you should try to make a underwater horror aquarium...sunken graveyard or imersed ancient church or something...with dead trees and so on...and put in black and/or white fish...or red fishes
I got one of those shrimp for free the other day i bought some yoyo loach and the staff member didnt see the very obvious transparent fella slip into the bag. So i called him Rodger, run away Rodger.
hey, bro love your vids, I've been watching you ever since you started. you don't talk boring like paul cuffaro or raww fishing and you bring nature into your aquariums and it's SOOO inspiring. keep up the good work
wow, such a surprise "40 amano shrimp", i am so astounded, like we haven't seen enough people adding shrimp to their freshwater scrup tank ;P sorry for the negativity, it's really a nice scape tho, just a shame it's always the same fish and shrimp and plants that are recycled every time...
Rachel O'leary also uses amono shrimp for hair algea. It has taken more than a couple of weeks to get mine under control. I love Flip Aquatics too. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Got since 1 year 4 amano's in a nano 30L, they do a tremendous job in cleaning up! Absolutely my favorite shrimps and as soon as I start up my Lido 200L tank, I will be adding some in there as well.
ordered a dozen amano shrimp from him about a year ago and i was impressed, no dead on arrival which is surprising with the cold Wisconsin weather and i actually got some bonus amanos for free in the bag!
Tell flip to ship to Canada already! And fritz to! So many great companies that us Canadians miss out on. Please get er done. Driving down once a month is becoming tougher with a new baby. Respect
I am starting my first 10 gallon planted tank and there is going to be around 12 fish. In a 10 gallon and it will be anubias java fern and some sort of red plant. It's not a red sword and it say it says easy care for plant. If anybody has any tips and what fertilizer I should use, please let me know. I was thinking going like for a no fertilizer thing because I have a pretty good light and there would be a decent borrows bioload. But please let me
Could I put them in with my betta tank? Its a 10 gallon and I've had an algae problem for so long. I always clean it manually but have been afraid to add shrimp because my betta is on the aggressive side... maybe if I add enough, a good number will survive or is that a waste
I got a fish tank question, I set up my tank about 3 years ago and for some reason I chose this bright blue gravel, now I want a more natural look for the gravel. Would it be ok to replace the gravel even though I still have fish in the tank?
Adam Conklin remove the fish to a bucket of tank water. Vacuum the gravel very thoroughly. Switch it out and watch for an ammonia spike, which probably won’t happen. When you refill, I’d add back enough of that tank water so that you’re only really doing a 50% water change, not 100%.
Hello, your videos I've seen are great.. biggest tank I had was a 200 gallon salt water setup. It went to a new home when we had our baby.. I couldn't keep up with an infant and a salt water tanks needs. I love your ancient gardens tank and forest tank. Are there videos of the setup of these tanks from the ground up? Thanks again for the inspiration to get back into the hobby.. Keith M.
I need to use both codes how long are they good for? I'm moving next month and want to order after I'm set up. I'm thinking of getting the CLEAR 3618 +PLUS FW. Have you used there lights at all? Do you recommend them?
All my codes for both should be good for a long time... hopfully forever hahah. The lights you can get with the WB tanks are AI primes, I have one right now but havent actually used it yet. I know a few other hobbiests that have had them for a while and love them, I wouldnt be too concerned about them. Hope this helps, and thanks again for the support 🙏👌👍
@@AQUAPROS That is awesome to know! You turned me on to Flip aquatics and I love there UA-cam channel and website. You do a great job promoting great people!
Is there a big difference between different shrimp and how much/what kind of algae they eat? I have 6 bloody mary shrimp in a 7.5 gallon, but it's nowhere near spotless. The algae is especially bad on the glass itself. I also have snails (unwanted travelers with the plants but now I just let them be) and they also don't seem to keep up, even though there a ton of those.
what if you had a really small tank? like a 5 gallon with a betta? would an amano shrimp be good or do they need bigger tanks? (i dont have lots of experience with this stuff)
Great video. Is Amano Shrimp safe for Betta tank? I have a 10 gallon Betta tank and I am struggling with BBA on my plants. The only other critters i have in there are two Nerite snails who seemed to be loafing off on the job.
Can these amano shrimps get eaten by the big guys? And can't get over how beautiful this ancient garden fish tank is. My favourites are your avatar floating rock one and this one.
Nice video! I guess those Amanos really do the job. When I get my first tank set up I’m planning on adding several shrimp. I am going to try and keep it “Nano”. Do you think having Amanos, rather than Cherry Reds, would throw off the whole “Nano” effect? I understand the Amanos are quite a bit larger than the Reds. What do you think?
you should put some blue cherries in there, they will eat algae like the amanos and also breed like crazy. Plus the blue will contrast the red chili rasboras really nice
I’ve never had issues with algae in Ireland 🇮🇪 maybe a tiny bit of that green algae that grows on the glass 🤷♂️ is it just in the US that people get all these crazy algae’s ?
Hey Mike, I don't know if you'll answer this, but I was just wondering if you could help me out. I have a 55 gallon tank, what nano fish would you recommend?
@@AQUAPROS thanks!! Although I'm not familiar with the cpd fish, what is it? It's my first attempt at a planted tank/ my first big tank I wish I could comment a picture lol
Your videos and aquariums are awesome, wish mine could look like your aquariums. However I would like ask is that I have a problem with GH and I've done a 50% water change and put Shrimp GH which hasn't worked. Please could you help.
Yeah, true alage eaters like amano shrimps, nerite snails, and otocinculus are algae eating machines. Which is why people tend to starve their otos or amanos because after all the algae is eaten, owners forget that algae is their main diet and if your tank doesn't have algae anymore or at least very minimal then the algae eaters are gonna starve unless you supplement with algae wafers or plants
Mad Fish Diva How expensive could they be? With shipping, I estimated they’re about four dollars each from Flip. But then again, I couldn’t find a place to enter the coupon code… so I’m just gonna buy at my ILFS.
So far they haven't, it seems to be hit or miss as far as them climbing out. Ive had them ALL do it before, other timea in other tanks they never do. This seems to be the experience with others too.
Adding livestock to deal with algae is not the answer because the critters you add may not eat the algae and just add to the bioload, You should only add livestock because you want that fish or critter not because it will keep the tank clean, thats the fish keepers job. If you have algae look at the root cause and deal with that, Eg too much/not enough light, water quality, stocking levels, plant nutrients, if you use CO2 check that.
These are pretty impressive shrimps.. if they don't like the water they will climb out of your tank and chances are you will find it dead in your kitchen or hall or wherever, they can live out of water for few minutes so sure excellent shrimps but difficult to maintain and almost impossible to breed.

