Bryce was and is the best QB in the 2023 Draft.
Sit these young QBs and stop throwing them right to the wolves
Only problem is that's a tough division for him
And the Vikings get a comp draft pick if he leaves after the season.
Why does Simms always look like he's not slept in a month?
The Vikings are already investing in Jones to be a backup next year. He has 1 year and a half compared to Darnold who only had an offseason to learn the system. Look at Parker Romo. They brought him in during the offseason and they broguht him back. He fitted in perfectly. The Vikings are doing soem 5d chest.
better than decent. He looked good! Over 300 yds and 2 Pass TDs and 1 run TD.
not to mention the tapes is way better then the stats the amount of drops is crazy.
Hope they let alabama in and come up here ready for that rematch.
I think USC is the toughest team Notre Dame has played and their record reflects that, just look at it.
The narrative that Bryce was done in Carolina when he got benched never made any sense. Glad he is getting this chance.
Notre Dame hatred continues
The college QB's ready for the speed and power of NFL defenses are the outlier. Most transitions from college will take time.
Bryce just needed to slow down and remember he's not actually awful at football lol He looks good and if this is what he is going forward Man excited to be a panther fan!
well we didn’t 😊
The Vikings were running low on quarterbacks last year so it seems like a good move. 🤣🤣
Don’t see how the Vikes bring back Sam next season almost however far he takes them. Their starting secondary this season Smith Bynum Gilmore Griffin Murphy Not one of those guys is signed past this season. Don’t see how you throw away a top 10 pick at QB to sign a different QB and then have no secondary and think you’re going to win.
JJ is a Rockstar' will you people SHUT UP about bringing him back next year already! Not to mention the whole rookie contract thing.
nick mullens lit it up TD and yards wise but did have a lot of ints and fumbles
They are acting like JJ McCarthy is a sure success.
@@ricric9521 it's a frenzy & it's not going away anytime soon so buckle up as everybody who lives vicariously through McCarthys knee cap will keep saying stupid things every time we win in THIS current season 🤓
Y'all need to forget about how much Darnold will cost and start asking what Darnold is worth? Especially to teams that desperately need a QB. Y'all forgetting that the GM is a former Wall St trader. Sam cost $10m at the start of the season. He is younger than Joe Burrow and will likely cost somewhere in the Baker apy in 2025. It doesn't make any sense from a financially to give away an asset that you've grown from $10m to $35m for nothing in FA??? The Panthers gave up a 4th, 2nd, 6th to the Jets for Sam. Russ got two 1sts, two 2nds and 3 players, Watson was three 1sts and three day 3 picks. Sam is likely worth multiple top 50 picks at least already. The same argument applies to Jones. He is worth at least $10m on the back up market next season, and Kwesi just got him for $300k. I think Kwesi will definitely extend Darnold, and maybe Jones as well. It gives them so many options. Even if they gave Sam $70m for 2 years and Jones $10m as a backup - they'll still be spending less on their QB than half the league - and they'll have 3 QBs that might ALL be better than the starters at 6 or 8 teams. They could trade Sam to a team that misses out on a QB on draft night, and roll with Jones as a bridge and back up. They could roll with Sam as a bridge again and trade him before the deadline to a contender whose QB goes down. The Vikes lost Kirk in week 8 last season. The Cowboys, Raiders and Browns lost their starters this season. They could trade Jones before the 2025 trade deadline. They could go the whole season and trade Sam or Jones, or both, on, or before, the draft in 2026. Time to stop thinking about who starts, or is back up, and how much Sam or Jones cost - but what are they worth to someone else...
This entire season is nothing more than an audition for Slingin' Sammy. Even if he wins the Super Bowl, he's not coming back. This is JJ's team. I say they resign Danny Dimes for a small chunk of change and spend all that $35M saved on Darnold on their defense. Danny Dimes backs up JJ for a season and helps him figure out the league...then he moves on, as well. In the meantime, JJ becomes the NFC version of Mahomes ( a winner through and through) and wins the first of his four Super Bowls in the 2025 season.
So you think a Wall St finance guy will give away a valuable asset like Darnold for nothing in FA? Plus you think KOC will start a guy coming off a season long injury and hasn't played football for a year, or ever started an NFL game week 1? Even when he holds out his star TE coming off an injury for an extra month, and sat his star WR for 8 weeks with a hamstring last season? You are not really thinking about this from the point of view of the guys that will make the decisions are you.
f bomb from Chris Simms was unexpected
Bro every one been talking shit about the Vikings all year. You two included forked tongued snakes
Chris Simms has called them one of the best teams in football since week one. Feel free to watch those videos on our channel.
@ then why does he pick against them every week?.. can’t play both sides of the street him and Florio are terrible for the sport. 😁
@ he literally picked them to go 6-11 at the beginning of the year hahahahahahah
Minnesota, the land of misfit QB,s
1:10 YUP. hes needs to go to a team that makes QBs look WAAAAAAY better than they really are. Curt Cousins was and is AVERAGE AND NTHING MORE. the people AROUND you make you look good.
