That forehand is a thing of force and beauty.
Absolutely agree.
With great spin and importantly lefty.
Every shot is a homing missile dear lord
This is the best view actually showing what its really like. Would love to see a match with this angle
That spin is unreal
so good ..
see that spin off the shank at :10 seconds? How is that even possible?
Good spin
@@hulivar now that you mention it. that is insane
I saw a few of Nadal's training sessions at Indian Wells. He was phenomenal in practice....he was simply high intensity on every stroke ....when you see him hitting up close, the ball just explodes off his racket ! Roger just kind of glides around hits a few easy shots in practice !
2:09 crazy top spin!
Color and quality of this clay court is marvelous. Monte Carlo is the best!
This backhand stability and fluidity 😍 magnificent
I think he may be top 1000 ATP one day. Good fundamental
Yeah but these next-gen players tend to dissapoint.
@@sakshamsingh8539 It's one thing to perform well in practice sessions. Let's just wait and see if he can perform during matches too
@@autopiloot I don’t know man. May never make it past the amateur leagues.
What do you mean good fundamental. He’s useless.
@@Bock75 I dunno man his topspin forehand is at least mediocre
Monotonous repetition, that is how you do it! I love watching this guy practice and play!
thank for uploading, such a beautiful angle
The follow through is incredible. Such power.
Nobody an this planet can hit the ball like Nadal...speed...topspin...technique just only the Nadal.
Now Alcaraz probably can hit more spin..but chooses not to...Rafa's spin is insane!!!
Jeez, the amount of power, and he makes it look easy.
:10 how is it even possible to shank a ball with that kind of spin....the spin he creates man...doesn't matter how short he hits it that spin is deadly. Even on hard courts I've seen him hit a forehand that lands in service box but jump up like 15 feet, just nuts. Imo he surpasses federer with his clay dominance...clay as we all know is hardest surface to win on and yes there are clay court specialists, but we've never seen someone this dominant on clay and also dominant on the other 3 surfaces. What a time to be alive with these 3 players.
Nadal is the best ever on clay but look at his GS timeline on Wikipedia if you think he's "dominant" on grass and hard. He won the career GS but lost more frequently and to inferior players outside of clay. He's well improved on other surfaces but I would never say Nadal is a "dominant" hard or grass court player. THAT would be Roger Federer who won WIMBY (grass) and USOPEN (hard) EACH 5 straight times in the same timeframe. Nadal's topspin forehand is also less effective on those surfaces...
His forehand is like a a sinking fastball. It has so much movement, it dips and moves sideways at the same time.
And a lefty with that kind of movement is even harder to hit with
How does he get that side movement? I played a lefty who did that and found it hard to really load up on his balls
@@thugzclub4070 When the point of contact is lower he gets more, I guess it's just due to the full western grip and the sheer amount of spin... but yeah, that's not normal!
King Rafa on his clay throne
So satisfying to watch
Is this Monte Carlo? I think it's got to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing places to play on the ATP tour.
Insane power and spin!
I could watch this for hours...
On hard . he flattens ball out so much more...(in practice).....always find it funny how they don't feed each other the ball.....I saw a graphic illustrating net clearance of the big 3....Rafa averages 90 inches (from the ground) when his forehand crosses the net....Fed 70 inches....It has improved my forehand in particular greatly once I saw this graphic....ATP level guys rarely miss short,(in the net)...it either wide or long....Great video!!!
Finally an edited practice video. THanks
Beautiful angle tnx !
It will be very interesting this year. The ball will not bounce that much because of cooler weather. But the surface may become even slower because of this. Very very interesting
0:11 wtf how much topspin can you put on a ball
actually it hit the frame thats why the ball didn't went further.
wdym it was shit ball that hit the frame
@@wellyngtonamaral4097 oh i see
Topspin dropshot
@@Frank_Lee_Terrible lmao
Rafa does his split-step way earlier than the opponent in the video. That's one part of the difference between an average and the master.
totally incorrect. When the split step happens does not determine the difference between the level of these players. Not even close.
What I would give for just five minutes on court with the King of Clay. I want to feel the weight of his shots. Would you believe I've played on that court at the Monte Carlo Country Club ? I'm sure it's changed since then.
Legit am sitting closer to his grip now on my FH .. the natural top spin is insane
That grip requires that forehand. But who am i to judge i change it trough the point the way i want to play the hit. No i dont lose control over my balls
the semi western?
@@jbmw16 he prefers western on clay, and semi on faster surfaces, makes sense.
@@niveditsingh6063 He only uses semi-western
@@rafaquezada7240he uses an extreme semi western. he never had a full western grip
Nice player with good groundstrokes. Might go on to win french open one day.
great video...watching it again and again
He is a magician
Who is hitting with him?
The FH is so relaxed/natural that is always a joy to watch. BH is a lot more stiff & rigid although we all know how good that is.
伸びもスイングスピードもすごいなぁ
Dam good forehand 😃😃
This guy is my idol
My mom loved him so much she named me close enough to his name but it’s a ph
Phafael?
Will Rafa win French Open this year?
Nadal and Djokovic have great chance! I hope it's Nadal 🤞🏻
@@vaibhavm8043 Not a fan of Nole?
Nadal/Theim Finals.
Nadal vs Medvedev final RG 2020
Nadal has never lost a French Open finals. He’s currently in great form. It will take a miracle for anyone to have a chance against him.
