That was such a sick hunt Rick!! We’ll done and way to keep after em those rivers would have turned most of us away! I enjoyed the intro recap also great video guys
Rick, you are an animal. Every clip you are panting. I don’t know how you do it. Very impressive. The prologue was great. It helped us follow along as you went. Thank you. That is one great buck. I can hear the emotions in your voice when you finally connected. Thank you for taking us with you on this hunt.
A real hunter. Very impressive. Thank you for filming it. I learned a ton.
Rick, congrats on your buck! He is a stud! I also enjoyed listening to the story and the tips that you shared with us all. Again Congrats!
Awsome job Rick you and Hal are some of the best hunters around. Back on veterans day I got my buck 8pt 182.8lbs I nicknamed him the 20 min buck. Had never seen him b4 got into the area I wanted to hunt at 1:30pm and he was on the ground at 1:50pm hence why I nicknamed him the 20 min buck
Rick, I don’t always comment but always watch to learn. This by far my fav. If of yours. Great camera work capturing those wet socks. True attest of your hard work n dedication! Inspiration created in this vid. Congratulations. Well done. Professionally done.
Amazing job man. You earned it that one! Tired, thirsty, feet soaked. Great lesson for every hunter. "Never give up"👍👍👍
Beautiful Buck!!! 13 miles. You’re a tough SOB. You stayed with it. Very impressive. What a Slammah!!!!!!!!
Awesome video thank you so much for taking the time to share it with us all !!!!!
Great job Rick persistent and not giving up. What a buck and so many great pointers in that video
I just found you guys and these are my favorite videos right now. I'm enjoying watching the tracking and hard work paying off.
Congrats Rick, another big buck for the Big Buck Club. You had to work for this buck but I`m sure your happy for the end result. Another year I`ve missed hunting up in the North Woods of Maine, how I wish I could get back there to hunt a few more years. Good luck to you on your next adventure.
What a great old Warrior of a buck Congratulations on your hard work and persistence your one rugged individual
determination is what it take's to achieve this kind of reward ,Good Job Rick ,and some people don't realize ,you still have to get this trophy back to the Truck ,great Video /story thanks
Very nice. I’ve lived in Franklin county for 42 years now, recently found you and Hal’s videos. I’ve learned a ton of info in just 3 days. Great content for sure.
I'm very impressed man. One heck of a job and a fantastic buck for a reward!
What an absolute monster of a buck. Well deserved. Outstanding hunt. Congrats. I'm glad you're dragging him out and not me lol.
Love the choice of rifle. Probably the best brush gun ever made.
Awesome video and story! Felt like I was right there with you the whole time!!
What a great hunt! You certainly earned that old boy. What a battle! Incredible buck.
I am an old guy. When I lived in Montana, I hunted like this. I did however change it up a bit. I carried my rattling horns with me. At the point I felt I was close, and not having actually jumped the buck, I would tickle the horns, and a lot of the time, the buck would come back to me. It was extremely effective. I killed a 150” eight that pushed 300lbs that way !!! Huge buck with no fat on him at all. End of November. Grunt tube and rattle. I would also say, after all the work and miles to get to the moment of truth, you have to be certain your equipment, rifle etc. works as it should. 😂. Everyone should know this.
There always one upper in every crowd. I’m guessing, based on Rick’s trophy room, he has it figured out w/out rattle antlers. Again, just a guess.
I live in Clyde Park, Montana. I hunt the same way
With the amount of noise you are making it’s just amazing you got this close.
I love the 30-30. I like it when people still use it.
What a big woods giant! I like the way the video was done. Lots of good tracking tips.
Yeah, some good stuff I never heard before.
Congratulations Rick that's a really good buck. I was on a track that same day in the same area. My day didn't end like yours though lol. I never caught up to him. Again congratulations.
Congratulations on an awesome buck and thanks for sharing your story. Fun listening to other hunters. Bummer your rifle acted up, hope you can fix the magazine issue.
