Yes, I think that is why its so emotional. By the end of episode 2, I could already feel the show is not going to be the happy light tone we saw in the previews. When Heedo said, lets be happy together even if its only temporary with that 2521 song in the background, my god I knew I'll end up crying, but was so invested already and was hoping for a happy ending anyway 😭 I will be thinking about this show for a long time.

It really speaks how well made the show is. No matter how devastated I am with how it ended, I don't regret watching it and will most likely rewatch it. Its trully became one of my alltime favorites.
I could write about this all day none stop, this Drama made me learn the meaning of love, friendship and passion. The fact that they did not reveal her husband is still a good move from the writer. I think a lot of people focused too much on the romance of the the drama that they didn’t see the beauty of the message that the writer were trying to tell. This drama highlights youth,hardship, friendship, dreams, love. And at end of the day nothing will be permanent so it’s important to enjoy the moment to the fullest. Yes the ending wasn’t a typical happy ending but it gave some of a closure. I personally felt like the older audience (20+) related alot more to the drama and understood the meaningful end. Overall very comforting drama.
I'm part of the older audience and I did understand and reminisce the past and made me reflect as well. I do understand why they had to end the relationship. But the ending just felt rushed, and I wanted just to know how the squad was doing and if they still kept in touch because after all, we saw them grow onscreen. But other than that, it's really a wonderful coming of age drama with a great cast.

this drama was so well written, and i genuinely enjoyed every moment while watching it. though many were unsatisfied with the ending, i felt like it was the best way to end it. the whole drama was a dive into heedo's teenage years and her love story, so not knowing who minchae's father is or how the others are currently doing is not that important at all. in the end, we were able to see the growth of heedo and were able to receive closure between her and yijin for their breakup. the whole drama was bittersweet, and i truly felt as if i was growing with heedo throughout the past few months. i laughed and cried as i watched her develop into a better fencer and a more mature person and her journey definitely made me appreciate my own precious times while i'm young.
the opinions when it comes to the ending was divided, but i really liked how it ended. they were each other's strength during tough times, but sometimes love isn't enough to keep two people together. this drama has been realistic from beginning to end, and i applaud all the cast & crew for their hard work.
Same but I think it did felt short of showing if both have truly moved on and are happy at present, because somehow it felt they were still yearning for each other. So that clarity would have made a big difference.

Would you make the same decision? If you were Baek Yi-jin, would you make the same decision? Would you get the job in New York without knowing whether or not you can return to Korea for good? Get the job and New York and push your relationship with Hee Do, try to make it through the distance like Yurim and his boyfriend did? Knowing that Hee Do gree up alone and lonely? It was not the life she wanted for herself, and her future kids, to experience what she experienced with her mother. She needs someone to be present, someone who is strong enough to be vulnerable in front of her and be open to all the support she could give. Hee Do will only keep on hurting and get lonelier if they go long distance. If you're Baek Yi-jin would you not let her go? And if you were Hee Do, will you let Yijin rehect the Job in New York, after you've witnessed how hard Yijin went through to get a job, and keep the job, after witnessing how hard it was for him to keep their family together, know he has a family to support a family who depends on him, if you were Na Hee Do will you have the courage to be selfish and let Yijin stay in Korea? It was nothing but love and all because they loved each other so much that they chose to let each other go. Sometimes, it takes greater love to leave than to stay. And it takes the greatest love of all to let go than to hold on. I understand they had to break up then and I've seen couplea in real life who broke up but in the end found happiness in another partner. That was what at least to have seen in the adult Na Heedo. But Minchae's dad was also far away which mades me more sad. I think they should have shown a happy present life for Heedo as she had such an inspirational story in fencing and was a ball of sunshine when she was younger.
No it's not, BaekDo loves aren't that shallow before eps 15 tho. Too many plot holes for this ending, also the writers didn't make a good closure for both BaekDo in the present time. Still this is a well written '22 kdrama with bad ending, it is not a bittersweet ending.. it's too bitter for me to taste the sweetness :(((

Baek Yi Jin got his family back together, Na Hee Do has lived her dream so there's nothing more to see. It doesn't matter if they married someone else or not, the drama is solely about their youth.