Incredible ! What a speed!!
absolute crazy shots.. every single one. but he was very young here
I think it is 2013 cause of the bandana, his shorts and the tape below his knee
The forehand at 0:10 shows you just how much top spin he generates.
The Rafa megaspin!
He is No.1!
what a spin...
Amazing the level
Nadal or the field: easy choice, Nadal.
It's a scary forehand. A nightmare for every single hander on clay.
I feel sorry for the other guy!😂
Describe Rafa in one word?
- Tenacious
I think this is an old video? Rafa doesn't have that much hair on his head, He is using his old racquet (his current one has orange on the handle, right?), and didn't Rafa get a new head coach a few years back? Toni still seems to be in charge, and he himself looks younger than I remember. My guess is this would be sometime between 2013-2016? 2008 his hair was longer and he had a bigger build. Sometime after 2010 he started slimming down and cut his hair shorter.
its 2013!
Wow has Rafa's forehand changed. He used to raise the racket to a high peak before dropping it nearly straight down on the take back, looked very triangular. Now it looks more like Fed's half loop. In fact, it nearly identical to Fed's. I wonder when he was going to change cos it took too long to perform his old back swing. Haha, this is a nod to his rival.
Took him a decade to long to fire Uncle Tony.
This has been his forehand for at least a few years now, I'd say if anything has changed in Rafa's game the past few years its the serve and the BH .....he's hitting it flatter now.
no mercy for the ball
Its time for a new generation.
I love tennis
I hate how on tv the camera angle is way up high.
You should be able to watch a matcj from this view. You can see what the ball is doing. The speed, height, direction and spin of the ball arent visible with stnadard view
That spin is like a jet aircraft
0:12 crazy top spin..
上手いなこの人
Amazing, simply the best ever. Is this 2012?
Maybe 2013 because it seems he's using the aeropro drive 2013
@@cristianinfanta1438 Yes thank you, it's 2013 :)
It's 2013 Rafael Nadal so successfully befooled
Montecarlo 2012 or 2013
2013
Me hipnotiza ver jugar a Rafa ... jaja
Rafa is the Lebron James of tennis. Such a force and one of the greatest athletes of all time
He is better. He is closer to MJ or Bird.
LeBron does not fight very much.
Who's Rafa hitting with ?
Magnus effect in full force...
Year?
Nadal was built for clay. He was built different lol
For Rafa on clay, matches must seem like being fed balls for target practice
¿What year is this?
0:58と2:11の軌道からサービスライン付近に落ちるの普通にヤバい
what year was this recorded?
Maybe not related, still great footage, however, this is not from 2020.
too much hair for rafa
Which court is that ?
Who is the practice partner?
He is amazing too!
Probably Carlos Moya.
@@gayleschaefer6300 I don't think so, this is probably from 2012 or 2013
Robin Haase? I’m not sure
his strokes look like janko tipsarevic. it would be my guess.
This is very old footage
And?
Who is the other player?
Its a pretty old footage, dude! 2018-2020 forehand is different and more vicious! What you see here has quite clumsy backswing which has pretty long prep. time.
“clumsy” it has all the same checkpoints as roger federer’s forehand
Lies again? Clay mask
where is this? Looks like there is a huge starfort behind them?
this is an old video of him right?
Yeah it's definitely old, it's 2013 (red bandana, blue shoes, strap under the knee). Still a good training video!
Yep , uncle tony was there
I think it's monte Carlo
Everyone thinks that nadal plays with Pure Aero but actually he plays with a custom made racket which is the mixture of the pure aero and pure drive
Now he actually does play with Pure Aero. He just has it modded
the goat
Who is he hitting against?
this training was before the pandemic
we can hear how he brushes the ball BIG BIG TIME!
Was that Uncle Tony at the 2:33 mark?
yes indeed
ここまでスイングとインパクトのタイミングが滑らかだとキモいな
What ct is this?
Monte Carlo, Monaco.
it’s brutal but divine
0:09 amazing spin
Goat
Why can’t we see this camera angle at real matches???
Unreal spin
Your average spectator wouldn't know this is a better angle.
What are the major adjustments one has to make going from hardcourt to clay?
Clay îs slower. When it hits The ground The Ball loses speed but gets more 'efect'. S-o if The Ball has topspin it bounces higher than it would on hard. If it has sidespin it goes more sideways. Because it is a slower surface it îs harder to hit a winer. You have to use topspin to get better angles. You have more Time to position for The shots but it îs harder to get The Ball past your oponent. Player with a good defense are hard to beat on clay. Also you slide. În a good way. If you are comfortable sliding it helps you hit o The run or get to drop shots. And you also get dirty. Also, slower chance of injuries than on The hard.
Best advice i got was against the grain. Do NOT adjust to clay, play your usual game. Only expect the ball to come back a lot more often and be prepared to hit more shots than on fast/hard courts
I guess it's Monte Carlo 2013
Needs more topspin.
Gila tangannya kuat banget
Nadal is left handed right?
No. He plays with the wrong side
no
its the optical effect due to the camera
@@HavvaH very funny, i heard several times he is righthanded
No, right handed left
This is from 2014 I think he has more hair and the racket he is using
Surprised he has not won 20 French Opens
Is there uncle Toni or may look like him?
Monte Carlo !!!
clay court training on rafa nadal
This guy is really good, he should go pro or something idk
