- Here's a drum cover of Disturbed's "Voices". I don't have a story, I don't really ever think I've used Disturbed as an influence, I don't even really know why I picked it. Cool song though. Don't think I've done any of their stuff other than a cover of a cover. So there's that. After finishing this, I watched some other covers and it's neat to see most all of them really go at this song with a RL or LR footwork combo throughout. Because I am right dominant, middle aged, stuck in my ways and yelling at kids to get off my lawn - I just used my right foot as much as I could to avoid landing weird on my left foot. I attempted another few takes airing out sticks but they were god awful.
Damn I think I did a fine job of really building up some excitement and selling this cover 🤣🤣🤣. Hope y'all are great and can't thank ya enough for being kind enough to watch.

Vader! What is up my friend? Yeah man, the way their drummer Mike Wengren goes at most of these tracks, he has a very deliberate way of using both feet in these mid tempo formats. I just find it a bit smoother to dig in with my right foot more. And I honestly do think it's just an old dog not wanting to use new tricks more than anything. My friend - the Pink cover is outstanding!!!

Disturbed is freakin awesome. One of my favorite metal bands and Mike Wengren is very legendary and his drum solo is amazing. My request is In Flames Bullet Ride. Your covers are pretty killer and I have been drumming for 5 years since I was 11. RIP Joey Jordison since he died recently from Acute Transverse Myelitis.

It's cause of the dude we both have on our Mt. Rushmore LOL!!! While he takes it to a WHOLE different level, I'm wired that way too. I'm just a right dominant player and I never developed using the left foot the way Mike Wengren did. Like I said though, Mr. Rose - his right foot isn't human. Dude, I'm not sure how it slid in there the way it did because he was a generation before me but I've got a number of things that appear to be straight out of his playbook (on a lower, much more every day drummer level LOL!) He is a beast dude. I may have got it through Vinnie Paul. I studied Vinnie's every move and he was a huge Aldridge fan.

My job will not allow it but my heart will never leave a live stage. That said, my time has come and gone so I support my friends who believe their time either hasn't come & gone or is still to come. But I sure do miss a packed house, a catered dinner and an all-access pass around my neck Donnie. I was never famous and don't have any desire to be but I do miss making my living by being the drummer for the cats people came to see.

Yo GGDC! I haven't done much playing out LOL! Last few times, I've taken this one. But if I had to move fast, I've got another one packed. This one has turned into a set up that would be kind of a pain to take out. I added that Gibraltar GSDS curved rack over the kick and it ties into the two stealth systems on each side. If I needed to help a friend, I wouldn't undo all that. I'd just grab the snare, pedals, cymbals and do a Kick / Snare / Rack / Floor / Ride / Two crash set up. And I'm sure I'd forget my rug for the 233rd time HAHAHA!!!!!

Yo Chris! I'm currently going back and forth between Vic Firth American Combo SD4s (way, way lighter than anything I've ever used) and good old fashioned American Classic 5a. I have stepped back from using super heavy sticks nowadays. The 5a remains like a Shure SM-57 - it always works. Appreciate you my friend!

What is happening Ron! Buddy, my apologies for running so damn behind on my reply. So, at this time I was using Evans and I believe it was a Level 360 but I don't want to swear to that but that's not the norm for me. I typically use Remo Powerstroke Pro. I also use a Danbar click pad for the attack - HUGE fan of their product. The front head should be a Remo but it's a customized logo and I honestly forgot what brand they used for that. Most likely a Remo of some kind. Inside the kick, I'm using both a Sennheister e602, a Beta condenser and then on the outside kick head I've got a Shure beta 52. Big fan of all of those. Again, my sincere apologies for running so behind on replying bud 👊🤘