My kokoro will never be daijoubu. That shoelace scene will be the most beautiful break up scene. No one's at fault for their parting, not even the bookstore owner. Yijin already knew Heedo's side because of her lost diary but instead of coming back to her, he chose not to and accepted their farewell. We all have our great love and for Yijin it was Heedo. I understand that the story was mainly Heedo's POV but at least, I hope I've seen more of a genuinely happy Yijin (apart from their family reunion). He's been through so much and he found solace in Heedo. That last scene is not helping. In another life, BaekDo.
the most painful goodbyes in kdrama.. the time was not on their side and time drifted them apart. the ending is okay i wasn't really interested who's menchae's father is and the last scene where yijin forgot the password made me a bit disappointed bcoz even in the last minute i was hoping they will show his face hehe . its missing i mean they could have also shown how yijin looked like and if he is married also . but 2521 will hold a special place in my heart, i hope to see them in another project
it's been 2 years today 2521 first aired, And hearing this still a n hard challenge, there is a beautiful trauma that I have to overcome first. And it's not that easy when the pain from 2 Years ago still living in my mind.
There is no need to know who the husband is. It doesn't matter. The story portrayed the endless and pure love between Hee Do and Yi Jin. They've lived fully in every moment and to protect that, the breakup was needed. The last time they reached for each other at the bus stop is heartbreaking..It was the end of their fate. I love this drama especially because I could see every characters growing
This song hurts so bad. I wished that Baekdo would have a happy ending because they deserved it. They supported each other through their ups and downs but timing and misunderstanding ruined their relationship. On the positive side, at least they had a proper goodbye at the bus stop before Yijin's departure. This will be my #1 Kdrama as of now ❤️

That one scene where hee-do and yi-jin were at the bus stop and he tied her shoe lace was just agh idek how to explain it. Makes my heart feel like it's being squeezed
The bus stop scene is just unforgettable. They loved each other so much. Baek Ji Yin and Na Hee Do forever in my heart. A masterpiece here, but still, they could make a less painful ending for them and us.
Even though the ending of this was really heartbreaking and sad, I still can't find myself to hate or be disappointed with this drama because the wonderful memories, good friendships/relationships and life lessons far outweighs the breakup. Like their happy times and memories are what stood out to me in this drama, and they were of big comfort to me. It truly is bittersweet!
i really love the fact that this drama is not the usual cliche dramas that ive seen before.. its so refreshing and realistic and somehow the plot and storyline is similar to what is happening to most of us... i have a very² bad year due to my break up with my ex boyfriend bcs i loved him so much to the core, and i thought we could stay together forever, get married and have kids together.. but somehow life was not getting easy on us and we kept on breaking each other apart... and at the end, we went our own separate ways... it was so painful for me and i tried my best to move on by myself, but God, it was very tough... but then, this drama taught me something... even tho we dont end up with each other, but i should be grateful for all of the happy memories we created, and instead of crying over them, i should smile everytime those memories cross my mind.. Life is so short to be filled with sadness.. i realize that im still young and there is a lot more rooms for me to create new happy memories that i can recall back and smile at, one day when im old ❤ thank you to the scriptwriters, directors, crews, actors and actresses for this wonderful drama ❤ i've never been this grateful just by watching a drama.. this is the drama that will forever attached to my heart... i can finally move on peacefully ❤
I probably would’ve been disappointed, almost upset had I watched this show when I was younger. Now that I’m almost 30, I can genuinely say this hit home on so many levels - two people don’t have to hate each other to end things, life happens and we move on - maintaining respect for one another and continuing to cherish those memories.
This was the best drama that I had the pleasure to watch in many years. If not ever. The highs, the lows, the joys, the pain. It really reminded me of a relationship that I had once. I will admit that I laughed a lot, rooted for Na Hee Do & it actually had tears rolling down my cheeks several different times. The best show ever. I wished they had another season but as adults (and without spoiling it) with the whole gang again. But a happy ending.
this drama was the first to make me realize how young I still am and how much I've yet to experience. Easily one of the best dramas for me. The ending didn't just make me cry but it was alot. They put in so much work and passion in this story and you can honestly feel how much care they placed into it. I can talk about this drama all day, I honestly have not yet moved on. But I'm so thankful for watching this, I learned so much and I'm hopeful to learn more in my own starting now!
I'm really sad about the ending coz' its too realistic. 2521 really touched my heart and comfort me in my darkest days and helps me to keep going in life even I'm barely surviving. The script was perfect and the story is realistic it just hurts that only the Baekdo ship is the only one who didn't end up together. In another life, Baekdo is an endgame. All characters got me hooked, no one will ever replace Taeyang squad in my heart, it will always have a special place. I don't even know if I'm able to move on from the pain the ending caused, but I'll try my best to understand that they're both their first and greatest love but not both their last love. We all knew it's gonna end sadly but I still hoped there will be a plot twist but no it didn't happen. It was such a good drama. Whenever a new episode aired I instantly searched if drama sites uploaded and added subtitles. I've waited every week patiently since from the start. It was an experience for me. Since Reply 1988, I haven't felt this empty and got post series depression after a drama ended. I know despite Hee Do's all regrets and despair of not being able to alter the breakup moment with sweet sentences, she lived happily. And Yurim, Jiwoong, Seung wan got their happy endings too. I'm just so sad that we don't know anything about Yi Jin's present. His first love is still Hee Do, but did he even marry? After that last interview of Hee Do, Yi Jin's all years are missing because we're seeing the whole situation from Hee Do's perspective and she has no idea about him doing what with his life, while she knows about other three character. Idk how to describe I'm just so sad. The ending was so bittersweet, I wanted to cry but couldn't because my heart felt too heavy.

