Oh your poor possum, you're working so hard and to have one of your machines go offline is a nuisance you don't need! I wanted to hop in my car and bring a couple of machines to you but I'm a good four hours away and travel like that's just not allowed right now LOL
The stocktake on your fabric was a huge job well done and will enable you to re-launch your website with a nice, clean start. OMG I can't believe you lifted that heat press into your car by yourself. What a woman! Although I'm sure there'll be some head shaking when you tell your Rhys and your Dad. Thank goodness you've got the kitchen bench to work at to save your back. I'm sure there are times you miss your studio at the farm.
Cheering you on from across the state! Simone ♥

I love these videos! About your broken and bent needle, you should maybe not use the stretch ones, they are more blunt to not make holes in stretchy materials. So when you sew with more solid materials there will be more pressure on the needle because it is too blunt. Just a tip.

Please please please wear a pair of glasses while you sew. I only recommend it because you mention that you snap them regularly. The first time I ever snapped a needle it hit me in the forehead.... then it happened again an hour later! Yes it can be annoying to remember but that's better than losing an eye right? Lol

Hi Taylah! Watching (and re-watching) some of your videos while I work on my sewing today. I can't recall if I've mentioned this before in any comments, but for back pain, you might want to give Biofreeze a try. I got a sample from my chiropractor years ago, and I've sworn by it since! I prefer the roll-on format (less messy, easier to get on) and always have a bottle on hand. It's about $12-$15 USD here in the states (no prescription needed - they have regular strength & professional strength, which is just 1% more menthol but you can tell the diff. I'm sure even if you're able to find it in Aus, it'll be astronomically expensive. But something to keep in mind if you travel to the states or have friends who live over here (and the shipping restrictions loosen).
Oh, and I've got a silly question for you for a future Q&A: Do you keep little personal supplies handy on your worktable, like lip balm, lotion, sanitizer, etc? I've got a few things in various locations near my desk/sewing work surface like eye drops (Systane Complete is amazing, btw!), Blistex lip balm, a pack of gum, a nail file/clippers, a tiny screwdriver to tighten the frames on my glasses, Vaseline for cuts/skin irritations and antibiotic ointment/band-aids for work boo-boos. Also keep a few paper towels nearby in case I spill my ever-present coffee and water. I have bottles of lotion in the kitchen (and sanitizer), bath and on my porch. I probably wash my hands a basquillion times a day so they are always crying out for extra moisture! Anyhoo, just curious! Hope you're having a great week! Hugs to you, Rhys and Flo! 💜

That was one very bent needle 🤣 Great work, Taylah 💕 Looking forward to seeing the new video on your fluffier scunchies. Did you go up in price because you use like.. is it 1/3 more fabric? (You got two on a length instead of three earlier, my tired brain says that is 1/3 extra lol)? Im a keeper myself, selling off sewing machines? Nahh.. 😅

Think you could do with one of those up down tables, the ones that rise to a standing like table. Would be easier on your back for cutting and maybe packing then lowered for other things. Wonder if you could get the company that has them to give you one to review.

Have you seen when they hook the elastic on the turning stick? If you cut apart the fabric to the scrunchy size after the first seam. Hook the elastic at the bottom of the stick and wedge it in, or hook it, at the top then add turn the fabric you will have threaded your elastic! Save your poor fingers.

I tried to make a scrunchie for my granddaughter in her team fabric. I cut it 6 inches wide and 22 inches long but I am having a hard time with the elastic. 1/4” is too dinky. I decided on 3/4” mostly because I already have a lot of it. I can’t get the length right. I want a nice full scrunchie and be able to wrap it twice around her hair. The fabric is 100% cotton. How long should that elastic be? I can’t tie it because it’s so wide it has to be sewn. Help a little girl’s MomMom. Please

    • @TaylahRose

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. I know how busy you are. So, it seems like the fabric length I am using is fine at 22 inches. Is it my 6 inches that’s too wide? How long should the elastic be? I have tried so hard for her. I can make the smaller ones with no problem. It’s the 6” wide that I can’t determine the elastic length. Thank you
