My favorite part of this figure is how it shows how dinosaurs may have been more colored/patterned than mammals, while also maintaining such lifelike realism. (Considering the amount of energy most Cretaceous megafauna put into display appendages, elaphantesque lack of coloring makes little sense.) #BigHonk
That is gorgeous! I've began to collect them to make a mini museum in my living room. Already have the PNSO Stegosaurus and have Ankylosaurus on the way, will be doing an unboxing for that.
OMG yes please Ill enter!!!!!! When I was a child in the late 1970s I spied a box of a Corythosaurus Airfix Model in the window of a shop...I begged my parents to gift me her for Christmas - and when Christmas came around I sadly didn't get it- so EVERY time I see a Corythosaurus my little heart brings me back to that time I was so excited to see such a majestic unusual dinosaur...Shes a favorite and great informative post as always #BigHonk (Disclaimer : I am in New Zealand BUT have a US postal address)
Finally! This review is long overdue.. Wiki lists Corythosaurus at 9m and Lambeosaurus at 7m. Does that make Caroline and Audrey at comparable scale? #bighonk
Love seeing depictions of some of the Cretaceous herbivores that didn’t have the ‘spikes and armor’ of the more battle-marketable contemporaries. #BigHonk
I just got mine 2 days ago, but sadly because of its skinny legs, it's starting to lose balance, I can't find a way to get Corytho's legs to stand again....
Oven mitts? Recent discovery show that at least one hadrosaur had a single hoof like front foot, so it us reasonable to think others did as well. I can imagine them using the hood to dig for vegetation. The best depiction of dinosaurs are those that are the most accurate.
#bighonk Great review. I thought they had evidence that hadrosaurs had a giant visible Hoof-like toes and not the mittens? Idk, maybe that's just for the edmontosaurus.
It’s just that one edmontosaurus specimen right now. It’ll probably take some more studying and probably more specimens with the hoof for it becomes more universally accepted. Pretty sure j read somewhere some paleontologist think it was an abnormality with that particular specimen. I kind of dig the all thumbnail look lol
This model is absolutely insane!!!!!!!!! It's like a resin kit except it looks even more like a living creature!!!!!! Haha Hope to one day get more Hadrosaurs and iguanodontids from PNSO - imagine a ouranosaurus in this size range! Anyway more than satisfied with the 300 billion or so models they've released recently. Thanks for the great review!
Great review and figure! I’m glad hadrosaurs are getting more attention lately from model companies. I hope PNSO makes a new Maiasaura model because I love dinos that make a #BigHonk.
Awesome review, I agree with your criticisms about the head and the hands but again not a big deal. What actually is strangest to me is the weird texturing on the crest of it, it looks the same as the Lambeosaurus'. The colors are fine and the crest itself ultimately is too, but just something about the look of them are a little weird to me.
I believe the reason for the crest is no scales have been found on the crest from those Corythosaur mummies. I kind of dig the smooth horny covering look. It definitely adds a PNSO signature to there hadrosaur figures with that look lol
@@DinoScreamReviews I mean, you're probably right, they probably had some keratin covering over the bone or something. I dunno, maybe it's not the texture but the gloss coat over it that bugs me a little? I still love the Lambeosaurus I have.
Great in depth review! The one thing I don't like with PNSO is their lack of scale consistency. Imagine the Spino figure having the Kritosaurus size and Kritosaurus having the same size with Lambeosaurus, as it should be. They would make one great diorama!Even though I can't participate in the giveaway(I live in Greece) I really appreciate it🙂
For the most part most of the new figures have been roughly 1-30 to 1-35 scale. I learned their Spinosaurus is actually based off a juvenile specimen which would put that figure at 1-35 scale. But I agree the corythosaurus is way too big. It would’ve made a fine edmontosaurus at that size.
And the Winner is Altalanz Productions!!! Congrats on your new PNSO Corythosaurus!! I'll be contacting you by email shortly.
Man I'm so happy for him!
Thank you
Good for him
@@jurassictreereviews yeah.I feel happy for him! Those PNSO figures ain't cheap!!
