Been super happy with my REC 405w panels we put on the roof a year ago. Worth noting that if you are doing a ground mount the heat coefficient is likely a bit less of a concern as you will likely have wind helping cool the panels down a bit more versus on the roof where there is likely less airflow under the panels.
@JosePimentel-n5f Green City Solar out of Fort Meyers, I worked directly with Robert the owner, he was great, I had done a ton of research so I knew I wanted the REC Alpha 405w and iq8m micros. Put in a 16.2 kw system, 30 panels on the south and 10 on the east, which is on target to produce 25-26mw over the 12 month time frame. Yeah can't recommend Green City Solar enough, if you are in SW Florida definitely give them a call.
The back-panel circuit electrical design ALONE of Maxeon panels should move it to the #1 position on this list. You literally have a higher probability of being struck by lightning in your lifetime than having a Maxeon panel failure in its 40 Year lifespan.
The 470W panels use 8% more surface area (22.4 ft^2) compared to the 430W (20.8 ft^2) so that the new panels only produce 1.5% more power per W/ft^2. The new panels are 15% wider and 7.5% shorter so losing even 1 panel loses me 5% which leaves me with 97% of the power I would get with the Pure 2 panels.
@@jabbathespud Hadn't done the measuring in my case, so I'm glad you did (I have the 420Ws currently installed since the 430Ws have been so elusive to find). I suspect I would be in a similar position of loss because the roof is already tightly packed as it is. Gonna' take even greater efficiency to be able to milk out anymore production from this roof.
Thanks for the presentation. How about Canadian Solar TOPHiKu6 455-470W? The 455 uses N-Type cells, has a module efficiency of 22.3%, a 0.55% or less degradation rate, and temperature coefficient -0.29%. How about PEIMAR, Made in Italy, and backed up by Costco in Puerto Rico? You've never talked about PEIMAR in any of your videos.
Any thoughts on what will happen to solar and battery storage tax credits for 2025? How difficult would it be to eliminate these tax credits? These questions may be 11 months premature.
I'm on the fence about my solar installation because my roof is 19 years old and made of high-quality lifetime shingles. It looks good, with no cracks, but there is no more granular running in the gutters.

And finally, he talks about PPW the most meaningless and foolish faux metric ever introduced to this industry - a self destructive, self sabotaging industry that has failed to launch effectively because of failure to think clearly!

You should do a similar list of entry level panels so that having solar might actually make financial sense.
Yeah hands down sunpower was the highest qoute at 75k for an installation of 16 kw system last year.. That price is insane.
The new REC panels are shorter and wider than the Pure 2 panels. Turns out I can't fit as many panels and would lose production if I switched to them.

I've had good experience with both Canadian Solar and Peimar in the past. We don't see Peimar much on the US market.

Can you have the RAC alpha panels be installed with Tesla powerwall system?
Yes absolutely. You can install REC solar panels connected directly to Tesla Powerwall 3 battery + inverter.
Hi! I'm interested in your Solar University but I would like to talk to someone first, how can i get in contact with someone?
Peroskite panel should go far over 500 watts to 600 watts for standard size
What is the split cell quantity of the panels. Isn't a 144 split cell more beneficial in shading then 109 or lesser split cell?
Most of these are using 108 half-cut cells

If you have the room, I suggest ground mounted 100% of the time. Maybe on a shed or outbuilding, but on the home itself......do not do it.

Hi,
Anyone has feedback about lg solar panels
LG quit the solar panel business 2 years ago. Check out the report here: ua-cam.com/video/bShP1KiNnwk/v-deo.html
@ many thanks.
I didn’t know, their website still on without any message
strange that AIKO isn't in your review... efficiency 24%... others don't even come close ;)
Efficency doesn't mean squat
All these panels that have a vinyl backing not going to last the warranty
Cool
Max 7 not even available in the U.S.
Supposedly will be soon.
Probably Jinko
come on don't forget solar irradiance when temp is high you get more solar per sq/m which can offset the higher temp
With exception of Trina good luck finding any of this modules in stock.. announced yes but definitely not available… maybe Q2 or Q3
The REC Pure 2 panels are available from my source (NAZ Solar Electric) but have to be bought by the pallet (quantity of 33).