Man you certainly deserved that beauty, perseverance paid off, congratulations, great story! 🦌
Beautiful Buck never give up and your Grandsons get them on it gramps!!
I truly love your saying! NEVER give up.
I am headed out right now on Black Friday to chase what is a damn good buck for my area of Vermont. He’s 120” and has to be 180+ lbs. He’s the king of the woods where I am. Most of the snow is gone and there is rain expected but I can still hunt and my sound should be covered by the rain. I missed out on fresh snow because of work responsibilities. Gonna go give it my best. I put in two 8 mile days last weekend and have a much better Idea of where I should be to find/ pick him up. That ain’t nothing in comparison to Rick and the mileage he put on but it sure felt like something 16 miles in on Sunday night. Good luck to my fellow hunters out there!
You sure earned that dandy buck. !!!!👍👍👍
Amazing!!!!!!!!!! Such a great hunt and story!!!!
That’s a beautiful buck anywhere in the country! Congratulations on a fine ME buck
Awesome hunt Rick…congrats buddy 🤙 That monster could pass for a Saskatchewan bush buck!
Jesus has many names, but I never heard Him called by that... 😁
Awesome story. Great tenacity and great knowledge on hunting.
I throughly enjoyed this story. He is a great story teller.
Hey Rick, I like the way y’all hunt up there and how knowledgeable on reading deer sign. A bit different how we stack our deck here in Georgia to cross path’s with our deer. So keep tracking I’m right behind you learning something.
Thx
What part of Georgia are you from?

Hey Last Chance
I’m about middle Ga.

@@thomasgregory8760 I live in Abbeville SC. I'm about 20 minutes from the Georgia line
Rick is a beast in the woods 😂
This guy is a master tracker!
Awesome job Rick! 💪👍👍👍
That’s a monster wow congrats Rick
Love the details. There’s no snow where I’m but I hunt big woods and would love to know if bucks stay in the same general area. Being able to track a buck can give so much more details for us hunters to understand buck behavior. Would love a podcast explaining how bucks move. Do they just keep going or make big circles. So many questions.
Awesome story and a great buck!!!
Congratulations lifetime buck right there. Loved the video. Thanks
More than well-earned. Resets the bar where "fair chase" is concerned. Do you do anything to keep yourself in that kind of shape over the off-season, Ricks? Congratulations on that buck.
Thats Dandy Maine Buck Right Chair!!
What a buck, well earned.
Rick awesome one hell of a Buck mr. Congratulations 👍 thanks for sharing Good Stuff!!
The Vermonter BS
What a beautiful buck. Youll be eatin good for a while. Lots of good meat right there.
Great story.. great video.. absolutely loved it..thx
Rick he seemed not interested, he wasn't paying much attention to you ! I even thought he was falling asleep a few times.
Damn Rick, you are as rugged and tough as these deep woods monarchs you chase for miles and harvest.
That buck is a tank and it must've been one helluva drag out.
Just curious on what he tipped the scales out at???
Thanks for such a great narrative story at the beginnjng and then taking us along on your hunt. 👍👍
I know in some states it’s not legal but I live in NC in the Eastern part and we can use Buck shot and it is deadly with in 85 yards. We don’t get the snow at all so that part is out of the question. Just curious.
Incredible Rick! I can say this with no shame that I couldn’t have killed that same buck in the same scenario. But boy does it make me want to keep trying. Congrats on a more than well earned buck. Did you drag him out that same night too?
Great looking buck! I know someone who shot a 300 lb. dressed buck. Of course, that was still 100 lbs. smaller than Hinckley's buck (2d biggest in the Nation).
Great hunt Rick thanks for sharing !
Awesome buck Rick! That’s how it’s done
Ricks wearing 5 layers
Great hunt and giant buck
It's a good thing all you guys are better trackers and shots than you are camera men, or you would never kill a thing. Great buck though. Well done.
What an awesome video that is incredible great buck congratulations
Congratulations on an absolute Beauty Sir!
Great job man
Was that him you zoomed in on at the brook? You can see what looks like a good deer
Well earned! Beautiful deer! Congratulations!!
