Orwell is not a Show Truck, he's a "show up and get it done" truck.
Yes, but Orwell still looks great, straight stacks make him look tough lol.
Bravo well said I agree with you 👍
Yea and there’s plenty of show trucks that work everyday too going to work isn’t an excuse to not do basic paint maintenance or interior cleaning every so often
Love the truck, great driver.
Great way to spend my Sunday evening, watching FSC Trucking!
Steve that APU of yours is a great addition to Orwell, keeps you and the yellow cat warm , saves on battery trying to crank her from freezing into life.
Its a good job having new drive tyres fitted Steve & also the front end being replaced weather your having lately. Good job chris is there helping you along, he is a great asset towards your company Steve.
Beautiful poor Orwell gonna need a bath the joys of winter driving
Remember a year ago all those frozen brake lines you were having? Not this year. All the work you and Chris have done is keeping your wheels turning, earning the dollars.
Another great video. Looking forward to seeing Elaine running again and the Ford coming back together in future videos.
Just like an old timer show up and get er done love that truck to bad there not many out there this days
This must have been filmed during that nasty cold spell 2 weeks ago. That was brutal.
Thats hard work driving in those weather conditions, great job and video Steve.
Great video Steve really enjoy all the different camera angles and your commentary and the music. Four drops and time to pick up the Fords frame rails. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Steve.
Orwell rocks...he reminds me of my step dad taking me (he wasn't supposed to lol) on a trip in the company GMC cabover 82 model, Cummins engine. That dang cabover could pull that 40 tons of flav o rich ice cream with ease lol.. it was tough..
Good to be warm in winter.
Steve one would never get tired of looking at that tractor unit, I don't know why , maybe growing up in the 70s/80s with convoy, bj & the bear, movin on , smokie and the bandit, he looksgreat and majestic never let him go.
Looks like an old FLD 120 behind you at 33:23. Nice to see Orwell spent the night parked with a pre-emissions friend.
Good timing with the new rubber
I really enjoyed the trip. I'm excited to see the Ford project start.
Great video Steve,a little snowy along the lakes.Take care.🤩👍👍
That's some great backing that trailer, Steve. You've done that a time or two thousand.
Very nice video, Steve. Brings me back to what I used to do for over 5 yrs.
I drive a roll off truck, new VHD volvo. Recently while dumping at the landfill, some lumber jumped up and ripped off coolant lines that run 2 the bottom of the DPF box. A dozer then had to push me bk to the main gate after dumping all the antifreeze on the ground while unloading. Brilliant design
Thanks for the ride enjoyed it Nate from New Zealand
Schenectady NY American Locomotive Company Alco built the UP Big Boys among other Locomotives
Dude. That strap winder thing is pretty sweet.
I worked in the crazy cold last week. Had to run a jackhammer in the frozen tundra. Stay warm!
Hauppauge, LI. Worked there about 20 years ago up on 400 Oser Ave. just off the Northern Pkwy. I used to drive from Queens out to there for work. Brings back mems. Have a safe trip!
Thumbs up 👍 from my recliner. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Спасибо за видос , классный аппарат. Тебе уважение, сам был когда-то дальнобойщик.
Bend new Fram wow awesome
Brrrrrr cold
Back in 2003 I was given by the company I was with at the time a brand new 2003 International 9900 Eagle with a Detroit. That had Optimized Idle. Tried it one time worse night of sleep I ever had in a truck.
Cabovers are so cool! Had a 86 shaker with a 3406 B great truck!
T Hasl from Norway 🇧🇻 again. Thank you for nice and entertaining video Steve. 👍
Best trucking channel ever.
Wooooo burn
On Orwell worst looking is still better looking than the newer plastic newer trucks
Orwell is a beast wll these new engines cant hold a match to a mechanical 3406 cat
Hey Steve not everyone can drive the big ones so some of us build ones that we can drive with the look and feel of the real ones. And if it's not your cup of tea well that's ok too because that's what makes us unique.
You were about 55 miles from where I live in Mohawk, New York.
Can't wait to see that stretched out Ford! That dash is so cool in that thing.
Orwell doesn't need a tuxedo he is dressed like "workin man".
Good work Steve, what a massive shame those both aeroplane crash one in Washington a chooper & comercial flight collision & one in philadophia and ambulance plain crash , my heart goes out to families loss of there love ones😢😢😢😢
The louvers are called shutters. They are controlled by a shutter-stat - air operated. When the AC is in operation there were thermatic switches on the grilldenser (KW COE) back in the day. They worked really nice. They went away around 1976- 1977 on Kenworth.
Route 135 heads south from syosset. When it was built there was a bit of concrete made just past jericho tpke. It was supposed to go to conneticut but it would have cut through the town of Oyster bay and others, and they did not want it. Route 135 is LI biggest n/s Speed trap! Be safe.
I drove a truck in the 1960's that had the louvers in front of the radiator. Thermostatically controlled, air operated. I had one that started to run too warm. I checked everything that I could. Full of coolant, etc. I found a mechanic that figured it out in a minute or two. Crud built up in the joints of the little control arms on the shutters. He sprayed cleaner and spray lube in the joints. Problem solved and I knew what to do from then on. Usually O.K. in summer, but would get salt and other crud in the winter
Thanks for sharing safe travels
Hey Steve I was freezing my ass off just watching this video. BTW the little Tommy boy mentioned you and another one of his reaction videos including Tim Justin and Trucking together. I told him that is he had the ball he should show up at MATS this years.
