That’s funny. Guess I’m one of the oddballs that actually enjoys the mint and tingle. There should be lots of options available though. Everyone is different. ❤
I didn't want to love the Laneige sleeping mask, but it is my ride or die. I wear it night and day. If you slather on a thicc layer at night, it will last all night and still be on in the morning!
I have tried putting an insanely thick layer on and it still totally sinks in to my lips, so that's interesting that it lasts for you. I still love it and use it all the time but if I wake up in the middle of the night I will totally have to reapply before I go back to sleep.
- It definitely says a lot that your top pick is the most affordable option over all of the high end lip treatments. Sometimes less is more, great video! 🙂🙂
I have tried and love the Aquafor Lip Treatment that comes in a tube with a slanted tip applicator. It really saves the day when my lips are dry and chapped. Also, although not a lip treatment, per se, I love the Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oils because they really keep my lips hydrated, and they last a long time. They're really hard to find, though!
I don’t like mint so I agree with you about mint scents. I adore a sweet vanilla scent like the Summer Fridays, a sweet berry scent like Laneige in Berry, or the slightly-tart-berry scent of the berry scented Covergirl Yummy Glosses

Ok so I’ll list my faves During the day: Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream - it’s glossy but not quite as thick as Vaseline Lip Therapy. It melts into a texture similar to Laneige if just a bit oilier. It stays in place but isn’t sticky. Over time it does actually heal your lips For Gentle Exfoliation: CARE:NEL Lip Mask - this is like if Laneige had petrolatum in it. I honestly prefer it to Laneige because it has a richer texture. My lips don’t feel super nourished once it’s off but while it’s on it feels great. This one is glossy and thick. Overnight: gel face moisturizer + Cocoa Butter Vaseline Lip Therapy - I totally get why you love it so much. It is THICCC. The Rare Beauty Liquid Lip Balms have a very similar texture to VLT. This is the ONLY THING that comes CLOSE to lasting all night on me. Since it’s mostly just occlusive I use a gel moisturizer underneath to give it something to lock in. When Actively Bleeding: Plain Vaseline - I don’t use this as a daily lip balm because it’s greasy, slides out of place, and doesn’t last very long. The one thing it excels at is protecting split lips. It sinks into place so it physically stops the bleeding and helps the cut heal faster. If I don’t use this on a split lip I’ll have it for over a week. With regular application of this it’ll heal in like 6 hours. I also have a variety of glosses I rotate through but these are my mainstays

