The JLTV is more than a Light Tactical Vehicle

- The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle or JLTV is a US military specifically the US Army, US Marine Corps, and US Special Operations Command program to partially replace the Humvee with a family of more survivable vehicles with larger payload. The development of JLTV is initiated by the Army and the Marine Corps as a successor to the High Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicle which has been in service since 1985. JLTV construction started in October 2008, where three industry teams received awards for the joint light tactical vehicle technology development phase. The Army released a request for proposal for the JLTV's Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase in January 2012 which then awarded the EMD contracts to AM General, Lockheed Martin Corporation, and Oshkosh Corporation in August 2012.

Really good video and that thing is a beast. I think a black box is a great idea. And Corey is a cool cat who knows his stuff. Well done.
That was interesting.
Sir can you make an in depth video in jltv's suspension.please🙂
I need this in 2042, DICE!
Impressive... Most Impressive
Wow super information video...... Nice..
Thanks for visiting
Nice
☠ This is so much better than and Also its cool af to see all the old Humvees in Ukraine fighting the good fight! HUA!! 🤘
💛💙
Yo dam 0:00 on the video we have our drill guy
Is this a lot more expensive to mass-produce compared to the humvee? for example i know taiwan has 5000+ humvees it wants to replace but cancelled its order of even a mere 300 JLTV because of the expense.
It's hard to compare because this is just so much more than the humvee is. Modern amenities are now complex and more expensive, yes. But it is more capable, and much more survivable. It's capability far surpasses, so it's more expensive than humvee.
Of course they're way more expensive but is also way more advanced
@@deansmits006what IS the price?
Which is the price?
Replacing the obsolete HMMWV which was never intended for direct combat is many years and many casualties overdue. GWOT advanced the design of "armored cars" with combat experience so it's time to put that to work. To survive JLTV will require organic anti-drone systems and those don't exist at scale yet.
it s gonna be awesome once they become surplus
I keep thinking about those people who fell from the plane?
I loving seeing this but should we be showing our enemies
How will they make money if they only have one client
@@user-qn2ee4yq4n Weelll, they said Army, Marines and Special Ops. That looks like three clients. Besides, let's say you only have one client. I guess you make your money off that client.
@@roderickcampbell2105 the us is dumping a lot of money on arms... War is business that is the modern world... Us has to sell arms to other countries to make money.... F35 is the best fighter plane on earth no competition... But if you keep it to yourself you cannot compensate all the money spent to develop it...and all that only until China or other countries develop a clone or an even better one... When you create something u sell it then u use that money to develop a better product...that's how it works
Any of this is available online and none of it is sensitive info. There really isn’t much these days that a simple google search won’t give you
Meh...
Most of the equipment the US Army fields isn't exactly "cutting edge tech" like what the US Airforce fields. It's just really good conventional tech. US Army stuff is however is rather pricey compared to other alternatives and logistically difficult to support in the numbers that it does, which is why they don't care to show it off like in this video since only the USA has both the money and the logistical capabilities to field these at the numbers they do.
The info for this stuff is available because the DoD knows not even the likes of China can afford to equip it's common infantry soldiers with this kind of vehicle nor does it have the built up institutional know how to do so effectively.
What about a police version?
Police don’t need this stuff 😂
Goofy comment
340 hp only will it be sufficient and meet the challenge of ever changing modern battlefield.
its got close to 800 torque if I remember right. Far more important.
^^
Marine Corpse
they should have done this 20 years ago
You are so wrong on so many things. You mixed up the horse power and torque ratings, you explained the black box totally wrong, and so much more. Go back to your FLMNET book. Oh, and good OPSEC 🧐
After seeing how easy tanks and the Orcs version of this, the Tigr are taken out... Also I don't believe this is any more survivable than a Humvee, where's the V shaped hull? 20 years learned nothing.
It has a modified v hull in place, as it is a utility vehicle and not a mine clearance or heavy armored vehicle. Remember that this vehicle, as well as the hummvee were never designed to be heavy or direct action vehicles, but utility and transport trucks first and foremost. With that said, we’ll still use them for direct combat but we’ve always understood that once engaged, you dismount and engage on foot
JLTV is a BILLION times more survivable than ANY HMMWV...at least.
@@Buck123four haha, I’d have to agree with that one. But there’s nothing like going 55 mph in an uparmored and trying for that 56!
@@rubenesparza7546 Fast is fun...picking up PIECES of Soldiers in about 300 pieces cuz that is what they were reduced to by a mine...not so much.
@@Buck123four agreed, and if you’ve picked up pieces of your Marines after such an event as many times as I have, I hope you come to piece with it and find the humor and peace in those serious times as I have
The JLTV sucks. The fuel nozzle is in the BII box, tarting it is a long and complicated process, and they didn't make room for chow, water, or AMMO! The solution is to use a trailer. Have you ever drove in Afghanistan with a trailer? Not exactly ready to make combat maneuvers
Auto dislike for computer narration.
Americans should first give it to Taliban for field trials.
its still shit XD
Call a few guys named MILLEY and McCONVILLE. They approved full-rate production.