I have my pass already it's just a matter of $$$ and how I feel.
Stay safe out there.
I love Orwell love the sound of that Cat Engine and the old school truck
Orwell is a beast from the Midwest, Orwell, Elaine, The 352 Pete, the CL9000,r my kind of trucks I cant to see them done along with the chapel/merch wagon, I know its going to take time & money but I know their going to look bad ass
When you lowered the sun visor it might have been enough to signal the light sensor in the GoPro to dim
Awesome job. Happy trails 👍🇺🇸
Always like the cab overs. KEEP GOING!
Sunbelt is a massive operation with so much equipment!
MAN, I LOVE THESE FSC TRUCKING VIDEOS
Orwell will be running long after all this new junk will .the new trucks have a lot of fufu . Orwell is a work truck with no room for fufu just raw power .
yes, what they are doing now is complete rubbish! good old hard workers will outlive them all) sorry for my English
@@ЕвгенийПилипчак-й4н your english is just fine .
I usually turn the truck on with the diesel heater(same function as APU)on and let it run untill the engine is at operating temp and the shut it off
Hey steve good to see you, sure dont envy the weather you have to work in!hope it warms up soon,hi from nm. Thanks for the vid buddy good job!
Good Evening Steve, Chris, & Jen
Bei Euch ist ja richtig Winter . Und das viele Salz auf den Straßen 😢 . Der arme Truck 😮 .
I like the hyper space jump from Long Island to New Jersey
The video of sitting on the BQE in traffic was boring the first time...
The only upside to this trip is at least you didn't have break down the trailer for your drop offs. You do get it done no matter what.
Hopefully the USA welcomes Scania so we have an option for a cabover. Scania's are some really high tech trucks. V8!
Love the old style truck
Go get those rails so you can start building the other truck. I liked your explanation of the grille cover in regards to different temperatures. Keep on truckin' 👍
That's them Espar heater . It's electric so when the battery goes low truck starts . On its own charge battery then shuts off
The start and stop of the new trucks you get use to it
Awesome work as always!
Hey stave how are you and chirs doing today I like watching your UA-cam videos and they are very educated and I like the content in the videos
This is Tim gentry’s channel when are you going to get sober ?
You didn’t start trucking till 97, gee you mist all the fun from the 70s and 80s 😢
Steve the lovers are air operated with an electric thermostat control in the water jacket.
You sure can tell you know what you're doing the way you back that trailer up you and Orwell go together pretty good
If I knew you were coming to L.I., I would have come out and said a fast hello. A fan from Nesconset, L.I., N.Y.
Your about 214 miles from me. Safe travels buddy 💪
The first truck I drove was a 64 IH & it had the shutters in front of the radiator that were thermostatically controlled. Opened & closed by air pressure.
Dang Steve if I knew you were on Long Island I would have reached out and taken you to lunch I’m about 20 minutes away from Bohemia and worked building a lot of those factories around there!! On veterans hwy I built 4 flower pots on four corners by the airport!!! It would have been cool to be able to meet you in person!!!
Steve in Australia is 105f or 41c, and it's going to be that hot for at least 10 more days.!
The sun shine makes it look warm....that is deceiving tho.
Chris I hope that you keep a lighter with you during the wintertime for Orwell's key to get into the cab
The trucks I was around didn't start & stop at night because they barely shut off at all once you left the house, especially if you wanted heat or air. The big thing just vibrated you to sleep. Now being 2 feet in front of a screaming reefer unit...🤔
cold🥶
And it’s snowing again tonight in upstate NY started at 6:30 pm still coming down steady
You're in CT quite a bit... I'll need to keep my eye out for you
Damn I missed Orwell being in wall nj guess I’ll have to find ya up in your woods one day.
Good one
The sun shining in the morning
Caused it to go dark
If it’s a cascadia that’s the what they call the park smart feature it’s when the batteries get to low on voltage it will fire up and run for a while then shut off when it’s ready
It also maintains a certain temperature so you don’t need to run engine all the time- some companies and people use them as it’s “supposed to keep from running the engine
continuously “ - but it’s very annoying !
@ 🤔 I didn’t think about the temperature part but you are right about that one as well
A lot of guys in new england run the switch n go or hook lift bodies on the heavy one tons now.
Looks cold, damn groundhog
start stop in the white freightshaker is optimized idle from freightliner i see and hear that around my truck i run a apu on my truck
It's crazy how small Orwell looks next to that freightliner in the beginning of the video
Steve, the New York Thruway service area you started this video at is Guilderland since you said it is in Schenectady County. BTW, how were you charged for all of the tolls from traveling the road itself?
Close enough
Probably would’ve been easier running I86 TO I88 instead of running the thruway
Was it open when this was filmed?
Hay Steve
Just want to say hello from Clarksdale ms
Come on Steve you love them BOMB CYCLONES lol -Cheers!
Love your videos
When I was with TMC, they had company trucks that had safe idle? You set it off and on. Saves fuel. Didn’t have a GreenAPU, had a spy. But it wasn’t no where near as cool as that one! Stay Safe FSC!🇺🇸🏁🏴☠️ 3/88
That that unit, did you put it in a peak as worthwhile?Keeping the batteries and everything together
😊Happy Days Steve 😊COMMENT Etc.etc 😊
