Thanks for creating this. Richard Rohr, who pushes the Enneagram, in his book the "Universal Christ" believes everyone can become the Christ - including his dog 'Venus.' This has infiltrated a lot of ministries including Bible seminaries for Assembly of God. After researching and finding out my Church, one where I ministered over 25 years, had a marriage counseling course doing the Enneagram, I began to speak out in love. Along with others, I was kicked out. Sorry for sharing the link to my own documentary - but if anyone is interested, I do include a lot of info on Richard Rohr and also how the TV series "the Chosen" is influenced by Richard Rohr. We need to be voices of TRUTH to bring light to this evil.
It's strange how evangelical churches begin using an external practice or "hidden knowledge" and are then willing to die on that hill harder than they'd ever fight for the validity of the Bible.

I think if you have a New Age background you can recognize this stuff pretty quickly. God saved me out of all of that so I was really sorry to see it take such a hold on a lot of churches and ministries.

This entire video is a firm confirmation of my conviction on this topic. The first time I heard the word enneagram nd saw the symbol that represents it, I felt in my spirit that something about it was very wrong. One of the speakers at the recent conference has promoted it at my church and my research traced it origins to the occult. I have run from it ever since. Thank you for this clear, Biblical response to this topic. Our great God does not need any help in sanctify his children.

I remember taking the Enneagram test many years ago, and it concluded that I was a "peacemaker" (#9). If I had taken it seriously, I probably would be very cautious to never say or do anything offensive because it would violate my role as a "peacemaker." I can see why the Enneagram can be very dangerous and destructive.
tbqh a peacemaker is not the same as a peacekeeper.
There's a difference between trying to become a thing and classifying it. You could have a natural gift for making peace, it's not as though that's now how you follow God. Just keep doing what's right and hey maybe you'll make peace between folks.

I'd probably be categorized as a 5 because I have a math degree. By the enneagram standards, I believe my "core sin" should be avarice or greed? LOLOL yeah, I'm well aware of my sins and that one ranks pretty low, honestly.
I find that tests like Meyer-Briggs and Enneagram tell me more about the people who designed the test, and more about people who put stock in the tests as an analytical tool, than they do about me.
Also, the clip from 5:15 where the guy admits he just made up the origin of the enneagram to legitimize is was hilarious.

I really appreciate this video.. a couple years ago, a friend of mine recommended a book to me about the Enneagram. I can’t remember the name of it and don’t think it’s important. It’s somewhere in my room and I never finished it. I “identified” with more than one “type” and was ultimately more confused than before… then came across a few videos from other Christian content creators speaking out against it and how it’s saturating the church and should be viewed with discernment.. after that, I didn’t feel peace about exploring it in depth and still haven’t touched that book since I got it a couple years ago. And honestly I think I’ll just get rid of it. I can definitely see ties to divination and I don’t want that derailing my pursuit of God and His truth, laid out in scripture.
Burn the book. Get it out of your house. Do not donate it for some other person to be deceived.

The Barnum Effect. This is why actual psychologists, including staunch atheist ones, openly mock the Enneagram. It is pure nonsense that relies heavily on the Barnum Effect which proves that you can fool a person into thinking you've nailed their "personality" by A) saying a bunch of crap that applies to every human being on the planet while simultaneously B) assuring the individual that this exclusively applies to only them.

Even before I ever researched the enneagram, I knew by looking at its shape that something isn’t right about it. I can’t believe Christians fall for it. Thanks for the info.

