It good idea to add straps around the console if hanging the wall or sitting on the edge something near fall I would recommend strapping on the console I hope would help holding on it wouldn’t fall again .
Yea common sense, put 500$ worth of hardware on a wall make sure it wont fall.

I wonder why people don't just put a little shelf behind or beside the tv, instead of wall mounting it. That way it can even stay horizontal and so avoid any liquid metal dancing.
I keep my PS5 laying flat so the liquid metal has no chance of oozing out due to gravity. If Sony was smart they should have built a barrier wall around the chip to contain the liquid metal.

Yeah, I never understood what the rational reason was behind some owners of the PS5 mounting their PS5 on the wall. Do they do it because it looks cool? Do they do it because they lack space to put it anywhere else? I mean, especially when you consider the time when the PS5 launched 3 years ago and people then were mounting their PS5 against the wall like it wasn't already difficult to get your hands on a PS5 console in those days. Just be creative and make space (if you don't have plenty around) and sit the PS5 on a desk or even the floor (if you have to) like a normal person. I have a PS3, PS4, and PS5 and they're all sitting on the same desk together. Sure it's not the most fancy-looking way to set up my consoles, but at least I know it's on a sturdy, flat-surfaced object with a very small chance of breaking down. And also, just to point this out: The launch PS5 models from 3 years back are some of the biggest and heaviest of all the Playstation models ever made, so of course there's a good chance something will be damaged if the console falls to the ground with a major impact.

I have my PS5 led down so liquid metal won't drip out on components after watching many videos of many ps5 with them standing upright
Liquid metal in ps5 was a terrible idea shouldv delayed the ps5 to work it out with thermal paste
Should not have it powered on with the fan out these systems overheat quickly

It's not the wall-mounting that was the problem here, it was the falling from said mount and impacting presumably the floor or some furniture.

I’m assuming as the customer said in his letter the console is used for disadvantaged children meaning possibly was used at a local youth club meaning things are placed away from children for safety reasons could be wrong though
