If it weren't for the log texture and the different vine type, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and something normal. I really hope they don't grayscale outside of it as well. This is not even remotely colorblind friendly. (Did they not hit the "force vision correction" button when designing this color choice? That is a gray with a basis in green and blueish tint. There's a way to just do it with being black and white and it'll look different)
The trees are supposed to be shorter to make the forest dense. If you wanted to make the trees taller you'd just be added more wood/leaves above what's currently there as well so it wouldn't make a difference. It doesn't matter where the hearts are either honestly
Another mob they should add is firefly’s with the same color as the Creaking’s eyes. If they were to add the fog, it could really set an eerie somewhat confusing setting. Also, why do the saplings look so different than the trees? It’s a small thing, but the sapling looks kinda like a weeping willow instead of a miniature version of the tree.

@@jacobrutzke691 creaking just seems annoying, and the pale garden being recycled dark oak forest generation is just plain lazy. They could’ve made it inspired by dark oak forests without having literally the exact same trees, like IDK, maybe make them taller, or potentially a mix of 1x1, 2x2, and even occasionally 3x3 trees, to make it extra hard to find the heart, and just kept the same general outer shape of dark oaks. Considering they just added this, faster Minecarts and (finally) bundles, this update is basically on the same level as 1.20 was for me, which is to say, underwhelming at best.
@Mobtrapper-hq8is to be fair they are a dark oak forest variation. Though I do get what you mean about the trees, I honestly think the biome looks pretty cool. And I like how the creaking mechanic's work but I guess it depends on how much you like the combat part of minecraft.
that's quite literally the point of the update, if you haven't heard, this isn't even an update, they're calling these "drops" which are small more frequent monthly updates. it's meant to be underwhelming.@Mobtrapper-hq8is
@@Mobtrapper-hq8is It is not a "recycled dark oak forest", by your logic calling it that would be calling the Badlands a "recycled mess biome". These are biome VARIENTS used to blend between transitions or offer unique features of their own (Badlands for example spouting more structures and gold spawns). While they might appear similar they are drastically different and function drastically different. Further more the Pale Garden's lacks the distinct Mushrooms of Dark Forest and offers a unique variant of moss (hanging and carpet. I do agree the moss blocks are lazy). I do agree some variety between thickness of thrunk for the trees would make it a tad more unique as well, a 3x3 tree will NEVER be added due to balancing reasons and the heights of these trees is intentionally shorter to hinder view. If you think it needs taller trees you either miss the point of the biome entirely (extremely likely) or simply want to add-on to what's already there which wouldn't make a difference really.
as creepy as the creaking is, I can't take it seriously now that I've seen its attack animation. like imagine this malformed monstrosity of the pale woods, creepily walk towards you. but instead of doing something like a choke, a bite, or even a cool root attack, it just slaps you in the head like you said something stupid.
This will replace the hunt for clay as much, and I'm lowkey into it. It's a more renewable block, which is welcome for builds. I use white terracotta in a lot of my cottage core builds, so having a source close to home is pretty dope.
The pale garden being the reverse of a mushroom island is an interesting thing for potential lore… especially with illagers fearing them and being “corrupted” villagers who now live in the dark oak forest and transmute blocks…
When i first started playing my friend who was an expert at minecraft convinced me that Sirenhead was in the game and that it was what makes cave sounds … if this mob existed back then she would definitely claim thats what the creaking is
I 1000% thought this was the name of a really cool adventure map so I missed this as an update completely (and then I tried to watch the resin one and got EXTREMELY confused). Anyway this biome rocks it’s so hard to get a lot of solid nice-looking white blocks in survival
Pale Garden Updates: Destroying a Creaking Heart grants XP, as if killing a mob. White Pumpkins Fog You fall through leaves like powdered snow to prevent cheesing Creakings can climb to prevent cheesing 2 tall grass like pale moss blocks Bushes Wardens do not attack dormant creakings, as they are just wood, and not a trackable entity. Boosted Creaking damage
Something that should be mentioned (Yeah I'm late) is that the creaking actually spawns in quite large numbers when you run around the pale garden biome. I think it'd be a lot better if they buffed the creaking but lowered the spawn rate.
yeah he doesn't do damage through full Netherite . . .but a player thats just starting out they go looking for a nice place to settle down outside of spawn, youve got your iron tools and at least a couple bits of iron armour and you have walked quite some distance and then come across a pale garden the creaking is gonna jumpscare and make life difficult for them. will say more wood colour is always a good thing.
