I can’t even begin to imagine how rewarding that must’ve been. You obviously had some knowledge of drum building prior. That drum looks, and sounds exceptional. This was beyond inspiring to watch.
Hi! I'm a woodworker and I've never heard this technique of drying the glue. It's just regular white wood glue, right? N9t contact cement? Also, how long do you let it dry? I imagine just long enough so it's dry to the touch but not like fully set yet. Very intriguing technique for sure! 👍

Could you tell us where you got the veneer from, by the way you did a great job!
The veneer was purchased from a place called Exotic Woods in Burlington, Ontario Canada.
Which brand of pre-catalyzed polyurethane did you use? I'm looking for this exact thing for a snare drum that I am doing.
I used Valspar Legacy Clear coat on this drum.
What was the inner shell made from? Is it multiple layers of maple vaneer?
Shell is 8 ply maple
Was this paper backed or wood backed veneer. Also what was approximate thickness of veneer you used?
This was bare wood both sides ( not paper backed) thickness is approx. 1/32"
That was beautiful Birdseye veneer. And you stained it black??? SMH
Yes I was going for subtlety I’ve always wanted a drum like this, which is the beauty of custom making your own stuff 😁
