      Hey bit of a question for you, love this board's looks and such, but there's so few reviews on it. It took me forever to dig around and find this one sadly, because it's the BEST one I've gotten. (as well as the unbox video) have you had any problems on the mobo since the build? I made the mistake of buying a lower end z370 mobo from gigabyte and am now displeased with it, after about 3 days, i really want this board now, but there's some... interesting negative reviews for it occasionally. also, online review said 3 fan headers, you said 4 + 1 dedicated to a cpu watercooler, is that indeed correct? Thank you sir

    • @GeneralMetrac
      @GeneralMetrac 6 років тому +1

      * also, is it 1 or 2 rgb headers? that was the other... not so clear info.

      Hello my friend, thank you for stopping by and not only checking it out but also commenting, I truly appreciate it. So I do not have the board, it was for my boss, but I do have to support it FOREVER haha. So there are 2 different versions of the board, one that supports SLI and Crossfire and one that Supports only crossfire, this particular one supports only Crossfire, i will link up both below my explanation of the board. This board comes with 1 x CPU Fan connector, 3 Chassis fan headers (though 2 of them are listed as pump headers, there is one 1 inch from the CPU fan header, one all the way on the right of the board near the 24Pin ATX connection, one the on bottom right of the board and one to the bottom left of the CPU socket), so it looks like I may have counted one twice, thank you for catching that. I have had zero issues with the board, trust me,.... my boss would have called me over . Make sure you have the latest BIOS flashed before you install the OS.
      Another thing to note, I did not overclock this board, so I don't know how well it will work for overclocking, not sure if that was one of the complaints.
      Asus TUF Z370 Plus Gaming Motherboard: geni.us/BLZTx
      ASUS TUF Z370-PRO Gaming: geni.us/Ya37 (if it was me buying the board it would be this one, the Pro Gaming, it's only a few dollars more and has more features)
      I hope I have helped you my friend.

      I really appreciate the reply man. thank you. I love a good content creator who actually gives a full response to a question, take my sub! and I know the pro gaming has better features, but funny enough, I want it a bit for the rgb on the side as stupid as it sounds XD. I will be overclocking, but probably not taking it to the MAX it can go. (funfact about the pro gaming board btw, I guess when you shut the system off at night, the TUF logo on the upper right... doesn't turn off.. Haha!)

      @ThisBytesForYou  5 років тому +1

      yeah that is pretty cool, Dell does that as well, so I am sure more boards can do this. I used to write the OEM activation for companies I used to work for, I used to also add the logo's to the POST screen, I was starting to work with Windows 8 before I left the OEM Boutique name space so I never got a chance to write the BIOS for 10, but it was completely different than writting a BIOS for systems with Windows 7 and below. Windows 10 has the same TYPE of OEM activation, but a little less invasive. The BIOS' now allow you to interact with the windows splash screen, so now you get that effect, which is pretty cool. My EVGA Z390 Dark motherboard does it too.

      What you are running into it sound like at least is SATA chipset support. The chipset has a SATA Chipset (usually RAID or SAS) that is not in the supported and integrated driver on the drive. Go to the motherboard manufacturers site and download the SATA drivers and place them on a thumb driver and during installation, browse to th folder, usually in the x86 or x64 (depending on the version of windows you are installing) and you will find supported chipsets and that should help you.
      The other issue could be you could have M.2 enabled in your BIOS which many times disables certain SATA Ports, you would need to refer to your motherboard manual to see what those ports are and you can move your SATA cable and try installing again.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  4 роки тому +2

      yes, I don't know exactly where it is in the BIOS, but you have Quick Boot Disabled, if you disable that it will bypass POST, there is good and bad with that. That skips all of the POST (Power On Self Test) which is important because it does a quick diagnostic of your machine, just testing each component really quickly and sometimes will give you a message that something is failing or has failed. Quickboot disables that but it also disables some USB3 features upon booting, like if your keyboard/mouse is connected to a USB3 header, you will not be able to enter the BIOS, it disables a few other things, but check it out.

If you single click on your speaker in the notification area, you will see what the sound is currently on, then a carrot to the right so you can open up your audio section, if you click there you will find other options for where your sound can emit from. Click there and see if any of those options look familiar, if they do, click that and you should have your sound back. The red X though, usually means it is muted, perhaps, but let me know if my first piece of advice helped, and if it did not, I can help you more, but please also let me know what other devices pop up when you clicked on that arrow.