I feel like he is a lot like Darnol, in the sense he has never had a good team or good offensive coordinator. Jones can ball
I don't see it DJ is not it, I think the Vikings could have done much better for themselves. I don"t believe DJ is going to be a Darnold.
But will he be better than Nick Mullins?
Wait a minute? The Giants paid $47m for Jones this season, and are paying $12m for him to practice with the Vikings, and Jones is worth at least $10m next season, and Kwesi got him for $300k, ahead of 10 other teams, and you think they could have done better??? Wtf?? I think Jones at QB3 is a massive upgrade from Brett Rypien. I don't think you have the slightest clue about what the Vikes are trying to do here.
Come on Chris. RB Weisner got 158 yards on the ground against a UK strength is the run stop.
Don’t care what anyone says , Jones can be a really solid QB and Minnesota is the perfect spot for him to learn from a true offensive minded coach ..Daboll is a complete sham as a coach and not a single player has developed under him ..Dabolls red zone offense is absolutely brutal and Kafka was a much better play caller .. listening to all the Daboll apologists in NY saying “ well he developed Josh Allen “ is laughable..
Keep pounding 👑 BRYCE
I do think he will continue to get better. Hes apparently not afraid to take big hits
Book it. Even if the Vikings were to somehow win the super bowl Sam Darnold is not coming back next year. Daniel Jones might but not Sam. This is JJ McCarthy's team next year.
Dude. 1. You don't even know if JJ will be healthy enough to play week 1 next season. 2. Sam could easily be worth more than a $100m of salary cap in draft picks he could earn in a trade. 3. Kwesi is a trader. I very much doubt he will let a valuable asset like Sam walk in FA for NOTHING. 4. You might want to re-think the way you value QBs.
A starting QB that gives Minnesota a solid backup for practically nothing. Giants are paying him, Minnesota is paying league minimum, Vikings punter makes more. I doubt he’ll even play since Darnold has been solid.
Back ups are for injury. The Vikes got caught last season. Everything past that is a bargain. Kwesi bought Sam for $10m now he's worth $30m+. He bought Jones for $300k and and he's already worth $10m plus. It will be interesting to see how Kwesi takes his profit. He's a Wall St wheeler and dealer.
KEEP POUNDING🩵🖤🤍‼️
💯
I would love for Darnold to stay with us, but I know he'll get a better offer elsewhere next season. If JJ starts next season, I would much rather have DJ as a backup than Mullens.
He may want to stay where he has chemistry
@@HewNandol I second that ...& People are sure in a hurry to break the set when odds are better at winning consistently every year when you don't... Can't say enough about the other c word: continuity... It's underrated these days
It was a good move for Daniel Jones because Minnesota is a strong organization right now, but for Minnesota it doesn't make sense. Jones is a bust. This is more of a distraction than an upgrade
KOC is a great teacher for quarter backs, so this may work out well for all.
That's exactly what people were saying about Darnold 6 months ago.
@RoskoTwang Garb. Mr check down throw to the under route. 3rd & 15 and he throws a 5 yard reception to the guy the defense is intentionally leaving open in the middle. He plays terrified. The look on his face is like there's someone trying to break into his house. Keep him on the practice squad where he can wear his non contact jersey
DJ is there as a backup and nothing more. Sam is going to get a contract and leave. Vikings only have one qb under contract for next year, McCarthy. This is McCarthy’s team. There is no distraction.
Chris is such a homer.
I saw D Jones play against us this year. That pick 6 was a nice gift. I guess since Sam has played great we can sign any bum QB and they will play great. I wonder why we even drafted a QB. Pick up a bum every year and turn him into a star. We found a new way to compete. Hate to post it but it won't work that way. Sammy has much better skills than DJ. He has the arm to work KOC's system. DJ don't have an arm like his or deep accuracy either.
That's actually completely false. According to Pro Football Reference - Jones's passing accuracy has actually been a bit better than Darnold over the past 3 or 4 years. Sam's has improved over his last 3 season, and reached the same level as Kirks and Jones this season.
Vikings are in a win now mode. It would be foolish of them to start McCarthy next year thinking he would get them to a Super Bowl, or even the playoffs for that matter.
Haven't they been in win now mode since Kwesi and KOC got here? The only hiccup was Kirk's injury. Kwesi said they were doing a competitive rebuild and folks laughed. Turns out that they were all wrong. 13-4, 4-4, 9-2 is definitely competitive.
Minnesota seems like the best organization for players who have been maybe ridiculed, or who have had disappointing careers to go and play for, now I see why the Vikings teams always plays hard and are competitive most of the time, who wouldn't want to go out and give it your all, when the organization is as understanding and patient as Minnesota
And as well coached.
Dang what happened to his face?
Also, I feel all rookie qb’s need to get beat down ridiculously at every turn or lose when you think you are on a high! One, who & the h e double L do you think you are coming into the NFL & winning it all. Maybe next yr Vikings have a losing season with rookie! GO VIKES! 💜💛
Plenty of time to learn Viking offense if Sam goes down. Yes Mullens is not the guy. He did great though when Sam got knocked out of last game! Throughout Viking history quarterbacks have been knockout of big games, playoff games, Jones could be the ticket, with his experience take us to the next level if needed in my eyes. A home game after coming from 3 away games with 3 W’s. Every team is trying to upset you. Now we have a home game. Will the Vikings Gel, I sure hope so, yet they have been so disappointing in the past years. I hope AZ gets smashed badly!💜💛 GO VIKES!
