Automatic Enricher Operation (10x Speed) : Choke Bypass Bystarter

  • A video, sped up 10x, of the automatic enricher operating. In reality, it takes a few minutes for most enrichers to extend fully. As the enricher heats up, it expands to block a passage that allows additional fuel to be supplied to the engine.
If the enricher stops functioning properly you could experience a rich condition once the engine is warm. It's also possible, though less likely, that the enricher could get stuck extended and cause trouble starting a cold engine.

my 02 Yam Vino has raw gas in the carb throat and plug is fouling. i checked the wires to this enricher and they have no power. would this make the carb run rich enough to foul the plug?

It should have only a very minor affect anywhere aside from idle or very low throttle positions. Check your float height.

so if the needle is out, like its doin in the video.. is that the choke turning itself off?
So say for instance, you wanted to remove the choke from operating.. you could just JB weld that needle in the out position??
    cheers

Yeah, it is retracted to allow fuel by when cold. As it heats up it expands and blocks the fuel passage. You'd have to find a way to keep it in the extended position to eliminate enrichment. I had one of mine wired to the battery with a switch. If for some reason I didn't want it to enrich I could turn it on a few minutes before starting. If it ran a little lean at any point I could turn the switch off so it would always allow enrichment.

Does auto chokes also cause a scooter to bog from cold start when u drive it after letting it idle?

If all is working well, no. Auto enrichment is not perfect though. Sometimes you just need to let the scoot warm up a bit.

What is better manual choke or automatic choke? I put on my scooter manual choke but it goes without needle. As i understand, needle closes fuel canal. So i think, that consumption will grow up. What do you think?

I like the manual stuff better, but I've never converted one. I've only used it on other people's stock scooters or with aftermarket carbs on my own. Hopefully it will block it off with the barrel. If you know fuel economy before, check it now.

Is their a way to bypass this in a 2 stroke moped??

Disconnecting it would leave it always on, allowing additional fuel. I used to have a switch hooked to batt +/- and I could turn it on before the bike started to disable it if I wanted to or turn the power off to add fuel in the event of some lean condition just for a crutch till I was home. I mostly had it because I built my own harness and didn't include an enricher plug because I normally use manual enrichers on DellOrto carbs. There are manual kits that E-tons and some ATVs had. You could use one of those. I've heard of people blocking the passage to disable the auto enricher.

+90GTVert my moped has trouble staying on, it will turn on, I'll accelerate and when letting go of the throttle it won't let me hit it again, and just accelerate down, I took the enricher off and it stayed on longer and I could accelerate it up and down. So I tried putting the enricher back on while my scooter was running, but as son as the enricher needle barely went in the hole it turned off. I didn't even have to push it snug in their for it to turn off.

Sounds like it's running lean for some reason. A good cleaning is the first step. Then it may need tuning. Sorry the reply is so late, YT marked it as spam.
