Funny enough, I was looking through the comments section at the beginning of the video and when I saw this part, I was gonna say why aren't people talking about Aaron saying this and then I ran into this comment and another one straight away lol

I get the sense something similar would happen as with Jeong Jeong. A previous avatar might lay down the law and essentially order it. But then again, not every person is as spiritually enlightened as JJ, so I might be completely wrong.
Lycanthromancer I mean, I feel like the Avatar is the understood exception. After all, there have been female Avatars before, and it's not like these traditions are only a century old. The Avatar, being the very embodiment of Balance, is unquestionably fit to learn combat waterbending, and saying otherwise is tantamount to defying the will of the Spirits.

Guys, benders are not Pokémon. They're not inherently resistant against their own element. Firebenders can still get burnt, Earthbenders can still get crushed, Waterbenders can still get frozen/drowned/impaled on ice and Airbenders can still suffocate.

A skilled bender can survive with a lot less damage a lot of the time, however, but that's technique and conditioning rather than some innate quality.

I find it strange that some people have a hard time wrapping their head around that when one of the primary characters is a fire bender whose defining physical feature is a burn scar that encompasses almost half of his face.

The thing I always disliked about the old man, is that he wouldn't break his customs to help out the world! But he would break them for his own sentimental reasons....he is hypocrisy incarnate.
For some people, their prejudices are more important than food and water.
To be absolutely fair, it might not be purely him doing it because Katara is the granddaughter of the woman he loved, but rather him starting to chew on the idea that maybe his prejudices aren't worth holding. Here's a girl before him that could have been his own granddaughter (and who might well be, who knows ?), and his sexist attitude cost him that potential life by driving his fiance away. He missed out on, potentially, an entire lifetime of happy experiences and a family because he was such an asshole.

Iroh already said it in one of the earlier episodes: The bending art of Fire relies heavily on the bender's breath. Can you exhale for an ulimited amount of time? I don't think so. So why should firebenders be able to?

One of my favorite episodes of S1, solely because of Katara. Yeah, she's like my top favorite character other than Iroh of course... because he's like everyone's favorite lol. Anyways, she was such a badass in this episode and I just love how you could also see how far she's come since the first episode.
Can't wait for the finale! I'm excited for that and for you guys finally entering S2 (^.^)

I love how everyone agrees that Iroh doesn't count when we talk about the best characters, because he is the undisputed number one lol. I prefer Sokka and Zuko tbh, I feel like they're the ones that mature the most throughout the series haha

I still don’t think anyone has pointed this out, maybe because it’s so obvious, but the reason the north is so much better off is because there’s hundreds of water benders to build the fortress and keep it safe while back in the south the only water bender was katara so everything was made mostly by hand
i love how at 22:00 it was like the longer aeron did it the more sense it made for everyone. fun episode to watch excited for the finale countdown.

No kidding. I actually saw this pop up and I thought "Oh wow, they released it a few hours early, it's not even Monday yet!" and then I realize it totally is Monday, and they actually just barely made it in. Oh well, didn't need to sleep for another 20 minutes anyway.
same I was so surprised when I got the notification I was like what?! are they doing 2 episodes per week and i didn't knew? my reaction to realizing that because it is Monday was worth filming.
It was pretty easy for me to forget. I live down here in Australia, and it's more than halfway through Tuesday.

One of the big reasons why Katara is my absolute favorite character from the show is this episode. She's loving and compassionate, but also strong willed, determined, and willing to fight for her beliefs. Not to mention she holds her own against a water bending master, it really shows not only how far her water bending has come, but how much she's grown and matured as a character.

To be fair. If they put the next two episodes in one video they will still probably narrow it down to 10 minutes total. I'd rather them show 10 minutes of reactions for each 22 min episode than for them to show 10 minutes of reaction for both episodes combined. Even if that means uploading them a week apart.
Separating them out gives us more reaction and more discussion in the long run and thats what I want.
What about uploading both episodes next Monday? Just for the multi-part finales

Guys seriously, take a look at what the return of series has done to them. The guys are super tired and running very close to breaking heir schedule. It'd be crazy and even a bit cruel to ask for them to release 2 episodes next week when it already takes them giving all they possibly can to make it 1 a week
It's only 20 minutes extra... Besides, I can't imagine that when they finish watching the first part, they can restrain themselves from immediately watching the finale afterward! It'd be a nice bonus, considering that this is one of the most popular series they're doing. But we'll see.
You guys should totally attempt a bending fan film. Your lightsaber choreography is so creative I would LOVE to see how you guys would implement bending in a live action short film.

They have finally reached the point where Avatar stops being one of the best animated series ever to become just one of the best stories ever.

Benders do get tired you know. A fire bender could not keep constant fire going for very long, especially as the room fills with smoke and they have a harder time breathing.

In the last week we have recorded, edited, and released over 20 videos, ranging from 10 minutes to well over an hour. We do a huge amount of content over a very broad amount of franchises and interests. Its a very large amount of work to do, and as we work hard to do it, we still get comments like this saying we aren't doing enough, or are lazy, or don't care about fans because we don't focus on one set of videos more then another. Its very frustrating to read. Perhaps you just don't understand the workload, but saying we need to "loosen up" and that our way is "sooo dumb" comes across slightly mean spirited.

ScRreaМz regardless of what the content itself is, this is still work and should be looked at and respected as such. they react to a wide variety of things and a ton of different shows. it's gonna take some time, but if you actually care about blindwave and their reactions and opinions, you'll be patient.
ScRreaМz I see what you're saying. You're trying to say that because Avatar is short, has a lot of episodes, and has been over for a while, that the crew should have a quicker reaction pace?
Well none of that really matters. You gotta realize that none of that is a factor for their reaction pace, because at the end of the day the crew is already INCREDIBLY busy. They're already working their hardest. And because of the limitations and lack of resources they have right now, they would have to cut something else out in order to do more Avatar, and that wouldn't make sense. There's nothing dumb about their Avatar pace; a lot of us think it's a perfect pave
+ScRreaMz I'm just gonna say this again in case you didn't get it, and maybe you can tell this to any other commenters who are saying similar things as you. It's pretty simple, the crew really doesn't have the time to edit more than 1 Avatar episode a week. Sure for some special situations they have said that they MIGHT watch multiple episodes back to back, but for the time being, they do not have the time to edit more than 1 per week. On top of that, they enjoy having the analysis at the end, if they binge-recorded the series, they would not be able to do that.
Now I will say, and tell this to any other commenters who might seem interested. There is a Blind Wave Discord that people can join and if you want to talk about Avatar there, we have a specific Avatar chat room with lots of Avatar experts there. Maybe that will help while you wait for each episode.

I always thought it was really interesting that Bryke(creators of Avatar) decided to say the North Pole woman aren't allowed to waterbend. It really shapes the story, and makes this universe more realistic. It really shows that each nation has it's own culture like it should have. That was really wonderful.

I'm going to say just this Bending of any element is not unlimited it all depends on the Chi reserves of the person in Avatar land energy is determined by Chi, everyone has it but only a select few that have more of it can use it those that can use it are called benders, bending is normally dependent on a person's genetics but that's a discussion for after you guys finish the show. Anyway short answer is they can't bend forever they have to take breaks to eat and sleep in order to recover chi if they don't then they faint or even die.
not once have they said anything about chi reserves. Chi is simply internal energies. those internal energies never fade.

4:09 so the whole show is littered with hints, but this is the first dead give away that nobody, not even children, should've missed for the connection between the elements in the Avatar cycle and the seasons.
