This was super easy to follow!!! I’m so glad I going your video. I’ve been looking for mini projects to work on between my big projects and this is fast and adorable.
Thank you so much! I am all about "mini" projects. I don't seem to have the attention span for too many large projects, but I am always inspired when I hear someone making a blanket or sweater!!! Happy crocheting! 🧶
Oh awesome! I just recently made a soap saver where the drawstring is part of the soap saver (you could apply it to this pattern as well), so it doesn't have tails!!! That tutorial is here if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/UMUZyPPVBY8/v-deo.html
@@SNi-hn1wd there are two ways I use mine - to store a bar of soap or to save up the little pieces of soap bars when you are done with them. They are excellent if you are camping too. You can use them with the bar of soap as a loofa, but I find that they sud up really fast, but are slow to dry.
I'm trying to make this my first project. On my first attempt, the circle kept getting wider and wider, until what I had resembled a gravy boat more than a soap sleeve. I'm not sure where the extra stitches have been coming in.
I understand! I have had similar issues in the past with projects. Are you using a stitch marker (I usually use a scrap piece of yarn) to mark the first stitch in each row?
@@yellowmeerkat97 okay great! This way you should be able to see where the additional stitches are coming in. So it should be 10 stitches in row 1, and 20 stitches in each subsequent row! I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes 😀
@@CrochetWithJulie Goodness. Well it took me over an hour and the bag is not very even (it went out a little and then I skipped stitches on purpose to bring it back in) but it's a bag and soap can go in it!
I feel like you're missing a step somewhere. I cannot get it to match yours even using a stitch marker. Am I supposed to chain one after each row? My stitches keep decreasing.
This is a spiral pattern, meaning you won’t be starting/stopping your rows. The stitch marker just allows you to know where the 1st st of each row is, so you can switch between DC and SC rows. The written pattern is also in the description.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. Because of your comment, I created a simple mason jar cozy (tutorial here): ua-cam.com/video/xolQ6j1hnuI/v-deo.html Thank you again! 🧶 Happy crocheting!
It doesn't technically have to be cotton, but I have found that cotton will hold up significantly longer, and it also doesn't stretch as much while in use. I would only recommend using acrylic yarn if you are just planning on using the soap saver to store your bars of soap prior to using them. I hope this helps! 😁

Thank you! I am glad and that is very kind of you to make someone for your mom.
Definitely gonna try this out and may make some extra for multi use pouches!

@@CrochetWithJulie thanks very much !
This is my favorite soap saver pattern, you are a vert good teache!!! I'm wondering if you offer the written pattern anywhere?
Thank you! And yes, I try to include the pattern in the description for every pattern tutorial video 😊
This is an awesome tutorial! Do you chain 1 at the end of every row? Thank you!
Thank you! You won’t need to CH 1 each row, as this pattern is worked like a spiral rather than starting and stopping each row. I hope this helps!
What size hook ?
Can someone tell me what a soap saver is for and how to use it?

Thank you for your support! ☺️🧶
Oh never mind. I’m old and just found them!
Could you please post written instructions? I’m getting on a plane and need something to crochet for 16 hours!
How many yards do I need for one of these?
Not many, as this is a very small project. I would say around 50 yards, give or take.
Would this work with a 5mm yarn/crochet hook please? 😊
It definitely would, but you might need to adjust the starting chain to make it more suitable for your bar of soap :)

What type of yarn are you using (ie wool, Acrylic, cotton etc.)?
This is acrylic. I have used this same pattern with cotton and it works great, but is a little smaller (even with size 4 cotton).

Whay kind of yarn can be used??
I would recommend 4 Medium Cotton (like Lily Sugar N’ Creme)😀
Thank you 🤗
What is the approx size ?
I don’t have this item anymore, but it is longer than an average-sized soap bar by roughly 2 inches and only slightly wider.
You need to use 100% cotton when you make soap savers and loofahs because they dry easier.
I have a 100% cotton soap saver tutorial.
Doesn't it stay wet?
Yes. I recommend cotton yarn.
@@CrochetWithJulie I've crocheted a loofah before & it just doesn't dry well, even w/ a cotton yarn
@@lisasmith7457 Interesting. I made a loofa a while back that dries up pretty quickly.