Been ugly crying all day whenever i see posts about 2521 😅 rewatched a couple of times and it still hurts like hell. Funny thing is that after watching the finale, all the moments from ep 1 to 15 hurts all the more now, even the happy moments hurt so good. Sad but beautiful and bittersweet all at the same time.

I don't really give a review after watching a kdrama but this kdrama is very realistic. Not all relationship turns into a happy ending. Not all break-ups are like them. As for 2521, they have a nice closure and happy on each other's decision. Thinking wayback on your past makes you realize the importance of life's lesson and the memories you shared with other people especially to the one you loved. Time flies. "Nothing is permanent in this world, except change". This kdrama teaches us the value of time, friendship, love, achievements, support system, and life it's not always about happiness, it also includes sorrows for us to be a grown up and a complete person.

He was my Hee-Do. We just have our own world. And unfortunately, we also broke up. Today, I learned that he’s now happy with someone else. This drama makes me cry more to see that they broke up in the end despite the struggles they have to make their relationship work. Maybe because we are too attached and focus on the happy ending but this drama also realized us that not all are in happy ending and this is the reality that not our first love is our forever love. It also show that how much pain we encounter it also teaches to become more stronger to face new challenges and find our new the one. It really speaks how well made the show is. No matter how devastated I am with how it ended, I don't regret watching it and will most likely rewatch it. Its trully became one of my alltime favorites.