The shape isn't really that important. It looks like a pentagram, but. . .so what? The Bible doesn't really warn us about shapes per se. But the fact that it was created by two psychedelic-drug slamming hippies who then lied about it being ancient and also claimed they channeled it through the archangel metatron or, my favorite, "The Green Q'Tub" or however you spell it? LOLOL! Christian or not, anyone should hear that and walk away, because these are the ramblings of a crazy person. But society/culture have also created the dumb notion that crazy = genius. Sometimes crazy is just crazy.
It's a very marketable idea. People absolutely LOVE to label themselves and put themselves into boxes. It makes them feel purposed and special without really having done anything but complete a questionnaire. This is especially popular with silly Western women.
i left a church in socal about a year and a half ago, because the “pastor” and his wife could not stop talking about this teaching. what really sickened me was the way the pastor tried to justify using it by bringing up the most ridiculous examples. then would have 9 week series where the sermons were about the types of personalities. then the pastor wrote his own book about it 🤦🏻♂️

The first time I heard about this was at a GG me and my husband were new to. One of the leaders mentioned it and it threw me off because coming from a new age practicing background it sounded very new age, I looked into it for myself out of curiosity and sure enough that’s exactly what it was. So unfortunate how many so called churches are pushing this and promoting it.
This chaotic leadership and gullibility are small examples of the intense deception and hysterical 'seeing of Jesus in the desert' that Jesus told us would come in the last days.

God will reveal His plan for each of us if we turn to Christ and the His Work on the Cross. His resurrection is Our resurrection and the plan of our Salvation. Amen.
Thank you for shining a light on enneagram! If one pursued knowing Jesus with as much time and effort that “finding your number” takes; His light would shine brightly. I’m sorry I opened this can of worms before fully investigating it.
My neighbors & the church i used to go to got into this racket, finally got to talk with them, making the case it just seems like another horoscope, limiting hte many facets God created us with to bless the church & witness to the lost. God bless, Pastor!
Thanks for breaking this down. I never buy into these personality things, because I've seen what things like the Zodiac and whatnot say about my personality, and it is always SO off. So I always disregard personality tests and such. But this one being SO rampant was very concerning.

I was introduced to the Enneagram at a Christian Women's retreat. I was dismayed to find that each time I took the test I was a different number. When I found out it was of the Occult, I realized why I never fit into any of these 9 personality traits. So sad that as Christians we are led astray by the World when we are told to not be of the World.
Even if we set aside the occult stuff, you're describing the Barnum Effect. Even if said effect is not necessarily occult in one's opinion, it's wildly dishonest at best.
Bertram Forer discovered it, I believe in the mid-20th century, when he visited a newsstand and bought a little book of horoscopes (he did not believe in astrology, so stay with me here). He sat down and copied a couple notes from each of the star signs into a single list. He then took a group of his students and gave them a test he wrote up, and told them to answer them to the best of their ability, no wrong answers, and they would all get a VERY SPECIFIC "personality inventory" at the end. You can probably see where this is going. He took all the completed tests and after awhile gave each student their "inventory" and asked them to read it, think about it, and give HIM a score for how accurate they thought it was on a scale of 1 to 5. If memory serves the average accuracy was about 4.2, or 84% accurate. This test must be AMAZING, right? Nah, he just gave every student the exact same "inventory", on purpose, thus proving that things like astrology work by using vague descriptions that can apply to anyone at any given. Statements like, "you think you have a lot of untapped potential", or "sometimes you are very confident, other times you are less sure of yourself!" Pure nonsense. The enneagram is the same thing, it just includes a blatant abuse of harmonic series from mathematics to make it look more science-y.

Thank you for putting together such a clear and short video! I've heard much of this from many of the sources you used, which are also helpful and informative. I especially appreciate that this is short and perhaps easier for some I may want to share it with to watch it.
Mens Rea. A critical component when we talk about people's actions and beliefs. I am glad it was raised towards the end of the video, but too often (it seems) people are declared demonic not through a deliberation of their own, but a lack of knowledge. This video has done a great service in giving accurate and sound knowledge about this issue. However, the audience must keep mens rea in mind when considering it's implications on our fellow believers.

Same thing, all of it is under the umbrella of Jungian typology and Jung was obsessed with mythology and other nonsense. He wrote a book called "The 7 Sermons to the Dead" where he wrote a bunch of gibberish, and I believe it was "The Red Book" or something else where he documented his experience with voices in his head he said were not his own, and named them Philemon.
Philemon told Carl all the secrets of life, including that the name of the highest god is Abraxas, which is the "worm king of the earth", or Satan 😂 Again, even if we are not hardcore Bible-believing Christians, a person like Carl Jung should be taken with a king-sized grain of salt. Patrick Vermeren, not a Christian author, referred to Jung as being profoundly "mentally ill".
So they required this for a medical job I applied for apart of the hiring process. How do you go about that as a Christian ?
You could say it's against your religion and they shouldn't be able to dq you, but if they did, you could either sue them or just walk away. I'd walk away because I wouldn't want to work for or around such people.

