You're back to ATTACKING the track again. You can clearly tell how much more confidence you have in your machine. You were that way on your Honda too! I think it's going to be a great summer! You deserve it after all you've been through lately!
You are hauling the mail my friend. What I noticed is you seem more confident and pushing into each jump face and corner more than on the KTM. No hesitation, just holding errr wide yewwww🤘
Mannnn. What a difference confidence makes. MUCH more attack in the corners and you letting the bike float and do it's thing under you without manhandling everything makes for a smooth, fast ride. So much more trust in the machine. It's incredible to see. Keep pushing man. Looks like a whole new level.
Ill give an 3rd person review. Its easy to tell that your happy on this bike. I like that it's tourq'y and even at lower Rpm's because it easily lugs out of the deeper berms without having to down shift. I bought a Yamaha 426 as the 4 strokes came out, so I could get a jump on the new way as early as possible, but always felt faster on a 2 stroke, even though I was going faster on the 4. I think the fastest "looking" corner speed for you from past videos was on a 2 stroke, but I also know that the lap times are typically faster on the 4 strokes because they just hook up, especially on a sand track. Some of your turns in this vid are very impressive, and you're carrying a lot of speed into them, hitting the throttle very, very early even before you G out into them, that shows confidence and I noticed that bike doesn't look front heavy as some of the 4 strokes do to me. It looks very balanced, and you certainly seem to flow with and on that bike. I havent seen you do that with so much confidence in a little while, so it's great to see that again. Some of your corners in past vids are simply WFO, but that again was on a 2 stroke, and I don't think you're going slower on this, but certainly faster overall speed because your not steering with the back tire and having to slow way down. Have you compared lap times in a while using a 250 2 stroke vs a 450 4 stroke? Its funny to me because I think the 2 strokes always look faster, but they rarely are faster. This vid is a good demo for that because your avg speed is pretty damn fast and I dont think you'd be carrying so much speed on a 2 stroke. This is all just my humble opinion. Its been 20 years since I raced so I am old school, but wanted to give you some input. Appreciate the vid, I love watching your vids with the camera view on the bike. I even find myself leaning over sometimes. lol God Speed brother.
I gotta share one more detail about the past. When I got that Yamaha 426 and raced my buddies, they all wanted me to be slower on it because at that time, nobody wanted to switch to a 4 stroke. I remember one day right after I got it practicing at Bithlo in Orlando, Id line up with my buds and always take the inside line while they took the outside line to carry more speed against me. I'd go inside, leave in 2nd, and hear my bud railing outside in 3rd, pinned, and I'd simply walk away from them over and over, lap after lap, and thats a sand track, or was at the time. That day after being out there for 40 minutes, I came in and one of my buds looked at me and looked deflated. I said What's a matter with you? He said that damn bike! I asked what he meant and he told me it was completely "demoralizing" to be pulled away from while tapped out in 3rd, hearing my bike barely even into the RPM's, just leaving him. That day, I knew I made the right choice, but my heart will always favor a 2 stoke to have fun with. The 426 had a lot of torque and even at Budd's creek in a Pro-Am rain race I got the holeshot on SAND TIRES against all hard packed tires up the hill in the mud. I crashed at some point and finished midpack but raced the night SX track race and won my class, which was "B" at that time, and Pastrana was in the "A" class just before he turned pro. I won that race and Pastrana passed my on the last lap with about a 20mph difference through the whoops. I quaded into the whoops that lap, but he went outside and wheelied the first one and just passed me like I was standing still on the hard packed track. I was happy to win my class on a blue grove track all while on sand tires. I was the only guy on the gate with those that night, and I could see people notice them and laugh about it. Memorys. :)
Phuck yes! Im totally excited for you Jeff. I was so disapointed when I heard you were looking to change bikes. But with this new found light at the end of the tunnel, you look most confident, consistent, and very good. Stay with this bike or I promise you will regret it. Stay strong confident and go get you a podium at this years nationals.
Well done from France. You are a great rider. These Austrian engines 2019/2022-3 are amazing. I am going to get an unsold 2023 gasgas too for this year.
Absolutely ripping that track up bro!!! Keep kicking a#$! Been following your progression a while now. And you sure do look comfortable on that gas gas!
Only 6 mins in and I can see that you’re so comfortable on this bike. Your speed, flow and lines increased every lap. Stay healthy and keep working. Maybe a bike change soon👍🧐😎
best you've looked for a while dude, old chassis is the ticket, ill say it again. to date best chassis ktm has ever built. Outdoors going to get sporty. Lookin forwards to it.

Looking good Jeff, you seem very comfy on this bike, can I ask how you would compare it to the 24' kx 450? I can get a new 23.5 gasgas factory edition for the same price as a 24' kx 450. I love the way the FE looks, but I really don't care about bling, I have always loved the kawis and briefly rode a 24' . The 23.5 gasgas has the frame that a lot of people don't like , if you were choosing between a 23.5 fe or 24' kx what would you go with? I watched the vid of you railing the KX and I thought you looked really good on that bike.
I think the 24 KX450 could be just as good as the previous-gen Austrian bike (what I’m riding in this video) with some small tuning. I’d take the kx450 over the 23.5 GasGas for sure, but I think a lot of that boils down my my riding style. I prefer a rear-steer bike which the old KTM and current Kawi were great for. The new Austrian frame is much taller in the rear and is more of a front-steer bike like the Honda
@2216sammy I rode one, it was just too connected and fast for me, I am 54 and took close to 5 years off, love the yz's but right now they are too much for me, we even tried toning it way down and was still to hooked up. Once I get back into the groove I will ride the yz again, great bike.
Can you show a video of you doing a 10-15 min moto no seat and then a 10-15 min moto with it back on? Would be fun to see if lap times/comfort improves at all
so just out of curiosity this is previous gen gasgas so old frame, i wonder if the problems you had with the new ktm is the new frame heard some riders werent liking it when they were first coming around.

Sucks how they won't let him ride the old frame either. Stupid sales part of the manufacturers. Why wouldn't you want your guy on the bike that he places best with?? Regardless of its chassis. Want him on the newest one just because it's new.