I never like being beholden to a QB who gets you far in the playoffs one year if he was not "the guy" for your team initially. That said, if Sammy D gets you to the NFC A Champion game or the SB, I think you have to keep him at least one more year. I'd franchise him and give him big money for only that next year. If he performs again, then we can talk about a multi year contract worth some coin. We have seen it too many times a "backup" has one great year that gets paid way too much on a long contract to turn out to be what he always was, a backup.
@@Eichlercorp that's fair enough
A brilliant move says the guy that has talked shit about Danny dimes forever.
Danny dimes wasn’t the problem it was the contract he got
Taking JJ 10th in the draft doesn’t guarantee success and need I remind people that the success rate or a QB drafted in the 1st round is 30%-46% depending on the source and how success is defined. Except for two games Darnold has played like a top #10 QB and given that JJ hasn’t played one down of meaningful football in the NFL people need to stop anointing JJ the starting QB for next season. What is wrong with a QB sitting, growing, and continuing to learn for years, after all that plan has worked for the Packers for decades!
I know. Everyone think he is just going to step in and be awesome. He is obviously injury prone. Came from an offense that ran the ball 50 % of the time. Now we also hope he doesn’t get gun shy after watching Darnold step in and do what he has done. Can he mentally handle having high expectations laid on him? Time will tell.
Cheap initial contract. They don't want to waste those contract years.
I measured the 1st round QBs using these parameters (2000-2020) - at least 60 starts, more than 1 TD per game, at least 2 TDs to 1 INT, win loss record over .500 and came out with 50% of 1st rounders succeeding - Trubisky, Bridgewater, Jameis, Cutler falling under. Only 5% of QBs taken after the 1st round met this criteria, so my biggest conclusion was if you aren't taking a guy in the 1st, don't take one, unless you are specifically looking for a cheap back up.
100% agree, and folks are completely overlooking the option to run last year's plan again - with Sam now as the high performing bridge, but also Sam's trade value growing significantly with each game. Kwesi is a Wall St dealer and will be thinking about Darnold and Jones as assets that he has bought low, and how he can take a profit from the new value. I'd bet there is zero chance that Kwesi lets Sam walk in FA for nothing. Zero. At worst he tags him for $41m and trades him some time next season. Draft picks can be very valuable. Jefferson's first 5 seasons cost $21m, his next 4 seasons will cost $150m... Extending Sam for $35m is chump change compared to the 2 or 3 picks he could get in a trade from some QB needy team. The other team would probably pick up half of the $35m anyway if the trade was before the deadline. Some folks just can't think past the play on the field.
Yeah? And who plays in the secondary next year? Not one starter has a contract past this season. Sam is playing somewhere else next season. The only question is do they tag and trade him or satisfy themselves with a 2026 comp pick.
Teach & Preach 🙏
Great hire. Sam will be gone next year. He wants to be a starter. He doesn’t want to sit behind JJ.
Who says JJ will be the starter next year? How much time has he spent at practice with the ones?
@brianjohnson2124 Why else would they draft him?
@karenhardie1132 as a future QB. Love sat for nearly 3 seasons. As did Rodgers. McCarthy has been rehabbing his knee. Not taking snaps on the practice field with the ones. He absolutely could sit another season.
@karenhardie1132 McCarthy isn't even the backup QB yet. People want to just name him the starter. Turner at OLB hasn't been a starter yet and he's healthy. Where a guy is drafted should mean nothing. Only when a player is ready should he named a starter. Especially at QB!!!
@@brianjohnson2124 It depends on the team. I'm a niner fan. Remember the Lance fiasco. He was drafted and named the starter. Jimmy G was practicing on another field. Played very little in college was drafted high and named the starter. I agree let them sit and learn. Pickett, Ridder, Fields, Lance, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson are all backups now. Teams are not patient, they want to win now. GB has been exceptional with drafting qbs.
The Vikings turned their backs on Case Keenum after the NFC Championship game. They can do the same on Sam. Its JJMacs team moving forward.
Different GM and head coach. Night and day contrast over current coaches, positivity over negativity.
Keenum was/is a career backup. A few good games. One unbelievable fantastic play!
@@kenpearson6287LOL!
Maybe you should think about what the GM used to do. Kwesi was a Wall St trader. Sam is now a valuable asset. Do you really think Kwesi is going to let a valuable asset walk way in FA for nothing?? After he spends every day trying to sign the best players possible on the cheapest deals possible. You are not thinking like the guys who will make the decision. KOC is very cautious about putting guys back on the field after injury. Look at how long he held TJ out. He sat Jefferson out 8 weeks on his hamstring last season. If you don't start thinking like these guys, your opinions will usually be wrong.
Daboll and Schoen never thought highly of Daniel Jones, which was one of his problems.
Schoen compared him to Mahomes and gave him a 160 million dollar contract
Who thinks highly of daboll or schoen ? They are both awful