They also have a lip balm option.. i personally enjoy the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.. Vaseline moves around too much on my mouth.. it slips and slides
No offense but I do not understand the hype around the Laneige, I have purchased it many times and something in the product causes my lips to flake. For daytime, I love the Biossance squalane rose lip balm & the Nuxe lip moisturize stick. Over night, I use Lansinoh lanolin cream & Dr Paw Paw overnight lip mask (fragrance free). Love your reviews!
Thank you Abbey for reintroducing the chapter feature in your videos again for the busy bees it’s helpful bcuz I can just listen to what I need and go about my day without having to sit for 10-15 minute. Again thank you. As always your videos are educational and informative and the word like is understatement for it. Thank you for what you doings
If you haven't tried the Lano 101 ointments, I think you'd like them. Lots of scents to choose from, and their "Lemon-Aid" has some mild chemical exfoliants so it keeps my lips so smooth.
I am such a fan of the Vasoline lip treatments! Affordable and they smell quite nice! I'd say one that really helped me are the Lano lip treatments. I prefer the multi balm/tint for when I want color, but their original ointment is perfection. I put that stuff everywhere (lips, under eyes, elbows, etc). Product does wonders!
I'm a fan of the lanolip treatment too. If you've ever had it in a sample small tube it's a pain to use because the product is so thick, but that isn't a problem with the full size. I love the strawberry untinted one. Off topic but the also make excellent hand lotion!
Thanks for this video. I am on the hunt for a really effective lip treatment. Also, thank you for always calling out the fragrance of products. Any fragrance really bothers me so I appreciate your reviews so I don't waste my money.
These need spf! Especially for vulnerable lips. 💋 My ideal would have glycerin for Hydration, urea for natural moisturizing factor and mild exfoliation, spf that doesn't stink or smell, and works well with lip color. For me its my spf cold sore chapstick (works to prevent them!) By Quantum Health Cold Stick + the urea glycerin balm/ serum at night for Hydration by Flexitol, lip balm. Way better than the agave mask was! Magic. Smooth lips, sun protection no cold sores! ❤
I agree. It’s really a good one. What I do is I first apply that on my lips before going to sleep then I seal it with a good amount of aquaphore. Try it & it’s fantastic. I always suffer with dry lips in winter so that’s one of my HG combo😊
First Aid Beauty: It has Shea butter. Shea butter is finicky when melted. If melted too high & fast, it can become grainy. Always disappointed in companies that put a poorly manufactured product.
OMG I´m obsessed with the Ultra Violette Sheen Screen hydrating lip balm spf 50. Literally saved my lips during beach holidays. Have you tried it, Abbey?
My favorite lip treatment is the Nivea Deep Moisture Night protect. It’s a Japan exclusive product so I buy it when I’m buying my sunscreens, but it’s very thick and occlusive and lasts all night. I use the Honey flavor and it smells delicious.
This winter I’ve been using and loving Bioderma lip stick balm. Because it comes in a stick form it’s the perfect product to take when I’m away from home since reapplication is easier with a lipstick type product. Overnight I use Aquaphor and always will.
Love this! My ride-or-die is Aquaphor Lip Repair but only because I don’t like sticking my finger in that little Vaseline tub (especially when it gets under my nail haha). Unrelated question: I saw Bali Body makes a face tan water product and I wonder if you’ve ever tried that? I remember you said you don’t like to use self tanners on your face, so maybe that product isn’t something you’d try. I may give it a go because I don’t like buying a separate foundation. That said, I once tried the Clarins product and it dried my skin too much. This one is supposed to not do that…but who knows.
