    I already found your choice of the donor bike with its thoroughly proffesional slick already inspiring but seeing you flex off that big end really did it for me. The thing will be totally out of balance. You think I can actually hear it rattling during use. Very dangerous! This is a BODGE JOB that deserves all the capital letters. An A for hands on minimalism though! :-)

    Very , Very , nice idea , well done Diy , only few details , when You mounted the plate for the motor , You left many openings for dust and Water to enter in the cavity where the former crankshaft is that will ruin the berings ,You should seal it also the area of the chain that goes to the wheel ,but great job , the best to you

    This is well done, but i think you need to take out the original crank shaft and replace it with a straight shaft. The original crank shaft is designed to balance the reciprocating mass of the piston and con rod, the piston and part of the con rod have been removed so now it is out of balance and will vibrate.

    • @westmontroque7061
      @westmontroque7061 2 роки тому

      And how the lubrication will function.

    • @ats-3693
      @ats-3693 2 роки тому +6

      @@westmontroque7061 Which lubrication? For crank bearings? The same as it functions with original crank. They are ball bearings not shell bearings anyway, with no heat from combustion engine and no blowby exhaust gas leaking past rings they would actually need very little lubrication, they would probably be fine just packed with bearing grease.

    • @Meme_supplier
      @Meme_supplier 2 роки тому

      Do you mean without the counter weight? Where can you buy a shaft without a counterweight?

    • @ats-3693
      @ats-3693 2 роки тому +8

      @@Meme_supplier Huh? Just a straight shaft the same length as the existing crank shaft with the same diameters at the bearing races, you don't need to buy it just make it. Guaranteed that motor vibrates like crazy the way he has it set up. If the vibration resulting from the mass of the reciprocating piston was negligible and didn't need counterbalancing then the engine wouldn't have had a counterbalanced crankshaft to begin with, but it does and now he's taken out the mass it was counterbalancing so it's going to vibrate the exact same amount as a piston engine with no counterbalanced crankshaft. .

    Maybe a more direct path between the electric motor and the wheel would have been ideal. Coupling the motor directly to the transmission belt that is protected in the casing for example, and get rid of some parts.

  • @sjkishan
    @sjkishan 4 роки тому +3

    this method will work but you are cutting the piston at the crank skipping flywheel balance which will create more vibration and often damage engine bearing if you compensate the weight at the opposite side of the flywheel by adding weight this is going to be ideal in performence

Em caso de continuar carregando a batetia, esta consegue suprir corrente suficiente para o funcionamento do do motor elétrico? Se a resposta a todas essas perguntas forem "sim", eu gostaria de dar os meus parabéns com louvor a essa ideia

    I think it is possible to fit a bldc motor at scooter rear wheel studs with a + type clamp of pully. The plus pully, fit on scooter engine other side on stud nuts than motor fit with + pully, also connect aarm to keep motor study ly. No need to make alteration of scooty I think . Just like as water pump set mono block.

    All he had to do was change to a sealed bearing for the crankshaft , put a block off plate to keep the oil in the trans area, and it can last. Problem, its off balance, he needed to weigh the piston and rod, and add that weight to the crank rod journal. If he do those things, it will be trouble free. Other than that, good job.

  • @williamjones9395
    @williamjones9395 4 роки тому +3

    So by cutting the connecting rod off, the piston is removed but a stump of the rod is left in place? Why? That would cause an imbalance, no?
    Why not have just unbolted the rod and remove it with the piston?
    What am I missing?
    Also, must have had that chain measured just right to fit like that.
    Finally, what kind of electric motor was used?

    Great effort loved it..... however to increase the efficiency and reduce noise.
    .
    1.clutch should have been excluded and a direct coupling should have been established,
    2.motor to gearbox connection should have been done with a drive belt to reduce chain noise and the chordal action of the chain
    3. rubber bushes below the motor mounts to dampen any noise.

Also, an improved mounting on the cvt so as to prevent any damage to the motor as well as retaining the stator to provide additional power to the batteries for longer trips.

    • @dennisbecraft1303
      @dennisbecraft1303 Рік тому

      Using electricity from a battery to turn a motor that spins a stator to make electricity is wasteful.
      Just like it takes power from the original gas engine to spin the alternator, it will take power from this electric motor to make electricity with the same alternator.
      You can't even make the same amount of electricity with the alternator than you took from the battery to spin the alternator in the first place because it's an inefficient process every time you convert power from one type to another.
      Think about the Law of Conservation of Energy with a thought experiment. Imagine the performance of a 5 hp engine powering a scooter with a direct drive by chain & sprockets. Next, imagine using the same 5 hp gas engine turning a stator (alternator) that charges a battery that powers an electric motor that propels the scooter with the same type of chain drive. Will you gain or lose horsepower at the wheel?
      You will lose because an alternator is not 100% efficient at making electricity from mechanical power. Also the electricity the alternator produced is not 100% converted to chemical energy in the battery during charge and not 100% of that comes back out of the battery as chemical energy is converted back to electricity. Similarly the electricity you are now left with will not be 100% converted by the electric motor powering the scooter wheel. All those losses add up.
      So, if you have a battery powered scooter to start with, you should run your lights & horn directly from that battery rather than running a wasteful alternator from the electric motor to power your lights or to inefficiently try to recharge the main battery.
      Of couse these additive inefficiencies explain why an electric vehicle can't recharge itself on the road when even at 100% efficiency the best it could do was to break even returning the same energy back to the battery that it drew from it in the first place!
      All you have done is add weight and complexity to your vehicle.
      It gets much more complicated to engineer an efficient hybrid vehicle, but that's a whole different story.
