Hello everyone! Here's another horror from L.A. Lewis. Keeping in mind recent comments I have received, there will follow a potentially SPOILING CONTENT WARNING so, please, if you consider yourself sensitive to certain themes, read below: This story has a theme of child neglect and infanticide.
Once again an awful, confusing, hopeless day relieved by a story from you. I've been meaning to compliment your increasing use of sound effects that add to rather than overwhelm the plot. I misplaced a kid a long while ago. I'm glad to know he's thriving and even gladder that he's across the pond from me. 😏 Be careful! His dad was a real devil. 😮
Wow, I think I need a disposable nappy myself after that ghastly story. And the weirdness captured and relayed by your narration is just wonderful. Thankyou.
That was amazing! I think you’re my favourite narrator on UA-cam Jasper, really expressive but never over the top. Your sound effects are perfect too, always adding to the atmosphere but never intrusive. It was a corker of a story, really creepy! Thanks loads, you’re truly much appreciated!
What a disturbing & deliciously creepy tale only enhanced even more by Jasper's brilliant narration. Thanks Jasper for this though glad I heard this in daytime hrs!
I'm going to have to listen to something else before I go to sleep or it won't be sweet dreams I'm having, Mrs Amworth I think. Thanks Jasper , brilliantly done as always.
What a story! Fantastic writing and narration! I had chills between the music, sounds, and babbling. Great picture for the video! As always, it sets both tone and mood. Thanks!
Please, everyone who loves Jasper and his amazing skills and talent......PRESS LIKE!!! Already, there's 144 views and 30 likes.......please let's give him a thumbs up ❤❤❤
Very disturbing in the best way! I wonder why it took four to put her away? Everyone just overlooked numbers two and three? Cracking good story with wonderful audio and narration. 💛
Ahh Jasper! I wonder if you could get ahold of a story, if you’re not overwhelmed with requests. A four-year-old Lizzie Bordon finds herself in a perculiar situation, told in 3rd person perspective, as imagined by Angela Carter, it’s called Lizzie’s Tiger 🐅 I found one radio adaptation but it’s not the full story, it cuts off abruptly right at the beginning of the climax. If not, I quite understand. Everything you upload is a treat for the mind! Thank you so much!
I was so giddy when I got the notification for a new story to listen to today! Thank you for a wonderful narration..... And might I say, a very creepy story. So atmospheric!
I'm glad little spawn of hell has a little house and bone toys and cat nanny. My 1.5y and 5.5y old nieces are obsessed with our demon cat, so cat nanny is the ultimate win for a kid, hellish or no. This is a great story, Poe was wrong about the most tragic thing being the death of a beautiful young woman; it's the murder of a child by its parent, and the first part of this story was really tragic.
This one was dark even by the standards of EnCrypted Horror! The cat intrigued me. I do wonder if it was the same cat mentioned earlier in the story, when the mother explained keeping her child on a raised table so that he would be less easy for the cat to reach. If so, that's quite curious. Could the cat itself have been some malignant entity that drove the mother to do what she did? Could the mother have been killing her children because the cat kept corrupting them for some purpose if its own? And who was the children's father - does the timing even make sense for it to have been the woman's husband in the last instance, when she escaped pregnant from the asylum? They must have been apart for some time at that point. All very mysterious and wonderfully creepy and atmospheric (especially given Jasper's excellent treatment of the text).
Hi, thanks for your thoughts on "The Child". I took the cat to be the cat that was trying to reach the baby. L.A. Lewis mostly feels like a fairly straightforward writer, so I hadn't really thought much more than the cat was an ordinary cat and became the adoptive parent of the abandoned baby. I thought perhaps the cat had stronger maternal instincts than the baby's mother and that was why it was trying to reach it (although that also seemed to be just an excuse for the "accidental" death). I assumed that the final pregnancy was twins and one twin ate the other. I think Lewis more-or-less implies that the mother wasn't especially faithful and the babies (some or all) were not the husband's...
@@EnCryptedHorror I like your straightforward interpretation much more than my half-baked guesses at a supernatural agency. The idea of an abandoned child raised in squalor and isolation by a predatory animal, learning how to hunt and devour any other small creatures it can get its hands on (including, potentially, its own sibling) is far more viscerally disturbing than a ghostly or demonic reading. The implication that the child will presumably seek out larger prey as it grows is also unsettling. "The Meerschaum Pipe" is the only other of Lewis's works that I'd previously read, but I see you have a few more on your channel. I'll have to check them out soon!
Oh, smawesome, or as one of the annoying 3 stooges might say, "NOICE"! 2:16 AM and I'd heard all Mr Nightmare's & Booze & Boos true (no really, and great curators, AND voice over actOrs) Reddit horrah stories, was thinkin' "wonder whot J's been upta?". POIFECKT, thanks Jasper! You never disappoint, my Limey Bruddah.
Great stuff and very well narrated! The ordinary kitchen knife really adds a certain something to it. Unfortunately I have internet brain damage and also thought of this: ua-cam.com/video/rxtlkwow37s/v-deo.html
Please show a little bit of love by doing those little UA-cam gestures that help a creator to thrive. The smallest tokens of appreciation will help the success of this truly unique channel…….you’re the absolute best Mr. L’Estrange! Thank you!
***SPOILER ALERT!!*** Enjoyed this little number! Lewis is one of my favourites. The graphic description of the babies' fates made me shiver, and for a horrible moment I thought the small white things in the monster baby's hands might turn out to be eyeballs 🤢 (I had to laugh though at 8:14... "...the man was a decent sort, if just a bit morose and unwilling to mix with the Village People." Dang, they weren't THAT bad, back in the day. 😂 (The captions actually capitalise it too!)) Well read, sir 👍
Skimming comments as the story begins and found a new word. YAY! The government calls it "eminent domain" and thinks that makes it just fine and dandy.
The nearest "GERRAJ", god I love all our different accents. 7:32 whistle & 'wherewolf's cry' sfx positively gave me the CHILLs, Jasper the MASTER! Edit: That was SPECTACULAR [er... in an... auditory sense, of couese]!
This has to be one of the creepiest stories I have ever heard. Kudos to both writer and narrato for unerving me so much. The child reminds me of the baby from Pet Semetary

Superb reading of this macabre tale by Leslie Lewis. Sound effects add tension and atmosphere to this brooding narrative.

Absolutely my favourite narrator. It’s taken me 2 years to work that out!
Aww thanks Alison 😊
@@EnCryptedHorrorI think I accused you of sounding like William Hague t’other year! 🙄
Well...it wasn't what I'd be aiming for, but William Hague has quite a nice voice. Now, if you'd said John Major...😬
Excellent-and the audio production is the best around, Jasper; you're really hitting your stride lately.
Thank you, Scout. Means a lot to hear that. Every now and then I get comments saying that the audio isn't very good and I start to doubt myself 😮💨
Considering the last story I wasn't sure about listening to this after dark. It is now dark where I be & a lot cooler too. I'm so glad
