I remember having this family car when I was a child. The stock radio head unit was weird. There was no save function for radio stations. Instead, the controls were all analogue - just the tuning knob, and some 'preset' buttons along the radio frequency range scale, which physically moved the tuning needle indicator directly above the button you were pressing, and then you had to finely tune it with the knob afterwards. You are right about the rust. This car also had a rusting problem even in Australia, especially along the A-pillar.
My dad had a 1980 DL hatchback with the 5-speed manual. It was as reliable as sunrise, but for some reason, the A/C was junk. Four different shops fixed it, and it quickly broke within weeks all four times. This being Texas, that would be considered a form of torture. :3
That's a very good example there, very nice 😗,I had a blue one, it was the most reliable car I've owned, just oil change every 5000ks did cam belt oil pump Seal and water pump at same time,a set of cv shafts, and a set of hydraulic lifters, all that kept me on the road for 7 years, cool car, very hard to find in good condition now🤘 thank you for the walk around
I have the 1987 gtx automatic sedan and I can confirm that it is pretty slow haha. It does have a full digital dash though which is cool. Also carbs suck.