Once you are back in windows, , go in device manager, click on "View" then click "Show Hidden Devices". Once they are sown, go under "Display adapters" right click the grayed out devices and click "Uninstall Device" and if given the option, click to delete driver, then click "Uninstall". Once done under video, then go under "Sound Video and Game Controllers" and do the same there. • @ThisBytesForYou

      Hello my friend, to start, make sure you are on the very latest BIOS. After you have updated your BIOS, go back into the BIOS, switch over to advanced mode and then go into "Boot Configuration" then go to the "Boot Logo Display" section and set the logo to "Disabled", this way you can get rid of the ASUS Boot logo. Asus used to provide a utility to change the boot logo but they have since removed it, aside from using AMIBCP or Mod2BIOS (Which I do not recommend using, unless you KNOW how to use it as it could kill your system) there is no other way to change this logo besides disabling it. Let me know if this helps.

I downloaded a new Windows 10 install on a USB drive. After seeing this video, you suggested that the BIOS should be updated if needed. So I was able to update through EZ function in BIOS. Since that has happened, now when I boot up, it says “inaccessible boot drive”. I think the update mixed up my defaults or drives...how can I reset it back to the original setup drives? I didn’t take a screenshot of it before it happened. There are several areas in the BIOS screen that I can choose the drive options...are there some that have to list the same ones or in the same order? I hope for any feedback you would have or any other ideas for the error message. Thanks.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  5 років тому +2

      A9 means start of setup. I recommend you go into your BIOS, then go to the Exit Menu and click on "Load Optimal Defaults", then press F10 to save and exit. See if that boots. NowI don't know what your system has, M.2 drive with OS, SSD/HDD with OS, AHCI/RAID, so that you might have to set, but loading optimal defaults will help you get started.
      Let me know if there is anything else I could help you with.

    hi, i have ai suite 3. some people are saying this program is bad, is it good to have do you know? i have the exact same gaming motherboard (GAMING II) and the mhz for the cpu is always at 4.9mhz which is automatically overclocked by asus ai suite 3, i have reset settings to default in the bios mode however this still occurs even though i manually turn it down from ai suite 3

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  5 років тому +2

      Please ask those people why it is bad, many will say just because, but there is no reason it is bad, and is almost necessary. The AI Suite installs a driver that helps in Sleep mode and just looks awkward in the device manager (though most people never look there). It is not automatically overclocked, the Core i7 9700 which its max turbo frequency is 4.9Ghz. You have your windows power profile to be at Performance and you have the Minimal power state at 100%, which means that at anytime, the lowest the processor can perform is at 100% and the highest it can perform is at 100%. To chance this, press the start button and type power. then click on the "Power & Sleep Settings" icon, then click under "Related Settings", click "Additional power Settings". Where it says "High Performance" or which ever is selected, click "Change Plan Settings" then click "Change Advanced Power Settings", then scroll down and expand "Processor power Management", and "Minimum processor state". There change the "Plugged in" from 100% to 5%, then click "Apply", "OK", "Save Change" and test again. Let me know if this works for you.

      ok, so when you are booting, in your bios, do you have set the primary boot device as the thumb drive, are you selecting to boot to the thumb drive? Also, did you just copy the iso file to the thumb drive or did you use the windows tool correctly, here are some instruction to redo your key.
      Connect a USB thumb drive, at least 8GB in capacity, then use the steps below:
      Go to the Windows 10 download page.
      www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
      Under the "Create Windows 10 installation media" section, click the Download tool now button to save the file on your device.
      Double-click the MediaCreationTool exe file to launch the tool.
      Click the Accept button to agree to the Microsoft terms.
      Select the Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC option.
      Click the Next button.
      Clear the Use the recommended options for this PC option
      Select the correct language, architecture, and edition of Windows 10.
      Click the "Architecture" drop-down menu and select the Both option, to install the 64bit and 32bit version.
      Click the Next button.
      Select the USB thumb drive option.
      Click the Next button
      Select the removable drive from the list. (If you don't see the drive, click the Refresh drive list option.)
      Click the Next button.
      Click the Finish button.
      Once you complete the steps, the tool will download the required files and create a bootable USB thumb drive with the Windows 10 installation files.

