Learning by Helping

"Learning by Helping" shows the spontaneous helpfulness of children from some Mexican Indigenous-heritage backgrounds, where children often help at home without being asked. In a study where an instructor led a science art activity, these children also were more helpful to the instructor than children from European American families tended to be. This fits with children's resistance to help at home in many middle-class communities.
