It’s really interesting coming back to Gotye’s music as an adult. When I first listened to Making Mirrors I was 13. I’m 19 now and his music just hits me a lot deeper, accompanied by the beautiful visual animation. I just love the feeling of respecting and loving these songs like it’s the first time of heard them.

This is happening to me in this exact moment. I started rewatching "Somebody That I Used to Know", and then ended up watching 6 or 7 of his music videos in a row. Jesus, he is SO good!
This so accurately portrays my depression. The struggle to just pull myself together in the morning and put one foot in front of the other. Then I see the smile of a person I care for and I almost feel alive again only to fall apart later.

I just love the way Gotye's mind works and I love the innovation he used here with the thumb piano. No-one has ever heard that instrument played in that fashion before - brilliance.

This so accurately portrays my depression. The struggle to just pull myself together in the morning and put one foot in front of the other. Then I see the smile of a person I care for and I almost feel alive again only to fall apart later.