The lack of damage, effect, or ability make this mob underwhelming. They should bring back bedrock fog for this area so your vision is at least impaired but this is totally going to be a mob that everyone just gonna run pass with 0 thought put in
I say the creaking should be able to hit through ALL forms of damage reduction. Make it only deal 2 or 3 half hearts a hit, but it's the same whether you are naked or using a shield with prot 5 netherite armor and a beacon after eating an enchanted golden apple.
They should make it so it immediately stops moving as soon as it is looked at as opposed to it sliding like other mobs for an extra half second. It would make it more seamless.
Updates they should add: 1) Getting a bad effect from destroying the heart, also some xp 2) Creakingn dmg up 3) Creaking not invincible but healing from hearts every some secs..
Maybe to make the biome more enticing they should make it so you can make a new instant healing item crafted using the moss, spider webs, and maybe some unique made up creaking drop (or possibly some drop that comes from breaking the heart with no sill touch, like a “creaking heart shard” and maybe you need a few to make the healing item). Moss and spider webs were traditionally used to treat wounds, and I immediately thought of it when they brought up the inspiration from spanish moss in the minecraft live. This hanging moss item, given its vine like texture rather than just being available as a block or a carpet, feels like it would fit better in a crafting recipe
Also I wonder if the creaking always disintegrates in the day or only when exposed to light. Like if you made a base in a cave could you keep one as a pet by giving it a nametag and corralling it? After it spawns?
I’d prefer it if the pale garden was an entirely new biome with custom single + mega tree generation for the new sapling. I like the concepts/features introduced and think the yin yang with the dark oak / roofed forest is nice, but at the same time I’d prefer a bigger, separate, unique biome rather than a sub-par, slightly lazy variant. Like the idea for the biome is great, but it needs to be expanded on and made its own rather than a slightly modified spinoff. I hope Mojang listens to community feedback, because there are lots of great improvements on the feedback site.
Man, the fact that zombies are spamming themselves towards you even when youre outside their fov REALLY pisses me off, they'll find you even if you are in a literal vacuum chamber...
Garden implies cultivation. So by calling this forest a “pale garden” that implies that someone.. or something… grew it intentionally. It’s not naturally growing in the wild though it may seem like it. I think the name “pale garden” sounds very evocative and lore intensive.
1) It would be interesting if during weather events the Pale Garden had fog instead of the usual rain or otherwise like how deserts don't have rain 2) There should be a hanging plant which when a player or mob travels under it, it drops an orb which causes blindness for 10 seconds
Here's some things that they should of done : - Fog would also be inane in that biome, imagine with shaders, you just see the eyes glow from the fog! - Hearts could also emit a light heart beat, to add to the creepy environment. - The bigger the tree, the more powerful the Creaking should be, faster & more damage! Also more untable? (shacking maybe?) - Saw a comment on making the colors of adjacent biomes greyscale once you step in the biome, loved it! Overall, It's an interesting addition, definitely new, but I can't see the use of it, like there's litterally no use for this... Everybody is gonna go in the Pale Garden during the day, with a bed, get all the wood and never come back... Like every mobs drops something that can be used for something, or is useful, the Creaking doesn't... New blocks are amazing but I feel like they only wanted to add that and had to add something else with it. We'll see on release if there's something else you can do with the Creaking, other than prank some friends...
I like the heartbeat idea, but it might make them easy to find and break before you even encounter the associated creaking. Fog and greyscale filter over adjacent biomes would be really cool though :3
I think they should be faster deal more damage and if there are less than a certain number like 2 make it able to play some of its sounds in a different direction that way it is more dangerous as right now there is not many reasons to “blink” and when you do they can’t close distance easily

I wouldn’t say replaced, just giving more options. I know I’ll still be using birch even with the pale wood, and I didn’t stop using spruce when dark oak was introduced.
