    Any athletic endeavor that’s done efficiently requires that power comes from the core area of the body. It keeps us balanced and helps the bigger muscles be the engine for the smaller ones. And it just feels better and easier on the body. Great job

    Another great series of videos. Your check points are key. I have a tendency to get my hands too inside on the backswing. I notice this when I hit fades on the driving range. My swing hitting a fade seems to have much more room on the downswing than my stock draw. Using your checkpoints I see where I'm going marginally more inside on my stock shots. When that gets exaggerated or when fatigue sets in, that can lead to some unpleasant hosel interaction. Going back to work through the process.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому

      Super important message for a lot of other students to learn from…having the awareness of fatigue is not something a lot of people come to grips with or identify soon enough. Kudos to you for being aware of it and thanks for the kind words and support. Very much appreciate you.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  3 місяці тому +1

      There are some pretty big differences with pitching and chipping but most of that is handled at setup. Stay tuned, we have stuff coming out on this both on the website and here.

    Can you apply this to woods and driver? How can I make my lead leg fully extent before making the contact? thank you!

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  2 місяці тому

      Sure you can. Keep the hips working in the downswing is the best solution. Preset the desired impact position and then make small swings working to to get back to that place. As you get better with the movements, ramp up the length and speed of the swing. Hope that helps.

    Hi Chris, I’m a new subscriber and am enjoying your lessons. I have struggled with good contact /compression for too long and can see that these lessons are what I need to get better. Before I get too far into the process is there an order of watching and working on the lessons you would recommend? Thanks in advance!!

      Hi Kevin, thank you for subscribing to the channel and being a part of the MyGolfDNA family. This is a very tricky question to say the least because everyone is very different what pathway I might suggest for you, would be vastly different than anyone else standing behind you. If you’re brand new to the game…I would suggest that you start with setup and grip videos that I have on the channel as well and then work on the ball striking series. If you’ve played for a while, the best thing I can tell you to do, if your unsure of the best pathway for you, is to come over to the website and sign up for our baseline membership. You can go through the consult phase with me where you and I will look at your golf swings closely together and set reasonable goals and expectations and layout the plan of attack that’s specific to YOU. Under no circumstance is that a sales pitch. That is more just the reality of how any and all students should approach getting better at this game. Please let me know if you have any questions at all and I’ll gladly assist you.

      My pleasure Kevin. Best advice for you is to make sure you turn ANY and ALL new positions into movement and be disciplined in the process. Don't allow for any negative results to distract you in the process. Pick one or two things to focus on and work to become a master of those movements through repetitions. Make sure you introduce the golf ball back to the mix early on in the process OR you'll just have nice looking practice swing and a crazy golf ball swing. Most importantly, enjoy the process of change. It's not fun or glamorous, it's hard work. The payoff at the end is what its all about. Good luck and let me know if you need any further assistance at all. - Ct

    Chris, just to confirm, the arms dropping and the weight sitting down on the left foot occur simultaneously as a blended movement? Thanks!

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому +1

      That is correct. When you start picking up the pace, you’ll feel a little more separation in the 2 movements with the sit initiating the start of the downswing as the arms reach the top of the backswing.

    Chris, how long should it take to do 1000 reps?

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому

      Depends on your lifestyle really. If you have a lot of time in your day, then shoot for 150 reps a session. Give yourself a days break after 2 consecutive sessions if you need it. 7-12 days of concentrated reps should get a good foundations laid down to build on. Make sure the reps are consistent and back check them with a camera for accuracy.

  • @gillsahib
    @gillsahib 5 місяців тому

    So no downginge from the top of backswing, instead we are lowering arms passively while weight shifting, and keeping wrist structure?

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому +1

      The downcock will happen when you start changing the direction of the swing dynamically. It's subtle amounts on camera BUT with hackmotion on, it shows a substantial change in wrist dexterity.

    • @gillsahib
      @gillsahib 5 місяців тому

      @@MyGolfDNA thanks for the reply. So as we pressure shift and lower arms, we are also completing an ulnar deviation of the wrists, and a bowing of the left wrist correct? Wondering how you keep club head up and behind you with an ulnar deviation.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому +1

      My pleasure. No on the ulnar deviation question. You should be in radial at the top of the swing and you should be maintaining what you can. The wrist will move more towards flexion and the radial deviation can slightly decrease as result.

    one more question; what’s the best club to get comfortable with this method, 7 iron, 8 iron, PW, or…?

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому

      7 or 8 iron is a great place to start. You can do these drills with any club really. But starting with shorter clubs means less speed which can mean higher quality movements.
