about Tempi tbh…
@@walrtbstudios5430 I like Tempi. Haven’t had any issues with it.
dude--thank you.
That was fantastic

Great video! Was this with the STO into the lxd?
Jared Donovan Paolini I think it was!
you should advertise a little! You deserve many more subs! Great video
Great video. How is your tempi setup?
I don't understand when you say "If your resolution and timing is good"...isn't there a record gate input for getting everything perfectly in time?

Excellent
Great Stuff thanks.
Great, after a few tries got it down.
Nice!
Great!
...sorry I got it. You don‘t use the gene-size Shift!
WOW
Great
Funny to watch how clever this 500$ modules realy are....sorry - ironic & bad comment 🎼
Interesting not visceral.
