Hey! I'm a mantis keeper! So it appears that you lost some from the Sybilla oothecae. Each of those open slots and white thread came from a hatched baby. The cases you used are infamous for losing young nymphs and slings as there's a GAP between the sides! I recommend hatching oothecae in 32 or 80oz deli cups as the i1s will not be able to escape. Based on the ootheca, you had about 5 hatch. The others may have escaped into your house!
Came here to say this is some species of Sibylla, most likely S. pretiosa which is commonly found in the pet trade. If you want to identify it for yourself, I'd suggest searching for Roger Roy's "Révision des Sibyllinae" which is freely available online and includes a key to all the species and subspecies in the subfamily. It's in French but still pretty easy to make sense of with Google translate. Thanks for an awesome video, these are such fun little mantises!
This was like a whole little documentary, I absolutely loved learning about Solid Snake, hope we get to see more videos like this! 10/10 would watch these all day long.
This was such a delightful watch, wow! Mantids really have a way of capturing your heart- they're such surprisingly personable little creatures! I absolutely loved all your shots in this, all the footage and narration was so captivating, fantastic video as always! Sending well wishes for Solid Snake and the rest of his journey from a fellow mantid keeper!
I was very inspired by terrariums because of you made it a nice and peaceful things to do. I go to my local garden area and look at the terrariums there and I have some at home thank you
Love the video! I was wondering if you could post a video on how to care for terrariums with creatures in them such as snails, centipede etc in them? God bless!
The mantis nymph looks like a little mosquito 😂 How cute.

That's very kind! I used a Lumix gh5 with an Olympus 60mm macro and the standard Leica 60mm it came with.
