Finally a honest evaluation. Bryce Young looks defeated. Early reports out of camp showed him struggling and im not sure why because Carolina did upgrade.
Now we know why Canales didn't play him in preseason, he was hiding him

If opposing teams had video of preseason Bryce to prepare, Bryce wouldn't be benched.
He would be on IR right now. Canales saw this coming as soon as he took over the team.

I find it hilarious that we all still talk about this issue like its knowable. BROCK PURDY WENT LAST IN THE DRAFT! The guy was able to come in an pick up RIGHT where Jimmy G left off. He was confident, ran the offence, wasn't overwhelmed, made throws, and executed. NO TEAM THOUGHT HE COULD. Meanwhile, Zach Wilson was drafted #2 overall and he was a total bust.
Evaluating QBs is a crap shoot and anyone that says otherwise is lying.

He was much better than Jimmy G, which is actually saying something since Jimmy was already pretty efficient.
Young needs to regain his confidence. Cant play timid in the NFL.

I remember when Cam came in and threw for 800 plus. Two losses, but damn at least you could see he was gonna be MVP.

Stroud is special! The Texans were garbage before he came along. The games Stroud missed due to concussion the Texans looked awful. Stroud is the most important reason for the turnaround in Houston.
For QBs, I think it’s because the pro game is so different from the college game and that muddies up the evaluation. It makes it hard to know what will translate and what won’t

wrong. Baker did. He revived an 0-16 Browns. and almost won RoY. He was one vote behind Saquon and set a rookie record for TDs (broken by Herbert the next year).
@andreaubin, No one was trying to build their team around Sam or Baker even though I felt Baker was a capable QB. Dave Canales wasn’t here when either one of those guys were here In fact, Dave helped Baker in Tampa.
Sam darnold actually looked good at the start of one season then Cmc got hurt and 2 offensive lineman and the team collapsed
Bryce Young is a 6th or 7 th round trade meat.
Bryce Young probably should have been about a 4th round pick to begin with anyway.