I think a lot of people focused too much on the romance of the the drama that they didn’t see the beauty of the message that the writer were trying to tell. This drama highlights youth,hardship, friendship, dreams, love. And at end of the day nothing will be permanent so it’s important to enjoy the moment to the fullest. Yes the ending wasn’t a typical happy ending but it gave some of a closure. I personally felt like the older audience (20+) related alot more to the drama and understood the meaningful end. Overall very comforting drama.
I'm part of the older audience and I did understand and reminisce the past and made me reflect as well.
I do understand why they had to end the relationship. But the ending just felt rushed, and I wanted just to know how the squad was doing and if they still kept in touch because after all, we saw them grow onscreen. But other than that, it's really a wonderful coming of age drama with a great cast.

this drama was so well written, and i genuinely enjoyed every moment while watching it. though many were unsatisfied with the ending, i felt like it was the best way to end it. the whole drama was a dive into heedo's teenage years and her love story, so not knowing who minchae's father is or how the others are currently doing is not that important at all. in the end, we were able to see the growth of heedo and were able to receive closure between her and yijin for their breakup. the whole drama was bittersweet, and i truly felt as if i was growing with heedo throughout the past few months. i laughed and cried as i watched her develop into a better fencer and a more mature person and her journey definitely made me appreciate my own precious times while i'm young.

the opinions when it comes to the ending was divided, but i really liked how it ended. they were each other's strength during tough times, but sometimes love isn't enough to keep two people together. this drama has been realistic from beginning to end, and i applaud all the cast & crew for their hard work.

I understand they had to break up then and I've seen couplea in real life who broke up but in the end found happiness in another partner. That was what at least to have seen in the adult Na Heedo. But Minchae's dad was also far away which mades me more sad. I think they should have shown a happy present life for Heedo as she had such an inspirational story in fencing and was a ball of sunshine when she was younger.
The ending reflects life so realistically that it's tough for us to accept.

No it's not, BaekDo loves aren't that shallow before eps 15 tho. Too many plot holes for this ending, also the writers didn't make a good closure for both BaekDo in the present time. Still this is a well written '22 kdrama with bad ending, it is not a bittersweet ending.. it's too bitter for me to taste the sweetness :(((

Personally, I think it's satisfactory. Things change and life goes on. Baek Yi Jin got his family back together, Na Hee Do has lived her dream so there's nothing more to see. It doesn't matter if they married someone else or not, the drama is solely about their youth.

No one's at fault for their parting, not even the bookstore owner. Yijin already knew Heedo's side because of her lost diary but instead of coming back to her, he chose not to and accepted their farewell. We all have our great love and for Yijin it was Heedo. I understand that the story was mainly Heedo's POV but at least, I hope I've seen more of a genuinely happy Yijin (apart from their family reunion). He's been through so much and he found solace in Heedo. That last scene is not helping. In another life, BaekDo.

the most painful goodbyes in kdrama.. the time was not on their side and time drifted them apart. the ending is okay i wasn't really interested who's menchae's father is and the last scene where yijin forgot the password made me a bit disappointed bcoz even in the last minute i was hoping they will show his face hehe . its missing i mean they could have also shown how yijin looked like and if he is married also . but 2521 will hold a special place in my heart, i hope to see them in another project

it's been 2 years today 2521 first aired, And hearing this still a n hard challenge, there is a beautiful trauma that I have to overcome first. And it's not that easy when the pain from 2 Years ago still living in my mind.
There is no need to know who the husband is. It doesn't matter. The story portrayed the endless and pure love between Hee Do and Yi Jin. They've lived fully in every moment and to protect that, the breakup was needed. The last time they reached for each other at the bus stop is heartbreaking..It was the end of their fate. I love this drama especially because I could see every characters growing
This song hurts so bad. I wished that Baekdo would have a happy ending because they deserved it. They supported each other through their ups and downs but timing and misunderstanding ruined their relationship. On the positive side, at least they had a proper goodbye at the bus stop before Yijin's departure. This will be my #1 Kdrama as of now ❤️

