  • @dnasbirdingadventures heads to Pinewood Reservoir and Watson Lake to get some more birds to add to our 2024 bird list before heading to Michigan. #colorado has excellent #birding , trails, and the #coloradowildflowers are out! We’re looking for all the new warblers migrating through and hoping to add some new birds to our 2024 yearly list!
Here’s the last Watson Lake video from last year:

Fantastic video. Watson Lake is one of my fave local birding spots. So glad to see others enjoying it as well! The goldens and swallows are always a highlight there -- and as you noted warblers of every sort abound in spring. (Shame someone cut down that old cottonwood by the river at timestamp 14:49, though. It's stood there since I was a kid.) I know those invasive flowers as "Dame's Rocket". They are rather pretty, aren't they? That's the first time I've seen them growing there.

Thanks for watching! Yes, Dames Rockets. I think I called the "Sky" . We saw MANY big trees chopped down since the last time we were there. I wonder if they were dead or had an unmanageable fungus????!! Thanks for commenting too.

Oh, Dave said it might have been that huge wind storm we had. Hmm

@@dnasbirdingadventures Perhaps. Sometimes older trees do eventually fall over after decades of Front Range wind. 🌬🌳
