I am so impressed by your art and your storytelling! I learned so much about Clara Schumann. She was even more amazing than I had realized. Nice job on your German too! This is excellently done. Great information!
Wish I could've done this for Music History II instead of a 20 page research paper!! I am currently using this video for my upper level students since she is our COM. Female composers rock!! Thanks for the awesome video, and nice research!
I watched this to learn about Clara Schumann, and kept having trouble paying attention because I couldn't stop laughing and the drawings! Nicely done :)
Clara Schumann ist ohne jede Frage "The Goat"
This was a fascinating history. It is sad that such a gifted pianist who started performing at such a young age, despite her early difficulties speaking and reading, still needed financial assistance from her friends as an adult, despite her successful concert career. And I thought that was a pattern of just US musicians, even those with great talent. Hopefully this will all change in the future.
A remarkably interesting life but one fraught with sadness and hardship. Quite a legacy though ❤ I enjoyed this and found it really informative thank you
Wonderful video! As visually interesting as it is informative, thank you! If you create another work on Clara, it would be interesting to explore the relationship between her and Liszt as she restarted her concert career later on. Very interesting and complex.
In terms of her virtuosity, she resembled Liszt, but her approach to music was the antithesis of his showy pyrotechnics-her technique was always in the service of what the composer was trying to communicate.
Thanks! And I love the minimal feature on Brahms lol. i know their >40 year “friendship or something more” story is extraordinary, but he also made her grieve a lot with his callous ways
I agree with Cynthia about your German! Your handwriting did not give away if you are German. Your lively drawings, quick passed writing, you did not talk about Brahms at all, except for mentioning his name! All together thanks sooo much for this brief description of Clara..
this is extremely well done. will there be more content from this channel ? my request would be chopin, but anything you want to do would be entertaining.
I have found no evidence that there was a common work of a song cycle by Robert and Clara. True is, that he has dedicated one to his bride.
arguably the greatest stick-figure pianist of all time

After looking at that schedule, I am convinced that Clara was really Ling Ling in disguise.

when she said "Jenny Lind" I was in awe! I thought of The Greatest Showman right away haha . Great & Detailed video btw!
My favorite piano composer behind Chopin!
Thank you 🙏 for giving people information of Clara Schumann.
She was extraordinarily. The female Liszt. Or was Franz the male Clara Schumann :)
In terms of her virtuosity, she resembled Liszt, but her approach to music was the antithesis of his showy pyrotechnics-her technique was always in the service of what the composer was trying to communicate.
@@vinista256 So well said!
@@vinista256 exactly
@@jmbechtel too bad Edison invented the phonograph a bit too late for recordings of these fantastic pianists… :)
Thanks for this education piece! I loved everything about it!

Oh to have what clara and schuman had

not enough about her and brahms
Wow! She had it hard!
She looked like Marie Curie
hahahah "gurl ur my MUSEEEE"
imagine your name is clara schumann
"Editing her late husband's works". That's quite a polite way of saying "destroying or banning performance of her late husband's works".
Poor Clara. It's what happens when you're born into a German family. Then you marry into a German family 🤣 Ich danke sich sehr für die aufklärung.
Felix was a girl???? That's news. I wonder how Felix Mendelssohn felt having a girl named after him? lol