Even though the ending of this was really heartbreaking and sad, I still can't find myself to hate or be disappointed with this drama because the wonderful memories, good friendships/relationships and life lessons far outweighs the breakup. Like their happy times and memories are what stood out to me in this drama, and they were of big comfort to me. It truly is bittersweet!
i really love the fact that this drama is not the usual cliche dramas that ive seen before.. its so refreshing and realistic and somehow the plot and storyline is similar to what is happening to most of us... i have a very² bad year due to my break up with my ex boyfriend bcs i loved him so much to the core, and i thought we could stay together forever, get married and have kids together.. but somehow life was not getting easy on us and we kept on breaking each other apart... and at the end, we went our own separate ways... it was so painful for me and i tried my best to move on by myself, but God, it was very tough... but then, this drama taught me something... even tho we dont end up with each other, but i should be grateful for all of the happy memories we created, and instead of crying over them, i should smile everytime those memories cross my mind.. Life is so short to be filled with sadness.. i realize that im still young and there is a lot more rooms for me to create new happy memories that i can recall back and smile at, one day when im old ❤ thank you to the scriptwriters, directors, crews, actors and actresses for this wonderful drama ❤ i've never been this grateful just by watching a drama.. this is the drama that will forever attached to my heart... i can finally move on peacefully ❤

I probably would’ve been disappointed, almost upset had I watched this show when I was younger. Now that I’m almost 30, I can genuinely say this hit home on so many levels - two people don’t have to hate each other to end things, life happens and we move on - maintaining respect for one another and continuing to cherish those memories.
This was the best drama that I had the pleasure to watch in many years. If not ever. The highs, the lows, the joys, the pain. It really reminded me of a relationship that I had once. I will admit that I laughed a lot, rooted for Na Hee Do & it actually had tears rolling down my cheeks several different times. The best show ever. I wished they had another season but as adults (and without spoiling it) with the whole gang again. But a happy ending.
this drama was the first to make me realize how young I still am and how much I've yet to experience. Easily one of the best dramas for me. The ending didn't just make me cry but it was alot. They put in so much work and passion in this story and you can honestly feel how much care they placed into it. I can talk about this drama all day, I honestly have not yet moved on. But I'm so thankful for watching this, I learned so much and I'm hopeful to learn more in my own starting now!
I'm really sad about the ending coz' its too realistic. 2521 really touched my heart and comfort me in my darkest days and helps me to keep going in life even I'm barely surviving. The script was perfect and the story is realistic it just hurts that only the Baekdo ship is the only one who didn't end up together. In another life, Baekdo is an endgame. All characters got me hooked, no one will ever replace Taeyang squad in my heart, it will always have a special place. I don't even know if I'm able to move on from the pain the ending caused, but I'll try my best to understand that they're both their first and greatest love but not both their last love. I love you, twenty five twenty one! 😭

This true love between Yijinn and Hee do is rare in modern lifestyle. People follow looks, money and fame but forget to love soul and accept who we are. We all knew it's gonna end sadly but I still hoped there will be a plot twist but no it didn't happen. It was such a good drama. Whenever a new episode aired I instantly searched if drama sites uploaded and added subtitles. I've waited every week patiently since from the start. It was an experience for me. Since Reply 1988, I haven't felt this empty and got post series depression after a drama ended. I know despite Hee Do's all regrets and despair of not being able to alter the breakup moment with sweet sentences, she lived happily. And Yurim, Jiwoong, Seung wan got their happy endings too. I'm just so sad that we don't know anything about Yi Jin's present. His first love is still Hee Do, but did he even marry? After that last interview of Hee Do, Yi Jin's all years are missing because we're seeing the whole situation from Hee Do's perspective and she has no idea about him doing what with his life, while she knows about other three character. Idk how to describe I'm just so sad. The ending was so bittersweet, I wanted to cry but couldn't because my heart felt too heavy.

I don't really give a review after watching a kdrama but this kdrama is very realistic. Not all relationship turns into a happy ending. Not all break-ups are like them. As for 2521, they have a nice closure and happy on each other's decision. Thinking wayback on your past makes you realize the importance of life's lesson and the memories you shared with other people especially to the one you loved. Time flies. "Nothing is permanent in this world, except change". This kdrama teaches us the value of time, friendship, love, achievements, support system, and life it's not always about happiness, it also includes sorrows for us to be a grown up and a complete person.
