It’s a nice design, it must be hard to be patient when you only have limited spare time. Funny, I often say, AFTER I’ve been doing a bit of spraying, “I probably should have been wearing a respirator” too hahahahahahah!
Bloody hell a candy finish with rattle cans, now that was ambitious, you have everything against you, dust in the air and weather now turning cold. That's the way I sprayed in the 70's on my bikes. I would have sprayed a clear coat after each layer to protect what you had done. I am sure you can repair the black by flattening and clear coating it. Looks great what you have done. Cheers Buddy.
ha ha- yeah probably the worst possible conditions and yet the nicest finish i've ever got! (although not clear'd it yet....!!!) yeah black is an easy touch up!! phew!!!
The tank paint job was n't easy at all but the result is quite perfect mostly with cans !the pop art 70's is really successful. The seat will great with that vinyl too.
Lookig good man! Remember when clear coating - don't go to heavy at once. 2-3 thin layers. Let it dry then gentle flat down and another 2-3 layers after that. Smoothie ;)
@@johnnycactus0 If you are using spray can, I would definitely spray a test panel at the same time and leave it to dry in the same conditions. You should be safe to flat it withing 48hrs, but be careful when spraying additional layers - this is where test panel comes handy. If it won't crackle on test panel, you should be good on the tank also. Start with very thin layers - dust it number of time before you go heavy. Take your time- you got this! After all DRZ paintjob is stil strong..and I've not touched it! :)
Sunday evening and a Cactus video. Yeah!
Cheers bud!!!

ha ha! so true! at least this time i'll be picking sparkly bogies out of my nose for the next week!
Great job. A bit of custom paint can do so much for a bike. Can't wait to see the finished tank!
I'm amazed it's coming out as well as it is....Mackie won't be hiring me any time soon🤣 but so far it's going ok!!!!
Really diggin that tank Mr Cactus, yaya! 🤙🤙

Cheers buddy! I appreciate all your advice and tips!!! How long would leave between thin coats and how long would you let it dry before flatting?

Ha Ha!!! I know and it's the black I messed up!! Typical!! Maybe a big ? on there too for the riddler!!😁
Never had you pegged as a Bowie fan. What other tracks were in there ? Oh, and nice job, it's going to look stunning !
Love Bowie!...there was some Alice Cooper and Stone Temple Pilots if I remember correctly...!!! Thank you!