I never caught on to the Enneagram trend. It weirds me out that they use something that looks similar to a pentagram. I do like the DISC personality test and Greg Smalley's fear button analysis. But only as something entertaining and mildly useful but not something to put much stock into.

I don’t suppose you’ve done anything on general psychology and the Bible? I’ve seen this sort of thing upheld by my psychology major friends, and I was wondering if there’s a lot more in ‘pop psychology’ like this to be wary of.
I don't see why this coming from an heretical, Roman Catholic mystic would make it any more scriptural than if it energed directly from New Age and the occult. It is pervasive though. Even Focus on the Family has done episodes promoting this bunkum.
There is only one basic thing we need to know about ourselves. It is what it says in Jeremiah 17:9; that the human heart is wicked and deceived, beyond what we can know. The cure is God's Holy Word, the bible and the power of the true Christ in our lives, not another jesus. That "Christians" are even going with this, proves Jeremiah to be right on and shows how deceived people are becoming in this age.

Where we get so messed up mindsets or in the wrong spirits or ger caught up with how evil everything or fallen is 😔 when want to believe how God loves us all and want to be healed healthy and restored with all good health and real right love for each other... Instead of becoming so messed up in a cycle or being sinful or evil. Im seriously mad but knowing how much we are all in need to Gods true loving Holy Spirit and be in Christ saviour that what He has done for us in saving and forgiveness of our sin.

Thank you for this! I had been wondering about this and already had some red flags. I have been seeing more "coaches" popping up in the Christian counseling field and it's a little troublesome. People I thought were very biblically astute are falling for this.
what a disaster!! My so called "christian" university promotes the enneagram- infected with psychology.
My pastor's daughter was into this. When I brought up my concerns about it to her, she was very polite but largely dismissive. 😕 I tried.

Matthew 10:39 Luke 17:33 and John 12:25 speak finding/saving of one's "life" .the word translated to life is psyche: the root word for psychology. Let anything that advertises itself as helping you to find yourself, be used as a red flag concerning anyone who pushes for such "gifts"
One of my classes in the Summer has the book The Road Back to You and I raised concern with my instructor about it and she said that it is often taken negatively, but she was saying similar to what you were saying here with the way that she was trying to justify it. I am going to Crown College, which is a Christian/Missionary Alliance university that has a firm foundation on Scripture and so by seeing this book, it is definitely concerning. I'm getting my Bachelor's in Christian Ministry and my Master's in Christian Leadership. I have been against the Enneagram because of the fact that I know it is not of GOD.
This was so good. Thank you for sharing the gospel. I was one of those Christians who just didn’t really see the harm. I had some friends and family take the test, so they could learn more about themselves. Now I think that I can better show them how God has made us and who we are in Christ. Instead of using some pagan tool that just leads away from the cross instead of towards it.

This is apostasy! Christ has never told us to go on a journey of self-discovery or find ourselves. This is ungodly and vain. Jesus Himself says "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." Christ tells us to find Him.
The journey of self is a endless and vain pursuit in a bottomless well. because we are nothing without Christ.
That’s the idea, ‘the journey of self’, sells books, audio recordings, seminars, and retreats, it’s a money 💰 making racket…..that’s why they do it.

I was forced to go through this training with my last job. I hated it and found it very opposite from the teaching in Scripture!
I've never heard of such a thing, but it begs the question... Why is the Jesus Christ we read about in scripture not good enough for people?
This video got the origins of the Enneagram correct. The modern iteration of the enneagram was developed by Ouspensky and Gurdjieff in the early 1900’s. All the subsequent versions and ideas are a distortion of this ancient knowledge.