absolutely wonderful idea, I'd be really happy if he makes something similar to this!
Carsten Kruse A graveyard with an overhanging bare scraggly wood “tree” would be a great scape for some galaxy fishbone pinto shrimp.
Black phantom tetras
@@Balr-ji1jk im thinking Poecilia sphenops
He could get those clear fish - you can see their bones and guts. I think a graveyard would be cool.

All commercial...no content. Sold out! (But was pretty honest about it I guess)
I've always wondered why such a giant tank and never any or enough algae eaters. That's like the number one thing to absolutely stock up on first.

Video starts at about 2 minutes, You can really skip the first 2 minutes of literally nothing.
yeah this guy talks so much
Stop talking about money for God sake, just a big Ad video xD
Amano shrimp rock at cleaning up the algae. Looking forward to seeing how they clean up the upstairs tank. I like that Flipper magnifying lens.
👍💕👍
Would be nice to see less of your face and more of your tank(s) lol
Need a video montage of the tank with some ancient music lol
At what point in the video are you not standing in front of the tank talking? Hard to check it out with you in the way
Awesome video! These kinds of things really inspire me for my own channel! Thanks for the great content!
Wow ancient gardens is looking absolutely amazing!
Thank you very much 👌👽💯
Thanks for this video!
Oh thanks, will def put at least one for my aquarium 💕🐬
Would these shrimp work with for example... ram cichlids or are they to aggressive?
Next time can you please show the tank and talk about it instead of showing you talk about the tank, while said tank is right behind you
Can we PLEASE address how freaking good that tank looks? Those bonsai trees are looking THICC.
Thank you :)

Think it's becayse of the amount of sunlight and heat they get over there compared to us, I'm from England have never had algae once.
Is the code for only for that one kind of shrimp or can I get cherry shrimp with that code?

Amano shrimp are good, but u will have to starve your fish a little bit. The amano won't eat algae if he can get worms/pellets etc.
Where did you get your bonsai trees from to create the ancient gardens

2 Armano shrimp in my 55g. They’ve kept it algae free for 1 year now
Do shrimps clean the glass of the tank, I have green spot algae in my tank.
Nerite snails do an amazing job on the algae growing on glass and other hard surfaces.
Try to add 30 cardinal tetra ??? :)
Any tricks on how to avoid vacuuming them out of the tank when you clean the tank?
Rubber band some type of netting or even cheese cloth over the end of your python or tube or whatever👍
media bags or panty hoes works well