      Wow that was fast. Thanks a lot man, I will sub also.
      Its my first time building a PC, told the guys I buy from not to do it for me this time as I felt I had to learn it eventually.
      (story)
      Something went wrong on my Old PC with an Asrockz77 i5 3570k system that I've had for a LONG time. TLDR is it burst into smoke in the DIM slot area. I had my GPU unplugged so its fine, was moving RAM sticks around because the PC was not booting after an ingame freeze, MB flashing a 'Memory not installed' error code. Well after a swap I guess I screwed up as it burst into smoke in the DIM slot area.
      (story ends)
      SSD was not unplugged however... Had the presence of mind to take out GPU but not it... I'm just hoping and praying it will be fine as only the DIM slot area and the sticks themselves were smelling of smoke and nothing else.
      The 'abruptness' of this is also why I wanted the old OS method to get some of my data out first at least, THEN reinstall windows.
      I am only taking SSD and GPU (Samsung 850EVO 1TB and Powercolor RX480 8GB) into the new Case.
      The PC I built has in addition to those 2 (hopefully the damn SSD survived...)
      Asus ROG Z390-E Gaming
      i7 9700K
      Corsair Vengeance RAM 3200 x2 8GB
      Corsair 780t Case
      Corsair HX750i PSU (hope its enough... specially if I want new GPU in the future)
      Noctua DH15S CPU Cooler
      I think I'm not missing anything. Sorry for the 'rant' but I want to provide as much info as I can. Simply worried I'll screw up during assembly and incinerate something again but lets hope not. Thanks again man!

    Hey! just discovered your videos and already a fan. I do have a question though. I had a friend build my computer for me awhile ago. Just moved back to my hometown and i've noticed when i unplug the computer fully( IE moving, changing different areas, taking to friends to play etc) it always puts me into the bios and says sata mode must be changed to raid mode to avoid unknown issues. I also took a quick picture of what it says if you'd like to see it. Up til now i just save and exit and computer boots to windows and runs like normal. I somewhat know my way around a computer but not much and i'm afraid to mess with anything in the bios and/or making things worse. Any ideas for this not to come up every time i unplug or when the power goes out? Thank you!!

    Back in my day you pulled the chip off the board and put it in an eprom writer 🤣

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 роки тому +2

      yup mine too, I was a product development engineer for alienware, before Dell bought them then also I worked for dell a while after they bought them then finally velocity micro. Been in the biz for 27 years. I never had an eprom writer though, we would just have a load of eproms laying around for each board we were developing and when I would mess up one bios, I would pop a new one in, load it, then pop the messed one up in and flash it with a known good bios, ahhh the old days.

      A 2060 is a decent card, you can game very well on it, not as high of course as a 1080 or a 2080, but it is a decent budget card.

    I have a board like this a Tuf B450M and the PC works fine but no matter what I do I can't get it to go to the bios for overclocking and updating. The screen with the Wings and press F2 never comes up and when I push F2/Del the PC goes black screen and freezes. I rest it boots to win 10 and works.
    I have a Ryzen 7 2700X and an EVGA GeForce GTX 2080TI and 4 x 4GB (16GB) Viper ddr4 ram any ideas what happened?

      right when you restart the BIOS, when your screen goes blank, start tapping on the Del button, keep tapping one every second or every other second and you should get in. You might have quick start enabled, which gets rid of the post screen. give it a try and let me know.

      yes it most likely does have to do with your bios, in your bios under "boot", make sure the first boot device is set to your M.2 SSD, which may be called WIndows Boot Manager now. Once you set that, hit F10 to save and exit and you should be good.

    Hello,
    I just had a quick question regarding how to boot onto the flash drive. You said to either mash the f12 key or escape key to bring up a boot menu. Is this how you boot to the flash drive?

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 роки тому +1

      some boards support that, not all. The best way to do it is to set it as a boot option in your BIOS.

      @@DigiDriftZone ok, a few things you are going to want to do, first, update your BIOS to the latest version, I don't know exactly what board you have, so I can't send you the link (Asus is the manufacturer, z370 is the chipset, but I dont know the rest), after you update the BIOS to the latest version, go here, to the drivers section and download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver software Version 17.2.6.1027
      , extract it, then copy the \Driver\64bit folder to your windows 10 thumb drive. The start the install process, chose custom, then when it askes you where do you want to install it to, make sure you delete all the partitions, then click load drive, load the Drivers\64Bit folder, then select All of the drivers it lists, then start the install, that should take care of you, please let me know if this has helped.
