Making a Leather Needle Case

I decided to make the paper case into a leather case because it was inconvenient to store it.
It is the needle that I use the most.
This is John James Needle No. 4.
The features of this needle case are
Put a rubber sponge inside so that you can put a lot of needles in a small space.
It's an easy task that doesn't need a pattern
this video I used Saddle stitch and Pony.

What kind of leather and liner did you use? Pre-stained veg or was that really nice chometan? The liner looked like plastic that wouldn’t let the needles stick/puncture it but no idea. Thank you.

The leather is oil leather and a little hard.
The inside is a rubber sponge that allows you to put in multiple needles at a time.
