    Happy new year! That looks really cool. I was also thinking of 2 notches to fit the exhaust when you first fitted it. But I agree that wouldn't look good when you've test fitted it. Good choice.
    I personal would not paint it. Maybe clear coat it. But then again the first idea isn't always the right one 😉.

      Happy New year to you too!! Yeah I do like the distressed look!! However I think I'll paint it...and if I miss the weathered look I'll hit it with a scotchbrite again!!!😂

      johnnycactus0 or, just give it a thin coat, and let it wear through use... that might work! Anyway, really like what you've done here, it looks fantastic!

    It's always a pain trying to work on pre-drilled plate like that, perhaps some of them ally fluxcore welding rods may help with tidying things up with in the future.

      lovely stuff on the gold leaf lid- yeah i hope he can add some professionalism to the tank paint!! ha ha!!- i think some outlines would look great!!
