I’d look at Jesus and say, “I’m with him.”
I used to say I don’t want to be defined by the cross but the man who died upon it
Yes Jesus is only way we will be in the kingdom I am the way the truth and the life. And no man can come unto the Father except by me..
Hallelujah! Wonderfully said my brother 🙏🏻😇❤️
Wow.
Humbling
The thief on the cross was one of the Elect. He demonstrated that fact by the things that he said to the other thief and to Jesus.
If not for God's Election, no one would 'make it into heaven', because not one of us is worthy. Jesus paid for all the sins of the Elect. Our election is demonstrated by our God given faith which we didn't earn through any personal merit, but strictly by His Election of those whom HE chose.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Rom 9:15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
Rom 9:16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.
Womp womp, grab what you want and use it however you want, it won't make it make sense.
Forgive me, what he does he say at 2:00
1:58
said i can come
2:01
now now that's the
2:04
that is the only answer
2:06
that is the only answer
God will not say "Why should I let you into heaven". What exactly did God say through his Son Jesus? "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:22-23 DO YOU KNOW HIM? The only true God and Jesus Christ whom he hath sent? (John 17:1-3) We cannot know him apart from his Word. What did Jesus say in the next verses of Matthew 7? Read them for yourself. We have no need of man to teach us. We can be taught by God.
"But the anointing which ye have received of him abide in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." 1 John 2:27
Jesus knows the heart. People need to understand. It was Jesus compassion but then why not the other guy on his cross??? It was the remorse in his heart that made the difference. Look at Saul and David. Judas and Peter. Samson, Moses and Abraham. They all did things wrong but had a heart of remorse for their sins but Saul and Judas didn't. It may seem Judas did but he hung himself. He died in his sin. The other thief did as well. He had no remorse.
I agree with the comment that this 'story' is emotionally appealing but not scripturally accurate. Why not say what the Bible really says. I think the whole scenario of the angels getting flustered as to why the thief is at the entrance to heaven and being asked questions is silly. And there is no indication that the Lord said, " You can come ", but He did say. " Today, you will be with me in Paradise ". Emphasis on the word 'will' as opposed to ' may'. God saved the thief by regenerating him and gave him the gift of eternal life. It was not up to the thief to make an optional 'decision' .
