Plan to comeback to this video, but for those who have a general understanding of daw.
Vst - submix
Submix out - talkbox
Midi controller to vst
Record using mic.
Again I'll cover this. So many comments to go through. Reply here for any extra question.
Super Helpful, appreciate the existence of this video
Do you need a microphone? If so, where does the microphone go into the audio interface in order to receive a signal on an audio track channel in order to record the Talkbox into studio one DAW?
Thanks man!
In Studio One you can set the Talkbox up as a Plugin via the Pipeline XT program within Studio One. Just as you would add a hardware compressor, reverb, eq, etc. So on your talkbox, you come out of the output into channel X on your interface. Then come out of the interface (output) through channel X back into the talkbox. Route accordingly through Pipeline XT. Now ... open your softsynth VST/Plugin ... i.e., Mai Tai .... add Pipeline XT plugin from your FX .. done! Now, if you want to record it, you have to route the instrument track (with your softsynth), to an audio track. To do so you add an audio track. On the dropdown box of the input, instead of choosing another audio input you choose an instrument. Within the instrument dropdown, you will see your softsynth. Monitor from the softsynth so you can hear it and record enable the audio track ... done!
Do you now how this works for fl tho? Or is there a video of what u saying?
basically.
talkbox is a speaker and amp in a box.
you need to set up daw so that the the sound(coming from talkbox tube going into mouth) isnt then going into the mic only to be played back through the daw and going back thru talkbox. that type of loop will give you feed back.
very nice job keep it up you are the best
So informative
Where is the talkbox connected to, is it connected to the audio interface??
It's connected to an out on the talkbox. Setup a matrix that only send the synth signal to the out where the talkbox is connected.
I bought an harley benton talkbox and i use ableton. I use a presonus audiobox to. My audiobox is connected on my computer, and my akai mpk is connected to my pc. Should i connect my talkbox on my mpk or on my audiobox with the jack ?
That audio box. Unless you can use your mpc to be a bus send. I'd stick with the audio box and make send through that.
but how to record it to the mix if the whole mix sound comes out of the tube?
thats what im trying to figure out lol
Sorry for the late reply. I'll do a revisit of this video. But what your doing is creating a separate virtual sub channel. Basic like matrix. You have your stereo sub going out. Ala mix. Then you have you sub monitor aka talkbox. I'll go over this again in an upcoming video. Sorry for the inconvenience!
I was wondering the same thing
How do we then record onto the track to add the Talkbox to a real recording inside of STUDIO ONE? I understand the subbing out part but that's just for me to play and hear the talk box, I want to record it.
Microphone
I’m using Studio One 3... I think I have it but not totally sure. So I first need to select the keyboard vst, then Route it’s output to a sub out? And that’s it? Where do I plug the talk box in the midi keyboard itself?
Martin, is the sound coming out through the speakers then?
FL Bro! How do I setup my talk box using FL studio
Hello How use talkbox mxr with ableton please?
You need an audio interface that has multiple outputs for this to work I guess...alot of people don't have that so recording the talkbox sound back into DAW wont work properly. Why are you not saying this? You need to be able to send audio out from vst synth to an output that isn't headphones/monitor out.
This is an advanced video, if you don't have a audio box that doesn't have a set of sub audio, which most do now, then yes it isn't for you. Most people who request this video has more than one set. Also. This does apply to virtually any professional DAW. I don't know of any other daw that doesn't allow you to create virtual sub mixes. Let me know your build. I'll be look out for another way of getting what you need. Sorry for the inconvenience. Appreciate the comment.
Which vst do you use to get that sound similar to the dx100?
And what is your patch or parameters?
The options really can be any synth with sawtooth. I used to use a korg Triton when I started. Massive from contact is awesome, but the best for this style would possibly be omnisphere
Could I connect a midi keyboard to a rocktron banshee? I use logic and I have a behringer audio interface. Would I connect the midi keyboard to the computer and the computer to the audio interface and the talkbox into the interface?
Midi controller hold data only. No audio signal. You'll need to connect direct to an out on you audio interface! Hope that helps! - Martin
I was always told this is impossible this is crazy 🤯
Hey I’m having trouble figuring out how to get the right sound out of my synth and was wondering if you could help
What is the right sound? When I started I wanted to have the right sound. Which turned out to be a copy of what others did. It also sound different because of the amp, and they my mouth is shaped. Everyone will experience a different sound!
Can you cover a video on how to run a talk box through FL Studio?
can you show or write down your Mai Tai patch detail settings ur using in this video. Your video hides your Maitai vst setting we really need to see your maitai settings
It's a sawtooth wave, nothing more. It's a default setting.
how to create a submix in Fl studio guys ?
I don't have FL. But as long as you can do a discrete bus. Yes it's doable.
My brotha thank you for all your efforts helping the community i'm just gonna buy a s synth would be easier 🤣@@MartinRossChronicles
How do I set it up in Logic Pro X ?
You need to find a sub route set up within logic. Then on your audio interface, use the output to the input of the talkbox. You need to look on sub routing output tracks on logic. I dont own it. So I don't know the exact method. Hope that helps.
Still got that banshee talk from back in the day
Actually this is alot newer the other one got stolen when someone stole all my equipment.
Is it possible to do it without a audio interface?
Highly recommended an audio interface, you will be dealing with a ton of latency issues. You can use an aux chord in your headphone jack, use a 3.5mm to quarter inch adapter for your talkbox. But again the issue is you'll head everything including your synth come through the talkbox. So you would need an interface to sub route the signal.
Martin Ross ok, thanks
@@Zwilsonguitarist I see you play guitar, did you know you can use a talkbox on your guitar? Look up peter frampton!
Martin Ross yeah I know I just think that it sounds better with a piano, but I am gonna get one for my guitar.

Hello, how are you? I looked at a video of yours, which shows using talk box with midi, I'm learning now ... what tone do I use in midi? can i download some vst for talk box? thank you in advance ...
You don’t need a mic?
You'll need a mic.
Talk too much bro. get to the point, alot of unnecessary conversation. Just some advise for future vids
You talk a lot!
Ok 👌🏾
