- The “T” shaped hose that comes off the engine blew at the plastic fitting. This fitting ties in the rear heat function with the front heat exchanger. This hose is able to be purchased from most auto parts stores as well as rockauto.com from $50-$150. This video shows you what to buy to both save money and also finish the job without waiting for the parts to come in the mail.
Be careful, let your vehicle cool completely before cracking open the coolant system!

Hope you can save a ton of cash like I did! The repair is still holding up well.
Eureka! There's a tool to take those damn clamps off! Seems all I do is fight water leaks on Fords and those clamps make my life miserable. Amazon here I come.
I just updated the description with the Amazon link I used, glad the video helped in some way.
@@ijfim Lol! Ordered that exact set probably 20 minutes before you updated it! I have a 2002 Ford Ranger and its taught me the meaning of Fix Or Repair Daily....mostly exploding thermostat housings. I've changed it so many times I can do it with my eyes shut but fighting those hose clamps with channel locks makes it a misery. Thanks for the heads up!