It's only a matter of time when Acacia wood be replaced with Baobab and Oak wood be replaced by Palm trees wood type, if we ever get them unless they are vastly different tho tbh
Double the height of the tree and add a fog in the biome
Pale garden really needs some fog
need to spawn like 3 creeking to one heart.
I have unironically been waiting for a true white wood (not birch) since 1.11. That’s the only reason I like this update at all.
Why? Is there nothing else you like about this updatd?
I'd love if exposing the heart or hitting it etc. caused the Creaking to rage and do double the damage and hit twice as fast
The doors look so god damn good
This mob will be used for so many prisons because you can’t kill them and how far away they can spawn from the block
the creaking definitely needs a buff if it is going to live up to his inspiration in the Weeping angels/ SCP-173
Personaly i think the creeaking should get a large speed and damage boost
Hope they buff the damage; the creaking isn't really a threat as is. It doesn't have to be a boss, but it should be able to do some damage at least.
as creepy as the creaking is, I can't take it seriously now that I've seen its attack animation. like imagine this malformed monstrosity of the pale woods, creepily walk towards you. but instead of doing something like a choke, a bite, or even a cool root attack, it just slaps you in the head like you said something stupid.
@@nseven1117 dude, no offense but that’s EVERY mob in Minecraft.
@@jimlight5137 not really, most of them just casually approaches you with little to no animation
Now we can use the pale wood blocks as counterfeit quartz lol. Don’t have to spend hours in the Nether if you don’t want to. Wood farm baby.
The woods pretty cool but the forest needs some silent hill treatment
When i first started playing my friend who was an expert at minecraft convinced me that Sirenhead was in the game and that it was what makes cave sounds … if this mob existed back then she would definitely claim thats what the creaking is
0:08 now now captain they said they’d be in snapshots in a few weeks still wrong but they probably just they say that to be safe
Seed & co-ords for that awesome cave opening? Great overview.
Feels very noire and very cool for October. Reminds me of the old days like the nether and portals being added : )
oh God the hermits are gonna have a field day with this one
I 1000% thought this was the name of a really cool adventure map so I missed this as an update completely (and then I tried to watch the resin one and got EXTREMELY confused). Anyway this biome rocks it’s so hard to get a lot of solid nice-looking white blocks in survival
Pale Garden Updates:
Destroying a Creaking Heart grants XP, as if killing a mob.
White Pumpkins
Fog
You fall through leaves like powdered snow to prevent cheesing
Creakings can climb to prevent cheesing
2 tall grass like pale moss blocks
Bushes
Wardens do not attack dormant creakings, as they are just wood, and not a trackable entity.
Boosted Creaking damage
Creaking damage should bypass armor, like vexes
@@Bro-trust-me That would be a good fix, as my problem isn't really its damage, but the fact that armor is so overpowered. Thanks!
@@gianmarcoc7186 dude he was wearing the strongest armor in the game. It’s 5 hearts of damage with no armor. It’s fine.
White Pumpkins!!!
@@jimlight5137 it only does 1 heart of damage in normal mode without any armor
Something that should be mentioned (Yeah I'm late) is that the creaking actually spawns in quite large numbers when you run around the pale garden biome. I think it'd be a lot better if they buffed the creaking but lowered the spawn rate.
Colorblind people be like what's the difference? Looks like a regular biome to me
Lmao I showed my bf whos colorblind and he was like, what's new?
yeah he doesn't do damage through full Netherite . . .but a player thats just starting out they go looking for a nice place to settle down outside of spawn, youve got your iron tools and at least a couple bits of iron armour and you have walked quite some distance and then come across a pale garden the creaking is gonna jumpscare and make life difficult for them. will say more wood colour is always a good thing.
he doesnt hit hard he just sends you back in time
The lack of damage, effect, or ability make this mob underwhelming. They should bring back bedrock fog for this area so your vision is at least impaired but this is totally going to be a mob that everyone just gonna run pass with 0 thought put in
9:14 that skeleton just chillin
I say the creaking should be able to hit through ALL forms of damage reduction. Make it only deal 2 or 3 half hearts a hit, but it's the same whether you are naked or using a shield with prot 5 netherite armor and a beacon after eating an enchanted golden apple.
