Hi Craig here not Kathy , Yep I agree 66 n just retired trying to play for the first time this week , fortunately for her my wife still works whilst I’m trying to nail this .
Good morning, I’m contacting you from the south-east of England a little place called Rye. in East Sussex. I’ve been playing violin now for about five years and I am 75 years of age, I have watched many videos with Violin tutorials but yours is the easiest I have seen, it’s the calmness and delicate way you put your lesson across. Thank you very much indeed, I don’t think I’m going to play in the Hollywood bowl but I’m loving every second of it. Kind regards from England. X.
Hi Craig here not Kathy well thank you, simple but first time trying to play anything and it’s going well thanks so much I will surprise my musician friend who plays this on Banjo next time I see him .
This was such a helpful tutorial video! I have never played a fiddle in my life, but I was able to pick up the first part. If I keep watching this over and over and mastering each step, I should have the song down! You are an incredible teacher, Lauren!
Hello Lauren! That's another great fiddle tune i also played at nursing homes. You could be as good as Alison Krauss, Mark O'Connor or Sara Watkins. Great Big Hug!!!
Thanks as always. I had learned this one a while back, but I've never tried adding in the double stop shuffle intro nor the Shave and a Haircut ending. Looks like I'll work on this some more to add in things like that. Right now I'm working on Sweet Betsy from Pike, What Shall We Do with A drunken Sailor, Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier, Old Joe Clark, and Happy Birthday. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I have a lesson today and we'll work on Sweet Betsy and Johnny Has Gone, but for some reason I always like to add more to my work, thus the others that I mentioned. Heck I even went back and worked on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Boil Them Cabbage Down a little bit this week. I think I need to work on my attention span. Thanks again as always. I really appreciate the info I gain form The Tune Project.
Would it be possible to have the tabs written in here?? I’m trying so hard to write them out as you play and keep rewinding and 🤣🤣🤣I guess that’s how my brain is trying to do it 😅
I am a 67 year old beginner and I find your videos the easiest to learn from. Thanks.

Thanks for putting this one up. Really enjoyed learning it!
Thanks for the soft start with open string double stops. Those double stops up the neck are brutal when you're starting out!
Of course, Bob! Glad you found this helpful.

What a compliment! 🤗
This is a perfect tutorial for beginners and me just wanting to learn more new fiddle tunes. Thank you, and you are amazing!
Thanks so much, Lydia 🙂
I learned this one but I like your simplified version with the double stops a lot better. Thank you so much!!
Glad you like it!!

Sooo this isn’t the song by The Band… haha still love it, thanks for the new tune!

Could you include in your video the music? You have a version of Cripple Creek that I can't find
My bad… I was thinking “Up on Cripple Creek” by The Band. 😂
👍
Why does learning this song make me want to dance around the house playing it over and over? Is that what happens to you too?
Yeh but I'm just a Banjer pickkin er 👍✍️
