My 99 avant with the 1.8t had 290,000 miles on it and never hesitated once, was always reliable. Even when I beat on it surprisingly. Topped out at 155mph on the speedo. But in the end it felt so slow and under powered.
we never get this version in the C5 here in Brasil, the most base was 2.4 30v 170 with AT, my guess this 150t with manual is faster than the 2.4 and 2.8 v6 with AT.
2.0tdi with single turbo, 2.7 tdi and 3.0tdi with single turbo, 3.0 tfsi supercharger, newer versions of the 2.0 tfsi, 1.6 tdi. Most of the diesel engines and almost all bigger petrol engines last a very long time. The only trash engines were the small petrol engines and the 1.8 tfsi. So no, this was not the last good VAG engine.
@@anwan5 I upgrade my 2003 A6 1.8T GP to APR04 and intercooler in 2009 . and it working in my life now . i suppose APR K04 reliable 12 years . it's good service . from 98000 km to 230000 km .
the 180hp versiion of this engine is actually quite tunneable. With a stage 2 it goes up to 250hp and a shit load of torque. At least where i live it´s well known as a awesome platform to tune.
180 hp version of this engine = AJL engine code, it is very primitive and old like AEB, ECU - Motronic 3.8.2., no map sensor, mechanical throttle, no drive-by-wire and of course stage 2 give us ~250 hp but the tune original Motronic 3.8.2 is very complicated or swap to ME 7.5, so ANB, AWT 150hp etc are better engines, more modern.
@@SlowFordTopSpeedAutobahn I own an A6 C5 myself and there are various details how to recognize pre-face and face. The right side mirror on the facelift is also big (pre-face has small like in this video). The plateholder area at the rear is in car color, on pre-face is in this dark grey plastic as in the video + there are other things also in the interior :)
@@SlowFordTopSpeedAutobahn Strange, check again as I am sure this is pre-face and its before 2001. One other thing you can recognize them also are the rear gear light at the rear. On pre-face they are blurred grey (like in video) and after that on facelift they are transperent in clear glass ;)
Hey men I wanna buy one A6 2007 5v turbo and alot of people tell to not because of the problems and the oil burning, do you know anything about it? I think it's a great car but people stop me from buying it

Sounds better than the current 4 cylinder engine cars. I just don't know why things have gone backwards.
My 1.8T Quattro has 490.000km with stock clutch but this car with good maintenance can make 800.000km easily with stock motor and gearbox
@@xpixelz5690 yep exactly i have a6 c5 2.4l v6 and that lasts about the same maybe even 1 milion km because ive seen 2.8 30v do 1 milion km
one of the top ten best petrol engines EVER
yes, all the way
У меня по сей день а6c5 18т механика 2003 года не на что её не променяю просто обожаю этот автомобиль
A great car, with a great engine!

I drove this car on the rain and in first and second gear, it loses traction. I believe that 250hp will be to much 😂

my 1999 a6l 2.4t has a very bad condition, wish it to be reconditioned like yours
This is not the facift of the A6 C5 4B. Its the pre-face built between 1997-2001. Facelift is 2001-2004
I believe this is 2002-2003

210nm..but still very good
I believe it is the 150hp version. only quattro version got the 180hp