They should make it so it immediately stops moving as soon as it is looked at as opposed to it sliding like other mobs for an extra half second. It would make it more seamless.
Updates they should add:
1) Getting a bad effect from destroying the heart, also some xp
2) Creakingn dmg up
3) Creaking not invincible but healing from hearts every some secs..
My builder brain would look like a nuclear detonation in a CAT Scan rn
Will a creaking spawn outside of those biome if a heart is properly placed or is it limited to the biome?
I really think with a few tweaks, we’ve got a winner of a new addition
The creeking is like the Lethal Company Coil-Head
Really cool, but it’s too high of a risk and too less of an reward
This reminds me of the dark forest and the dark forest clearing in the twilight forest mod
Kreeking is litterally just a coilhead from lethal company. Who is gonna make a survival minigame about it first?
I love this drop.
The creaker....is essentially a wheeping angel then minus the teleportong lol
Rather than damage buff, how about a slowness like you were rooted
Man, the fact that zombies are spamming themselves towards you even when youre outside their fov REALLY pisses me off, they'll find you even if you are in a literal vacuum chamber...
It would be interesting if the creeking spawner block would hide itself with the log
Much like the haunting Weeping Angels from DW
Pale Garden? Don't plants make a garden? This isn't a garden, it's a forest.
Trees are plants
Garden implies cultivation. So by calling this forest a “pale garden” that implies that someone.. or something… grew it intentionally. It’s not naturally growing in the wild though it may seem like it. I think the name “pale garden” sounds very evocative and lore intensive.
@@Mobtrapper-hq8is That's just like saying fruit or something is food, well duh, we categorize things for a reason.
@@Mobtrapper-hq8is By that logic I could say any forest is a garden and vice versa.
Its a work in progress biome chillaxe man
I could see that wood used for a hunted house.
Creaking is what Enderman was supposed to be - moving while you're not looking at it. Sadly, Enderman turned into a cutesy freak.
Wait... maybe the idea behind the creaking originated from the rascal... which would've done the same thing, but in mineshafts
These are like the weeping angels from doctor who
9:08 did that enderman just stole one of the island blocks? 😂😂😂😂
the creakers do get a bit quirky at night
Millennial Grey
I really wish that chests would also change appearance depending of the wood that's used.
Agreed tbh, as well as crafting tables and such
ok ok they did make another spooky mob. but of course the warden still tops this
It would be interesting if it spread like corruption and added many creatures and a cave skulk like features
Jordan:cCHILD! BE GONE CHILD!
BTY my name is Jordan to
This biome is also known as the pacific northwest lol
They be adding everything apart from what we want
1) It would be interesting if during weather events the Pale Garden had fog instead of the usual rain or otherwise like how deserts don't have rain
2) There should be a hanging plant which when a player or mob travels under it, it drops an orb which causes blindness for 10 seconds
I didn't think it should gain more more damage, instead just more speed, so that he reaches you faster
cap. plz label these videos as minecraft update. i missed this one
Now I need to know if it can be turned off and on with redstone or not, via a sticky piston.
Here's some things that they should of done :
- Fog would also be inane in that biome, imagine with shaders, you just see the eyes glow from the fog!
- Hearts could also emit a light heart beat, to add to the creepy environment.
- The bigger the tree, the more powerful the Creaking should be, faster & more damage! Also more untable? (shacking maybe?)
- Saw a comment on making the colors of adjacent biomes greyscale once you step in the biome, loved it!
Fog and greyscale filter over adjacent biomes would be really cool though :3
make the biome bigger, make the night sky gray, fog, win
I think they should be faster deal more damage and if there are less than a certain number like 2 make it able to play some of its sounds in a different direction that way it is more dangerous as right now there is not many reasons to “blink” and when you do they can’t close distance easily
I want to see some youtuber making that video on surviving in a single biome... Of the pale garden biome