love love love the Naturium Phyto Glow lip treatment. specifically the clear one.. maybe it's just me but i feel like the different colors have slightly different formulas. but i do love the colors for when i'm out and need to reapply after eating bc they give a slight tint without being too in your face. love the texture. i love just plain vasaline for night time! i hate pots when i'm out, it's so gross to have to put my finger in the pot then on my face😂
I tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Sleeping Mask. And I’d say it’s a dupe for the Paula’s choice lip mask. It has hyaluronic acid in it and makes my lips soooooo moisturized and soft!
Lottie London's Sweet Lips mask & balm is a good dupe for Laneige, I personally think it's better. I recommend the "totally coco" or "just juicy" scents, but the scents are faint so it doesn't matter too much.
Every night, I layer 3 lip products - PC Lip Booster, then either LRP Cicaplast Lip Balm or Avene Cicalfate Lip Cream, and then top it off with something occlusive like Cerave Healing Ointment or Naturium Lip Balm. My lips have been in great condition all winter!
I just bought Nuxe Very Rose Lip Balm ❤️ The scent is heavenly (vanilla? caramel?), and it's super moisturizing! Its like a lighter, non-sticky version of the Laneige Lip Mask imo.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats the Vaseline lip therapy for me. It HAS to be the one in the small mini tub. Regular old Vaseline is not the same to me 😂
EOS 24H Moisture Lip butter----has petrolatum and things like shea butter, avocado oil, cocoa seed butter, olive oil.... Have you tried it? It comes in fun fruity scents and tube format so don't have to stick fingers in a tub.
Love this and can't wait to try them! Have you ever tried Lanisoh cream? It's actually a nipple cream for nursing moms, but it's the absolute best thing I've tried so far. It's an extremely glossy finish, lasts quite a while, and has zero flavor. And bonus... it's sold at the drugstore in the baby aisle.
I used the FAB lip treatment as a sleeping mask but it dried my lips out so bad after 4 days that I had a split down the middle. It hurt to open my mouth. Honestly it’s kind of a terrible product.
Sorry if this has been asked already! Have you tried the Tatcha lip mask? It's a little too thick and sticky for me. I do enjoy the Vanicream ointment, it's thinner and feels better, I use at bedtime or anytime my lips feel dry.
I love Vaseline creme brulee variant the most, since vanilla and k-beauty brand Klavuu has adorable vanilla as well, I feel tiny bit more occlusive than Laneige. I fully agree on your criteria, no mint and vanilla/foodie pref. :) If honey is good smelling one Then Frudia honey-blueberry was at least very nice and surprisingly occlusive. For daytime and summer use Rohto- Mentholatum Melty Cream Lip sticks are divine and I'm sure you would love their milk vanilla, even though it isnt that occlusive but it has+25 sun protection. ;)
I picked up a little pot of a balm called frudia.I got it at TJ Maxx it’s made in Korea it’s made with some types of fruit oil I really enjoy it I’m on the hunt for a dupe of the original. Bite agave. That’s the only balm that stayed on all night long
Laneige is garbage. It's so annoying when influencers recommend it because I know it's a commission cash-grab.... especially during the Nordstrom anniversary sale. Influencers will talk about it once and that's when it's during the sale lol. I feel like Laneige is a more expensive lip smackers.
I purchased the unscented Rhode lip treatment last year, and I LOVED it. I then purchased the vanilla scented Rhode lip treatment, but it has these little balls inside, which I’m not a fan of. I repurchased the unscented one, since I loved that one last year, but this tube has those little balls/beads in there too! And it’s not exfoliant or anything like that. Do you know why sometimes lip balms have those in there??
I try to only use organic products for my lips since you're bound to ingest some of it. Currently using Henne Organics. My lips are always cracked and peeling no matter what I use. It's super frustrating. I haven't tried your #1 rec before though, so I will give that a shot.