Nice buck
Awesome! Definitely earned that giant! Great story!
Hey Rick, just curious if you have any tips for making your backpack work with shouldering your rifle. I wouldn't mind being able to bring/ shed layers some days, but I've never been able to get used to shooting fast with the straps in the way.
What a beauty...congrats!
Hell of a buck dang wondered what he weighed? Wow
nice congrats .... I love scopeless auto loaders like yours and use one up here in the PNW . out of curiosity what caliber do you use ? I couldn't tell when you showed it in the track... an "06 " ?
Good job Rick
Impressive tracking and hunting video. How are you able to tell the size of the deer without seeing it and do buck always bed after feeding?
Great story teller!
congrats Rick, thats a beauty!
Awesome deer 🦌
Great story. Inspiration for sure. Is that a Fiddlehead Brian? Great choice.
Lol you know it. Thanks for watching!
Great story. I've had that exact thing...jam.. happen with my 7600 in 35 whelen. Not sure, but I think it's with 200 gr bullets. The 250gr, longer bullet, doesn't seem to do that. Nonetheless, this tory is so wonderfully told..that I AM rick.
Great job.
Awesome video and great hunt
nice hunt rick great buck congrats brian h from RI
Congratulations on a beauty that is so awesome 💯
Beautiful buck ! I noticed some of the scenes the barrel on your rifle was camo. Did you swap from the BAR to the pump mid day ?
So what ended being all wrong with 7600? Just the magazine? I have two and would mind a few more... I really like'em.
We got a slue foot bull moose in NewBrunswick Canada 2021
Way to go! Nice video and great Buck!
How far did you have to drag that old brute?
Heck of a buck!!
He's a beauty
Great hunt!
Well done 👍
How in the world do get him out of there lol? So munch enjoyment watching this video, thank you
Awesome!!!!
Better than Yellowstone! Thanks for sharing.. learned a lot.
Glen villanueve walks almost 60 miles that's crazy
Scoped rifle? with side mount, flip mount, see thru mount, peep on top of scope ring?
Iron sights
Congratulations, you sure earned him! What was the rifle snafu, frozen creek water?🤔
And how long did it take dragging him out?
Appears to have just been a malfunctioning magazine on Rick’s 7600
Not too long he ended up shot 150 yards from a road
Wow, what a hunt and what a buck. Congratulations. What caused his rifle to jam? Was it the magazine?
Yes Rick said he thinks it was the magazine, he had a few of them for his 7600s and he thinks this one may have not fit right
Awesome skills...how the hell you get him out of there?
When you track those deer that far from the truck how do you get them back? Do you pack them up or what?
Drag them back to a point where you can get a snow machine or a truck
Congratulations
Thanks for sharing
Gorgeous buck.. would have been nice to see it with gramps .30-30 as planned
Thanks for the videos!! They have peaked my interest alot for multiple reasons. Seems like my kind of hunting with a rifle. I'm not one to just sit in one spot. And it seems to be and awesome learning experience to track. I'm from the northern Michigan area. I guess a couple main questions I have is what do you prefer for a rifle caliber wise and your reasons behind it? And is tracking a syle of hunting that is really only useful in your area of the country? Seems like that's the area that most of the tracking content comes from is that section of the USA? Tha KS again for all the knowledge!
Thank you for your support! As far as caliber, our team uses all different calibers, but 30.06, .308, .270, and .30-30 are the most common. As far as where you can track, you can do it anywhere where there’s sufficient public land to roam. It’s not uncommon to follow a buck track 10 miles in a day. So as long as you’re not constantly chasing bucks onto private land, you should be good to go. Hal has tracked in Minnesota, and the UP. Good place to start!
Thank you for the information, I've been hunting and shooting 30-06 for years! Can't wait to give tracking a try and the place I had in mid was the UP of michigan lol lots of room to roam! Love it up there. Thanks again and can't wait for more content!!
great buck, good hunt
Great video- how long did it take to get him out
