This was actually Mogadore Ohio. Not Akron. The folks on board were commercial property executives. This was a tragic event. Thankfully, the apartments were empty at the time of impact.
It's shocking how the captain is not monitoring the instruments while he is supposed to do it. I did not see the complete episode but this is what I expect, from the video the decent rate looks so dangerously high.
I know the girl who caught her reaction to the plane crash on Snapchat. She's been openly speaking about it in more recent years and says he was scared at first but was later happy to have survived but also sympathized with the residents that lost everything and the people that lost their lives.
Cause: Loss of control and subsequent controlled flight into terrain due to reduced airspeed in the approach phase to land due to crew error and fatigue of both pilots
My dad lived a few blocks away from the plane crash, there was a Pizza place and a railroad near the crash site, Me and my mom were living in the Phillipines ATM, my dad skyped me and my mom sayin he was working in the basement and a plane crashed causing a blackout.
These short videos doesn’t always make sense because of the details that are left out. When they finally saw the ground, they looked like they were still high enough to avoid buildings. I would have thought that they at least knew how high they actually were.

The overcast wasn't bad... It's just the clouds are at 1,800 feet above sea level. That's pretty low. That doesn't give much space to stay high above the ground and have a clear view while preparing to land. The temperature and wind were fine.
@@bwwestman no, ATIS gives pilots latest weather report where ceiling is always reported AGL, not ASL. OVC 018 is pretty high, that’s VMC. People who made this video are not aviators.
Dummies flew into a building in so so weather. Must have gotten their rating from an Italian correspondence course and working for minimum wage. They would have known about weather before departure on a 40 minute flight. This is just inexcusable.
They crash next to my shop . That house they crashed into was like 30 feet from where I park my car lol I found a cross today with a bunch of names and found out about the crash crazy I was on vacation and never heard about it I thought the house caught of fire just because and not because of a plan crash
Akron and Dayton are like a 20 minute flight. The weather is normally not that different from each other. And pilots dont search for the runway like this. They follow instruments down to a set altitude and location (usually 200' about a half mile from the runway) and if they dont see it due top clouds or visibility, they have to abort the landing, (a missed approach). Here, they went too low and failed to do a missed approach and were not even on the runway centerline during the approach apparently. I only trust American pilots.
They address this in the episode. The pilots were doing a non-precision approach, so they would have needed to see the runway at a much higher altitude. Still, they knew how far away there were so their low altitude should have been an immediate red flag that caused them to do a missed approach.