I am actually not a fan of any mint. I absolutely cannot stand the taste. I don’t even like minty toothpaste, but I power through. I can’t even have any type of tea tree oil in hair products because I don’t like the minty smell that it has. I am 100% mint intolerant. And I would love it if more brands would come out with different lip options because it seems like almost every brands basic lip balm/mask is minty.
I'm a Vaseline girl too! Love that it's so affordable and effective. I tried the Fenty Skin Plush Puddin Lip Mask. It's nice, but I didn't think it was any better than Vaseline and much $$$!
Have you tried Jack Black’s Lip Balm? It’s sooo conditioning and it has SPF! And the best part is that it only costs $10 at Sephora 😌 that’s my favorite 💯
My go to, over and over is Paula’s Choice Balm. It’s thick, it lasts and is occlusive and the pot lasts for months. Sometimes I’ll put the lip, booster or Laneige over the top to give it a bit more slip but when that wears off, the balm stays. I also use it on cuts, and my eye brows at night as it has castor oil.
Talk about timing! I just went to your channel to look at your recommendations for vitamin C products and saw you uploaded. So… lips first THEN I’ll continue my hunt for vitamin C 😂
The dermal therapy lip balm is only a few dollars and the best i've ever used, and i've tried a lot - many of which are in this video! I got recommended by my dermatologist when going through accutane as my lips kept splitting. It actually properly heals the lips and you don't feel dry when it's not on after a few uses. It uses urea, amongst other ingredients.l have gotten so many people onto it. Highly recommend!
I'm definitely going to purchase the Vaseline Lip Therapy. As that would be the only option I can buy here in Belfast Northern Ireland and its your favourite, (Can't beat that) Thanks Abbey 😘! One question I have for you is: I purchased Dermatology Retinol Complex 0.5% just waiting on it being delivered. Would it be nec to purchase the Recovery Treatment and use this after applying Retinol or not? Just wanted to ask before using their Retinol if anything happens from first application!
I have the Vaseline Lip Treatment and, in fact, need to buy another. I was not a fan of the very popular Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It just did not stay on my lips overnight and never felt a difference. My go-to overnight Lip Balm is Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm, and my daytime, besides the Vaseline one, is Blistex Medicated Lip Balm SPF 15. I have also tried many over the years, and these are the 3 I always come back to.
I am interested in the Laniege. I am wanting something I can put on my lips while I am putting my skincare and makeup on and leave on prior to lip products. Can you use this in that way in the mornings.
Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission. Me too ABBEY! I was planning to buy the Rhode lip treatment. I'm glad you made this video. I use Aquaphor healing ointment Advanced Therapy before bedtime, it's very thick! That has worked well for me. During the day I occasionally use the Aquaphor immediate relief Lip Repair, since it's a bit hard doesnt glide on I break it in first! Joy Emu oil Banish Chapped lips, this is a thick consistency but light at the same time. I also occasionally used the brand name " Kheyleve Naturals " called Just Cheeky this contains tallow, from Grass-fed cows, Beeswax, cocoa butter, & Avocado oil! ( denotes organic ingredients) and upper eye lids too. I'm trying out a new one on my lips Brand name "mindbodygreen" Lip Balm. And lastly Vaseline healing ointment, I also use this when I'm on the run & going out in cold weather and the MDSolarSciences Hydrating sheer balm spf 30. All these have no fragrance. Just the natural scent of the cocoa butter which is the Kheyleve Naturals. 🕯✝️🤗 Thank you Abbey..⚘💞🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍🥂
Hey i was wondering if you could clarify something - does the vaseline have to be in that container as the ones in the metal tins are called vaseline lip therapy too thanks ❤
I'm not into minty scents or tingling in lip products either! You're definitely not the only one. I personally prefer no fragrance in my lip products.
That’s funny. Guess I’m one of the oddballs that actually enjoys the mint and tingle. There should be lots of options available though. Everyone is different. ❤

