  • When it comes to Wildlife in springtime, there isnt a place in the world (That I have visited at least) which is home to as many species as the North Norfolk Coast. Join me and JP from ‪@JPLamoureuxsTravels‬as we take a Wildlife Walk around Norfolk Wildlife Trusts Cley Marshes reserve and see a lifetime first alongside plenty of other birds and nature.

@@AShotOfWildlife I reckon it's q rare to have a place where you can see garden, river and sea birds also birds of prey and even more urban associated birds all in the same day. I think East Norfolk is definitely the place to be for avian diversity.. It might be interesting to see which Norfolk hide wins the 'Most Bird Species In 2 Hours Challenge'..
Keep up the good work Liam! 🌟👍

Wonderful way to spend time with a cuppa! ☕️ We go to Brownsea Island when we holiday in Dorset each year and they have a large population of Spoonbills along with Egrets, as well as many of the species in your video. We also get many species where we live in Leigh-on-Sea, including masses of Brent Geese over winter, which we always listen out for. When we can hear their noise from the estuary after they first arrive it always puts a big smile on our faces, and we actually have a couple of small oil paintings by a local artist of a flock of them over the estuary 😎
Cheers, have a great week 👍🍀🍻

Thank you! Brownsea island is on my radar for this year actually, by accident. I was trying to find the island near essex where red squirrels have been reintroduced and accidentally looked up the wrong place. Hopefully I will get to visit this year. Thanks for watching!

@@AShotOfWildlife: You will LOVE it there! My record for Red Squirrels is 12 in one day, but they was in Autumn when it is quieter and they tend to be more active and bold as they are harvesting! Usually if you are patient, you will see two or three, though one on occasion I lucked out totally! 🙄

Superb selection of shore birds there! Worth six hours braving the drizzle and rain for all those unfamiliar species. Reminds me of a lucky day one Winter on Rye Estuary, Sussex. Lots of avocets, oystercatchers, exotic ducks/geese and more. A team of foxes was wading through the mud in the hope of ambushing an unwary bird, but every stalking attempt I watched was a failure. The marsh harriers must be fairly common around Norfolk as you've seen them in other places. And the spoonbill is a beast! Cheers.

Only last week I went to do a spot of Mullet fishing at the sluice along Cley beach road, I didn't see a fish but I don't really mind as a White-tailed Sea Eagle spent about an hour circling above my head, with the added bonus of it being mobbed by a Red Kite!!...........The size difference was incredible!!

Hi Helena. Thanks for watching and enjoying this video. I suspect the seals died of natural causes, one was a pup and one a large bull. There's a very large population nearby.
The camera I use is a nikon p950 and I am not sure with the tripod, it's actually a telescope tripod but I needed something fairly heavy to stop the wind from making all my footage shaky. I hope that helps a little bit.

There may have been escapees in the past, but the chance of them surviving, breeding and finding enough prey - whilst never being caught on cctv, never hit by a car, never shot by a farmer and never filmed on anything other than a potato, is just too far fetched for me.

yeah- Black tailed's do have a very slight upward kink to the bill, and the reason they look different to the ones featured earlier is because they're not as advanced in their moult.
The leg thing is useful when the birds are on land, but one spanner in the mix is the presence of the Icelandic race of Black Tailed Godwits - which make up the vast majority of wintering Black Tails in Britain. They have shorter bills and legs on average, making their silhouette closer to Bar Tails.
The basic thing to look for is streaking when it comes to godwits. Notice how (except for a few new black feathers) these birds have plain grey plumage. Bar Tails always show feathers that have a central dark streak along the vein, making them look superficially like Curlew.
A good place to see Bar Tails is Titchwell beach, further west on that Norfolk coast. They love poking around the exposed ouster beds at low tide, and they mix with Black Tails on the lagoons too - which makes the comparison a lot easier.