Ok so I’ll list my faves
During the day:
Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream -
it’s glossy but not quite as thick as Vaseline Lip Therapy. It melts into a texture similar to Laneige if just a bit oilier. It stays in place but isn’t sticky. Over time it does actually heal your lips
For Gentle Exfoliation: CARE:NEL Lip Mask - this is like if Laneige had petrolatum in it. I honestly prefer it to Laneige because it has a richer texture. My lips don’t feel super nourished once it’s off but while it’s on it feels great. This one is glossy and thick.
Overnight:

I totally get why you love it so much. It is THICCC. The Rare Beauty Liquid Lip Balms have a very similar texture to VLT. This is the ONLY THING that comes CLOSE to lasting all night on me. Since it’s mostly just occlusive I use a gel moisturizer underneath to give it something to lock in.
When Actively Bleeding:
Plain Vaseline -
I don’t use this as a daily lip balm because it’s greasy, slides out of place, and doesn’t last very long. The one thing it excels at is protecting split lips. It sinks into place so it physically stops the bleeding and helps the cut heal faster. If I don’t use this on a split lip I’ll have it for over a week.
PCA has really nice lip treatment that I've been using for years. I have tried other products but always find myself going back to it.

I try to only use organic products for my lips since you're bound to ingest some of it. Currently using Henne Organics. My lips are always cracked and peeling no matter what I use. It's super frustrating. I haven't tried your #1 rec before though, so I will give that a shot.
Happy Wednesday beautiful Abbey! 😍😘
For 30 years before bed I splatter Shea Lip Butter from The Body Shop. It’s amazing.
Try Collistar Not Ordinary treatment butter mask. It's thick but not sticky, lasts longer than most other lip products and has a nice vanilla smell!
You should try the nuxe reve de miel lip balm. It’s amazing but expensive and that’s why I prefer the Vaseline lip treatment too.
For me, nothing works like good ol’ Vaseline. I put it on every night before bed.
Rhode + Dior
I'm a Vaseline girl too! Love that it's so affordable and effective. I tried the Fenty Skin Plush Puddin Lip Mask. It's nice, but I didn't think it was any better than Vaseline and much $$$!
DROBALAR CURE MY.HSV2 COMPLETELY.
Vaseline doesn’t moisturize my lips enough 😩especially when they are crack & not hydrated but the laneige has
Have you tried Jack Black’s Lip Balm? It’s sooo conditioning and it has SPF! And the best part is that it only costs $10 at Sephora 😌 that’s my favorite 💯

My go to, over and over is Paula’s Choice Balm. It’s thick, it lasts and is occlusive and the pot lasts for months. Sometimes I’ll put the lip, booster or Laneige over the top to give it a bit more slip but when that wears off, the balm stays. I also use it on cuts, and my eye brows at night as it has castor oil.

Lanrige lastd ON ME so much longer then vaseline. But i have them both - vaseline during the day and laneige for sleeping
Lol Vaseline lip therapy!? I have that stuff in my bathroom, it's awesome.
Talk about timing! I just went to your channel to look at your recommendations for vitamin C products and saw you uploaded. So… lips first THEN I’ll continue my hunt for vitamin C 😂
Timeless vit c serum in the new glass pump bottle --the best!!!
@@Queenmarie88 I was looking at the timeless vit c or going back to TO copper peptides! Not sure which one.. Have you tried both?
The dermal therapy lip balm is only a few dollars and the best i've ever used, and i've tried a lot - many of which are in this video! I got recommended by my dermatologist when going through accutane as my lips kept splitting. It actually properly heals the lips and you don't feel dry when it's not on after a few uses. It uses urea, amongst other ingredients.l have gotten so many people onto it. Highly recommend!

Do love the Vaseline lip treatment as well. LOL. Sometimes simple just is the best 👌.
i never buy first aid products honestly - because the packaging is beyond fugly.
DROBALAR CURE MY.HSV2 COMPLETELY .
for a sleeping mask, laneige is mid. but i would rate the summer fridays balm wayyyyyy higher than the laneige glowy lip balm

I am interested in the Laniege. I am wanting something I can put on my lips while I am putting my skincare and makeup on and leave on prior to lip products. Can you use this in that way in the mornings.
Vaseline is the GOAT. Burts Bees Tinted topped with Vaseline is the bomb.
It may be my imagination, but I am convinced mint in lip products are irritating on my lips. I feel like it chaps my lips.
Have you tried Revision YouthFull Lip Replenisher?
U need to try aquaphor like it’s better then Vaseline I have switched to aquaphor
Lip therapy is the best therapy product for eczema hands down it’s the only thing I can use and not get irritation
Can someone tell me what she is wearing on her lips. The links in the Description dont work here in germany;(
As soon as the video started and you talked about lip products not lasting long vaseline cocoa butter came in my mind
You should try the Kissu lip mask from Tatcha! I think you'd love it. Very luxe like the Laneige but lasts a really long time!
DROBALAR CURE MY.HSV2 COMPLETELY .
I’m wondering which is best for helping to loosen dead skin?
Can you try the sigma beauty Conditioning lip mask, it has the metal applicator that you like
Once someone said u look like a swedish supermodel & i cant unsee it
Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission.
Thank you Abbey..⚘💞🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍🥂
I hate minty lip products too! can't stand the smell or the feeling.
Have you tried naturiums phyto lip? It has the applicator you love 😉
Abbey!! You need to try the Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask!!! I think you would love it! (Yes pricey, but so so good!)
Hey i was wondering if you could clarify something - does the vaseline have to be in that container as the ones in the metal tins are called vaseline lip therapy too thanks ❤
